What a series it was! The Lions came within a whisker of winning but credit to the wallabies, they dug deep when they needed to, and that great Aussie team deserve the plaudits 🦁🇦🇺
Being an aussie, i reckon with the individual talent on the field Lions shoulda won this series. But they choked a bit this game and the aussies following the rofe tries in the unnexpected win on 2nd game suddenly believed it was there's for the taking. Gotta admire odriscoll in this series, man took so many hits, tough as a nail and excellent pace and skills.
Because Rugby Union is a minor sport down under, well behind AFL, Rugby League and soccer, and Rugby is losing so much popularity as AFL pushes into NSW and Qld.
Aussie captain Eales gets his hands on the trophy But this advantage was immediately thrown away when Colin Charvis - who replaced Scott Quinnell at the break - made a disastrous attempt to run the ball out of his own half. His feeble kick was returned with interest by the Australians, and Toutai Kefu and Nathan Grey battered holes in the Lions' defence for Daniel Herbert to score his second try."
If you were going to look at a joint team from this series it would be.... 1 Tom Smith 2 Keith Wood 3 Phil Vickery 4 Martin Johnson 5 John Eales 6 Martin Corry 7 Richard Hill 8 Toutai Kefu 9 George Gregan 10 Stephen Larkham 11 Jason Robinson 12 Daniel Herbert 13 Brian O'Driscoll 14 Joe Roff 15 Matt Perry. That's 9 Lions and 6 Wallabies and thats being generous. The Wallabies should have had 2 red cards in the 2nd test, same with South Africa in 2009.
Lions XV for Australia 2013.... 1 G. Jenkins 2 D. Hartley 3 D, Cole 4 R. Gray 5 P.O'Connell 6 D. Lydiate 7 S. Warburton 8 B. Morgan 9 M. Phillips 10 J. Sexton 11 G. North 12 J. Roberts 13 M. Tuilagi 14 C. Ashton 15 B. Foden
What a bizzar thing to claim. A game that is not really a sport, that is popular in a small part of the world versus a true world game played in over 100 countries by millions of people. Action? NFL has more breaks than dry spaghetti n a punching bag...
This series was lost when in the second test..when the Lions had about 5 clear cut try scoring chances and only took one of them. The Nathan Gray illegally took out Richard Hill with a cheap late and high shot...and George Smith began to dominate the breakdown.
Wilkinson wayward pass started the Australian comeback in the second test, the Gray hit was cheap but I’m sure the Lions put some boots in too. For all his greatness Wilkinson was never great for The Lions.
Jasus i wish we still had O Driscoll and Keith Wood..Ireland would be contenders ...Lions should have won that series ..one of the very few times Wilkinson missed 3 kicks Henderson should have passed outside near the end bad mistake taking ball into tackle
The thing was Henderson couldn’t pass. We made too many mistakes that series against an Australian side low on confidence until the second half of the second test. Enjoy it as you won’t see Australia compete for years.
Fair enough, i've lost all faith in your rugby knowledge is you think that Keith Wood, Martin Johnson, Richard Hill, Scott Quinell, Jason Robinson, Brian O'Driscoll and more werent better in their positions.... The Lions team actually was guna have Hill, Back, Dallaglio as the backrow but Back and Dallaglio got injured. They were in their peak in 2001 as a unit and look what they even did to the wallas in 2003 in June and the World Cup... oh dear.....

As a Kiwi, this Wallabies team is one of the greats. What a team. Aussie rugby is making a comeback. Loads of young bucks coming through.
Thanks for uploading this mate....much appreciated.
When martin Johnson shut Justin Harrison up after he throttled him is always good to watch...
AND WHEN Harrison won the game for the Wallabies by taking the opposition lineout throw TWICE in front of Johnsons FACE hhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaa - 2 to 1 Wallabies won the series - end of
Jesus Christ! Grow up.
From you, that's a real classic ....

Hey there. You've Made Progress! cent tip What's happening, guys. !
Wallabies were so good back then
Agreed, that’s an insane Lions team right there and in all honesty Australia worked them out and won.
Being an aussie, i reckon with the individual talent on the field Lions shoulda won this series. But they choked a bit this game and the aussies following the rofe tries in the unnexpected win on 2nd game suddenly believed it was there's for the taking.

In this game, o’Driscoll was uncharacteristically not a factor: ball in hand, you hardly saw him, if not at the end.
Is it possible to have the second game?..
PS thanks for uploading
A deciding match of a Lions tour and the grounds half empty, only happens in Oz.
Because Rugby Union is a minor sport down under, well behind AFL, Rugby League and soccer, and Rugby is losing so much popularity as AFL pushes into NSW and Qld.
Have you got game 2 ???????
It was actually 18 billion people that watched the Rugby World Cup... :P
Tom smith best loosehead prop

Whatever happened to the Aboriginal fly half? He seemed to disappear after the Lions?
He was a winger wasn’t he? He went back to league I think. He had a short but ridiculous career. He was a superb player in both codes.
Great Wallabies team.

Abit quick on the whistle there paddy lol
I am sitting down keyboard warrior. I think youll find that most rugby fans would pick this XV as a blended one from the 3 test series in 2001.....
Oh Graham Henry...

4 Billion people or so watched the Rugby World Cup Final in 2011....
4 Billion people.... did not watch the SuperBowl.....

Those stats are ridiculous.
the lions could of won this test series and the 2009 series in south Africa oh well they finally won one in Aussie, bring on the 2017 tour in NZ.

Charvis sulked about not getting a test place and then promptly threw the series away with his moronic quick throw in.
Thankyou keyboard warrior ...
Knees in the back wasn't a card???! Late and deliberate. Boot in the head. Some nice boys in red. Nowadays there would be a spate of cards.

ROFL :)
For a Hooker, Kieth Woods has a pretty good boot..............
Yep he lost the game for them and moaned all tour.
Justin Harrison scared of Johnson 14:47.
The commentator calls it restraint. Bollocks, that's fear.
