"Changing things is the only way to get things to change" seems so simple but it's so important for so many people to hear.

I 100% agree with this. It's easy to feel bad about something and throw hateful words and just lash out negatively, and it is extremely hard for some people to take a step back and think about how they can improve their outlook, or think of something subjectively or at the very least, direct their anger in a more productive way without being outwardly hateful or spiteful.

1:22-1:30 I really like stuff like this where you just talk, whether it's this, or DBD. However small it may be or not, you offer (in my opinion) a different perspective and it always gets me thinking critically (at least I feel it does). More often than not, especially when it's DBD related, you also are a good source of background noise to listen to while I play my games, and I love it! Thank you for doing what you do, big ups! 😁👍

I feel like I have the opposite problem. Where instead of blaming others for my emotions or other stuff, I blame myself for my situation or how I feel. It's my fault we had a bad day cause I wanted to do this thing and something bad happened. I started the conversation and we had a fight, there fore I'm at fault for the argument because I started talking to them. I have a problem of constant guilt and feeling like everything is my fault.

Im gonna be honest. Most of the Videos I like watching from you, has nothing to do with Dead by Daylight.
I like to hear your struggles and how you deal with them.
You are not one of those people who got their success gifted to them from anywhere. It’s all hard work. Hard work, determination and just simply staying true to yourself.
And that is what makes you so much more relatable. You aren’t perfect, you are flawed like any of us.
What I mean to say is, I like you just talking about life and struggles instead of DBD.
Maybe you could just talk about Life and have DBD in the background ?
Sorry for this wall of text. I just woke up. Keep it up Kaiser.

At a certain point you really need to ask yourself if you're the problem in these kinds of situations.
You should not be pushing your problems onto others who have nothing to do with it.

I personally watch your content because you're the only dbd channel that I have known so far who talks about fallacies when arguing and is a very smart person. Also, in some of your videos you tend to get very sad and I like when youtubers are transparent with their viewers, in a certain limit. In fact everytime you upload a video youtube sends me the notification in 40 minutes, because it knows I am going to watch it. You're unique to me

Clearly a good portion of the community values your opinions, whether positive, negative, or jaded. I've always found them to be pretty refreshing, myself, due to how genuine they are.
I would love to see you stop doubting yourself. Even in the face of adversity, and I mean straight up hate-campaign adversity, you still bust your ass to provide content that is true to whatever passion you manage to still have for this game. I definitely couldn't do that. I lack both that amount of effort and bravery to put myself out there.
Whether I agree with those opinions or not, I still enjoy the conversation. You kick ass, Kaiser.

1:22 I forgot to leave a comment on your "People don't like me" video but the reason I watch your videos is honestly because It's entertaining to hear you discuss a topic. Even if I don't always 100% agree with everything said you're a good person trying to make the world a better place. So to answer your question: People like hearing you talk about random stuff or DBD related topics. Your viewerbase isn't here because of some algorithm fuck up, people genuinely like hearing you commentate.

Kaiser I think seasonal breaks from dbd has been really good for you. I notice that when you do variety you make social commentary and I find myself really enjoying your thoughtful commentary again. Please take breaks from dbd as needed. From ANY game where you feel like you been playing it too much. Ohhh instead of making a "quitting dbd video" have you made or considered a "why I like variety content" type of video instead?
Also I respect how you respect your audience's free time. At one point i was so ready for the algorithm to sweep your videos to the side and fill my feed with someone else's videos 😂.
Good job converting your self talk into something really productive btw.

It feels crazy that disagreeing with someone’s opinion makes it feel like you need to send them death threats / slurs / insults over. It’s not just dbd, it’s everywhere, and it sucks to see. It’s just people stuck in their own misery they need to spread to other people because they can’t see people enjoying themselves or having differing opinions to them.

I think there's a hint of irony when you dispute the commenter's take on your channel's content when the titles you list off at 16:57 are mostly negative in nature. I understand the commenter was only referring to your dbd videos, but it makes me wonder about how your content may be related to your sentiment of "feeding into all of the hate is exactly what produces more hate."
If this person was already considering leaving dbd as a whole, wouldn't that put you in a position, as a content creator, to pull them back in? Even if you're convinced this person was only looking for a grand exit, I find it easy to believe there are many people who are right on the edge given how contentious the state of this game has always been. So why not try be the guy who inspires somebody leave a comment saying "this video made me reinstall dbd!" I find this focuses more on expanding your audience rather than keeping your existing viewerbase around. Even if your dbd videos criticize the game on fair grounds, it affirms existing opinions of veteran viewers/players while exposing newer ones to more and more reasons to leave the game (even if that's not the intention of your videos).
Take your Deadlock video for example. Given the title and length of the first one, I'm sure you love it to death. Then look at the second one. You immediately jump into a completely negative topic about a game you like. Despite not being directly about the game itself, it is still hating on some tertiary aspect of it. The way you present them alone I would argue feeds into YT's "hate economy" and probably doesn't do good for your mental health or mine.
I'm not suggesting you stop making critical videos or be blindly positive, just to be clear; in the end it's all about what you want to do with your own channel. I just wanted to share that I believe your conclusion, although virtuous on its own, wasn't quite the right thing to take away from that comment. Again, even if you're right about the guy only looking for an out I would still use this as an opportunity to question how your videos interface with your own community and those who are right outside from it.

No. It is not my responsibility to convince someone who wants to leave a game to stay playing it. I do not and never will strive to talk people into doing things that are bad for their mental health.
If you arent enjoying a game, stop playing it. Thats my message. Im not going to change my opinions or content to "convince" someone to play a game they werent enjoying. Thats a really bad thing to do.
Also "looking at the title" homie you cant just run off titles. That removes all context, nuance and more from the content within. I mean that person would later call my video on Battle Royales negative when it wasnt negative in the slightest.
At the end of the day you cannot, and should not, blame content creators for your emotional state and Content creators do not owe you anything they do not want to make.
Saying I should change my opinions cause someone might blame me for THEIR emotions is silly and saying I should strive to change their mind and convince them to do something they dont want to do sounds malicious.
I encourage people to do whats best for them, and engaging with things they werent enjoying isnt

@@KaiserDaGaemer The bottom of what I was trying to encourage was to consciously create content that people would enjoy engaging with instead of being an unapologetic landmine in the vast landscape of youtube content for people to avoid stepping on. Trust me, there's plenty of videos and channels I avoid because I know it's not something I'll enjoy based on seeing enough of their content to inform myself that the channel as a whole is not for me. Even going off of titles and thumbnails can be enough to tell it's not what you're looking for, and you know a majority of people will do that even if it's unfair to the content itself. And yeah of course titles aren't going to give you the full argument/nuance/context of the video, they're meant to grab your interest and they leave an impression of what the video is about and what kind of content the channel produces. This is part of the point I'm trying to drive at.
My asking you to take on a different perspective was not me suggesting you to change your opinions, but to diversify the nature of your content to cast a wider net in hopes that your channel will grow from catching different people's attention. You don't have to change your opinions to do that.
The perspective doesn't have to exclusively include somebody who is already miserable playing whatever your content is about. It can be about somebody who has only heard about the game and are curious, or somebody who took a long break from it and want to know what's up with it. It doesn't have to be an effort to brainwash, and I'm sorry if the way I wrote lead down to that line of thinking. It can simply be an effort to invite those who have not yet entered.

    • @KaiserDaGaemer
      @KaiserDaGaemer  22 дні тому +1

I think it wrong to mislead people however. If I like something about the game I will say it, and if I dont then I will say that.
While yes I dont want to be a metaphorical landmine for people to avoid I also think its an unfair assertment of what my content is. At the end of the day I make content for two reasons
      1) because I like sharing my thoughts and hearing/engaging with the reasonable thoughts of others. Its the reason Im engaging with you now as, even though I find your assertions to be a tad ridiculous, youre obviously genuine and reasonable about what you want to say and I can appreciate that above all else.
      2) to entertain those who want to be entertained.
The first one comes natraully with discussion content, but the second is a subjective view of what people find entertaining. I cant predict how people will see my content. And those who judge off of titles and thumbnails alone are not really people I want to engage with to begin with. Titles and thumbnails that capture interest are my job, the contents within and understanding those nuances are the job of the listener.
My main issue with people saying " well all your content is negative" is that it implies Im being negative for negatives sake. As if my videos dont contain a deeper level of discussion thats far more nuanced than just being negative. For example my video on coconuts was not just me being an asshole, it was a video of me calling out a very harmful rhetoric. I dont consider that negative, I consider it important.
Rarley do I bitch just to bitch, I almost always have a point and removing that nuance from my content frustrates me.
As for DBD in particular I dont really want to convince people to play it, not at the moment. I wish I could say I was happy enough with the game to reccomend it but at the moment I dont. Thats why I have made videos praising Deadlock, with another one coming this week (toomorow I think)
Yesterday I made a video encouraging people to seek out an underatted commentator because her content is truly amazing. And later this week I have a video about how cool it is Gamefly is still around.
I wont make content that is negative for negatives sake, but in the same vain I wont make content that is positive for positives sake. I want to speak freely and allow for others to do the same (again within reason) and I simply dont agree that I should strive to convince people to engage with a game Im not happy with myself. Instead I would rather present my honest opinions and greivances, and allow them the room to agree or disagree to the degree they wish.
While that may not have been your intention friend, it felt as if you were asking me to be dishonest, to be positive for positives sake, and I cant, in good concious, do that.

@@KaiserDaGaemer To be completely fair I did expressly say "I'm not suggesting you stop making critical videos or be blindly positive" in my initial comment :P
But I do understand how you view your content and what your stance is as a content creator. The worst thing to be is dishonest and I have a feeling we both agree on that so all is well.
