Game would have been much bigger if it wasn't only for the Wii. It has great characters and fun to play on a surface level and at a high level.

Very cool, I actually have a copy for the Wii I got it when I was stationed in South Korea. Been awhile since I played it though. I would like to see a cab for Rival Schools or Project Justice too. Those some of my favorite games.

Very nice! I used an original Wii and 2 Mayflash Univeral Arcade sticks with PS2 to GCN/XB converters for mine. Very cool to see this type of hardware and version on a custom cab.
I loved Battle of the Planets as a kid (the American version of Gatchaman) so I was really interested in this game! If only I could have gotten my hands on a copy! But this build... is... beautiful! Love it!!!!!!!!
This was a really good game. I remember when I first played it (arcade version) and thinking how fluid the controls were. How smooth the animation was, and how nice the graphics were. It could've been more known had it been released on the other consoles.

I love the arcade quality monitor, real arcade PCB, lighted marquee, upgraded sound, and even an arcade coin door. It's like an arcade cabaret cabinet. And all the artwork is beautiful. This was a great design!

I have always thought that tat vs capcom has some of the best capcom artwork. Love the way chun li is drawn in the artwork.
Personally I prefer capcom vs snk. It's my goal to make that a cabinet.
They are using Shinkiro art here too, they borrowed him from SNK. The first time they did was with the SNK Vs. Capcom series.

I have two copies of the game for Wii. Technically, there are two versions of the game in Japan (roughly akin to the difference between Street Fighter II and Super Street Fighter II). The first version, which is what your arcade board is, is called "Tatsunoko VS. Capcom Cross Generation of Heroes." The second version is "Tatsunoko VS. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars." The second version is the one that got a US release on the Wii.
The main difference is the addition of a few characters in the updated version, and one being removed (I think it was removed in both the US and Japan, but definitely the US). I believe at least for the US, it had something to do with the rights for the character.
When the first version of the game came out in Japan and word of a new crossover game akin to the Marvel/Capcom games (but with Tatsunoko instead of Marvel) made its way to the US, there was a lot of uncertainty if it would ever get an official US release. This was largely because while in Japan, the rights to all of the anime characters in the game were owned by one company, those rights were split up in the US, so it seemed like it might be too complicated to get a western release.
Even though I wasn't really into most of the anime characters in the game, being a fan of the Marvel/Capcom fighting games (and having imported X-Men VS. Street Fighter and Marvel VS. Street Fighter for the Saturn back in the 90s), I knew I had to play this. So I got an import of that first version, and was able to play it on my Wii through the Homebrew Channel. It was a lot of fun, though the menu was a pain to navigate since it was all in Japanese (this wasn't an issue with the aforementioned Saturn imports).
My understanding is that the one character that is removed in the Ultimate All-Stars version was the main one holding up the rights for a US release of the first version, which is why he was removed. But other characters were added in. I of course bought that one as well.
This is definitely an awesome game, and one that has flown very much under the radar. It would be nice if it were to get a re-release on current consoles. I do recommend checking it out for anyone who has a Wii (or go buy a cheap used Wii if you don't have one).
There was actually another semi major change (that doesn’t affect gameplay) that the American version had. No animated endings. That bummed me out when I finally played it a few years ago.

You played through Cross Generation and you didn’t know? But yeah. The Japanese version of TvC does have animated endings. You can find them on UA-cam. Personal favorites for me are Chun Li and Viewtiful Joe.

I think a big part of the reason I bought this game in 2010 for the Wii was the Shinkiro artwork on the cover. It really popped and caught my attention at Gamestop

Yeah I own the Wii version and it is awesome. They also released an arcade stick for this on the Wii that I wish I had. Hope to get it someday.

Yooo! I got this on the Wii and ordered from Japan when it first came out back in ‘08! Had to mod my Wii to play different region games... later they released it for U.S. Wii lol. I even bought Wii arcade sticks for this game. Seriously a VERY underrated fighting game solely because it was only on the Wii console and not ps3/xbox360. Dope cab!!

This video came up when looking up Tatsunoko figures or toys. I watched the whole video again. The weird thing is I saw George’s name pop up earlier on my Facebook page as people I may know. The name stuck out in my head from how it was spelled. Crazy! It’s a small world.

It's great to have a cheap cute little arcade cabinet.
Bu,here,it's probably better to buy a wood structure with sidearts,a lcd (or crt moniteur 15.31 khz) a supergun,a pc and all parts step by step.
The best way is of course a real arcade cabinet (a crt 15,24,31khz,stereo,jamma,jvs...or more modern like Vewlix 16.9 HD,hdmi and post jamma games) depend of what style of game you like.
Before having my arcade cabinet I was..ohhh..it's expensive,I have the same feeling with two arcade sticks,a mini pc emulator,ps3.4 on my big 4k screen with home theater sourround...but strangely no...the feeling is totally outside that.
Just open the Blast city,with the Hyperspin intro...or any other jamma board...is like have a real old vinyl on a lamp amplificator and a modern ipad sound (even the high grade multi effect).
So I'm confused, I thought u where putting a full Wii inside? But u got the board? Awesome man!!!! And yeh I've played it a bunch. I still play my Wii n GC on it tons

I'm excited to embark on a new venture! I've been really inspired by your Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars Arcade1up cabinet and aspire to recreate something similar. However, I intend to incorporate a Nintendo Wii 🎮 inside, as opposed to the standard PCB Arcade Board. Any ideas on how I could go about making a Nintendo Wii compatible with an arcade stick?
Ralph, I actually own this game. I have it in my Sega Blast city. I was lucky and got it for 400 usb. It came brand new with everything you have shown. This game is the predecessor for MvC3. I may do this conversion myself.

@@RetroRalph I currently have 2 blast cities, A big red Neo Geo 4 slot with memory card reader. I'm currently rocking the 161 in 1 cart in that. A Ms. Pacman Cab that I have the 60 in 1 inside. "I still have the Ms. Pacman pcbs inside stil.. I just disconnected them. I also have a Golden Axe 2 4-player. I'm trying to get my hands on the Spiderman arcade pcb which will slide right in without rewiring. I also just got 2 Street Fighter 2 1ups to mod. I preorderd the Marvel Superheroes limited edition cab yesterday. I'm debating on making a Dragonball Fighter Z 1up cab. I would definitely use the same graphics folks you used on your TvC 1up. It looks phenomenal. I do want a driving game like Outrun 2 and I'd like a shooter cab which I may build and run emulation. Have you played Gundam vs Gundam Next arcade game? If not, you should!! There's also the ellusive Dragon Ball Zenkai which never made it anywhere outside Japan and uses the Namco System 357 board "This inspired the PS3 platform."

family fun arcade in Granada Hills, CA had this imported and placed in an american-style arcade machine a few years ago. The place closed down several years ago, but I always wondered what happened to that cabinet.

Gameworks in Woodfield is an import. Used to play it a lot. Not a special cabinet at all either.
This game to me is amazing. I played with the Wii U using the Wii controller also I bought the arcade fighting stick. If you want it a little more challenging play with the fighting stick.

Question for you Ralph or to anyone that may be able to help do you know of a way I could run 2 different pcb boards on 1arcade 1up with some kind of splitter maybe I have a galaga cab but I also have just the pcb board for space invaders how could I make the cab play booth? Would welcome any ideas that would help I have run into dead ends when I look into it thanks

To this day, I wish Capcom would do whatever they need to do in terms of licensing to bring TvC:UAS or TvC:CGoH to other platforms, preferably PC... but at least the upcoming PS5 and whatever the next Xbox is gonna be called.

But it's been a while since some fans have been discussing how to play this game in the arcade version on the Dolphin emulator, but the developers don't have the card to emulate this game! It would be a good one, because this board is made very little and is rare so it is not worth saving and would satisfy some fans who set up arcades around the world, so the board could be borrowed for developers! @@joefreak2377 my sentiments exactly. Guy filed a refund claim after receiving the TvC and two candy cabs. I agreed on the stipulation he return both at his expense. He shipped me a box of wires and PayPal refunded him. Took two months arguing with paypal over the impossibilities of shipping two 400+lb cabinets via USPS before they finally set it right.

I remember playing this with just a Wii-Mote all it needs is 2 buttons different direction input= A different attack it's a fun game but not knowing who the characters were from Tatsunoko made me not care as much..
The game is fun and supers were awesome wouldn't mind having it on an arcade either a nice piece to add to your collection but if you gonna have only 1 vs Series game it should be Marvel VS Capcom 2 or get every vs Series and throw it in a cab that's the goal for me anyway lol
