Millions of BYU BASKETBALL fans worldwide 🌐 thank you
Last year reports were that Dawson baker was the best player on the team until injury hampered his year. It’s easy to forget he’s on the team since he wasn’t healthy last year. Of course practice and games are different things but there’s a lot of positivity about Baker making a surprisingly big impact
Great show, as an old (78) BYU BB Fan, I love your insights. BTW, all time greats BYU player is Krešimir "Krešo" Ćosić. a 6.11 Demin. You haven't heard of him because he turned down the NBA and went home to then Yugoslaviam
You are sleeping on Dawson baker guys trust me. Nobody thought Jaxson Robinson would be as good as he was last year off the bench for BYU.
I think it’s gonna be similar for Dawson baker this year tbh
I hope you’re right!
All accounts say Dawson's a dawg. He's been injured, so we've never really seen his potential. That said, he won't lead all scores or even be top 3.
Using four letter words may offend some of your byu viewers..... otherwise LOVE the content!!!
❤
Appreciate the projections. Pushing back against Torvik. The 4- and 5-star guys are gonna play. Dawson is good. But Dawson won't be playing like the stars that signed in the last few months. And appreciate the humor and fun.
Dawson Baker can hoop!
BYU will play every one that will help them win
If Dawson is truly healthy, I wouldn’t doubt him. Great scorer when 100%
Great content! Thanks for covering BYU!
I think you guys are right that it’s going to be a committee with the scoring. I think towards the end of the season, Demon and catching will probably be the leading scores. But not the first few months while they take a little time to get adjusted to the college game, love the show and the love for the cougars. Look forward to seeing you guys in Provo next year.

So think of Dawson baker as a replacement for spencer Johnson. Similar skills and experience. He’s a 3 point shooter who should help open up the floor for the freshmen.
Loved Spencer Johnson
BYU has a bounty of 6’5ish white guys who can shoot, pass and rebound. Hall, Baker, Knell, Saunders. It’s like a kennel of golden retrievers that just gonna make you smile. Got some bruisers in Keita and Traore. Talent and athleticism in Catchings, Denim and Mboup. And an ancient wise one in Mag. … and then koz and Crawford who will get time as well, It’s a fun roster.
Recent commit Khadim Mboup is another 6'9" guy who is a wing/F type player from NBA Africa
If Dawson’s healthy the BIG12 better be ready 💪💙
A healthy Dawson baker is an all BIG12 first team.
BYU’s avg height this coming season is 6’7”
The only question mark with Baker is if he is 100% after a foot injury.
Will Baker average 17 points? 90% chance that he won’t. Will he play and contribute? Most definitely.
A 3 year double digit scorer in college isn’t someone that doesn’t contribute, and has the ability to average double digits again.
He is very crafty, and makes his money at the line. Knows how to get to his spots and converts at the line when fouled.
Injuries happen! Depth is everything!
"also we can be bought" and carter nodding in agreement got me good
The leading scores honestly will be Saunders, Hall, and Fous. You could also argue Knell. Everyone else is fill in around them, including the Freshman and Baker. Early season the Freshman/Transfers are 6-8 PPG, late season 8-12 PPG. Hall, Saunders, and Fous will be the most consistent with 13+ ppg.
Dawson Baker is a beast, he was hurt last year. I think he will contribute but not 17 ppg.
Starters:
Hall
Demin
Saunders
Catchings
Fous
I think theyll start keba over fous. Fous is good off the bench and keba is just more athletic
@@sam-r7n1r Keba also doesn't need the ball in his hands to have a huge impact (better defender, rebounder, slasher). He pairs better with our high usage starters than Fous, who can be a bit of a black hole on the block. Much better to let Fous be a terror coming off the bench and abusing backup 5s in the post.
I think Mawot Mag might start for his defense
KYU BAYYYPIIII 💙🫡😎
Booker ❤
I hope Hall is the second leading scorer on this team, they woods finish bottom 3 in the big 12 if Hall is the second best scorer, there’s no way he averages more than Richie. And Catchings projections are right and I’ll remind you guys of that all season when he ends up being the 10th man of the bench
Then your projections and Torvik's don't agree, because his have Catchings as the 8th guy in the rotation (12.4 min/game). And his projections are known for underrating freshmen.
This team has plenty of creators, we need shooting and length to go alongside and Catchings provides both of those in spades. I'd be very surprised if he wasn't getting at least 15-20 minutes a night by the time we're in B12 play.
@@purpleplusgold no the right on his points, really he’s to high on Catchings, I like Egor and Saunders to be top 3 guys on this team, there both better than Hall, which would be good for this team. But idk why people keep saying Catchings can bet a lottery pick because it’s not going to happen well it might happen but after he plays a couple years in college he’s not a one and done, he’s a 4 star with good size and length but he will have trouble with the physicality in the big 12 and he needs to shoot better, he’s not starting enough to bang down low and not consistent enough to be a deep threat, this team will be best when egor is running the point with freedom, idk much about the guy he has leading the team in scoring but he better be as good as advertised if this team will compete in the big 12. And I’m not saying that any Cannon because of where he plays I’m just not that high on him and playing at OTE only helps with iso skills, it’s not a team league maybe I’m wrong but I think he’s to struggle jus first year
