    you say you're making things simple but it seems to me that it would be much more simple to make one video for the whole A/C system replacement. Not only would it be more simple, but it would be much more easy to follow. Besides that decent video. It would be awesome if you actually showed what to do though, just pointing at stuff and saying "oh yeah just take that off" makes it difficult to follow if it's your first time and don't know what you're doing.

    I have a 1995 Ford f150, 5.0 L V8, extend cap. It's never had A/C, and I'm looking to install it. This video covers quite a bit, but after watching it, it's obvious there's more to installing a complete system in a truck that has never had it (wiring harness, evaporator core, vacuum lines, cab control station etc.). Two questions
    1. Are there complete system kits available? If so can you give me a link?
    2. I'm reasonably handy. I can certainly do all the things in this video myself, but seeing that there's more involved with a complete system, would I be better off taking it to a shop and having it done?

    My ac compressor took a crap on my 96 5.0 bronco. I found your video and decided to change everything out since you guys made it look relatively easy. Took me about 3 hours to change everything out including the evaporator. Now it blows nice and cold. Thanks for the vid.

    Evaporator is inside the box. Along with the Blower motor on the left side. the clutch cycling switch is on that filter drier. You got your low pressure line which I think is on the firewall, and your high side line which is below. and your compressor which is above your power steering pump. it's below mine on the 4.9 but they basically work the same. I have to replace my power steering pump soon anyways. I'll probably do all these things in unison. I have to remove my radiator when doing the job in the first place to get my power steering pump out.

    Good video. I have to do all this to my 92 F150 5.0. I like the real people talk. Not trying to impress anyone, just real normal guy talk. Thanks.

    Always appreciate watching the hard work before attempting it myself. The 80-96 F Series are a DIY dream. Would have appreciated some info on recharging, system pressures etc. Good info for sure,

    Do I need to have my system evacuated if I'm just taking the compressor off and putting in a bypass pully? Or is that for if I had to replace the receiver dryer?

    • @2MostlyBaldGuysKC
      @2MostlyBaldGuysKC  4 роки тому +2

      Anytime you open the system you have to have it evacuated.

      Low pressure switch, I would replace everytime you replace the accumulator, especially if your converting an R12 to R134 you'll need pag 46 oil in the compressor and adapters to change from r12 if this is a conversion only like a 91 and older. It's a good idea to get some AC flush fluid when converting to R134 I believe 92 f series went to R134 so some of procedures isn't nessasary

      Hi Dave, is the ac system in the 89 the same as in the 96? I need to get all the parts to install ac on my 89 f150 as it doesn't have ac and I have been searching to find if I could get parts from the 96 and they would fit as they are easier to find

  • @amberharvey4350

    Did you guys have to do any adjustments to the radiator support for the condenser to fit? I have a 96 F150 with the 4.9 motor and Ford no longer sells the factory condenser. I ordered a spectra premium 7-4531 and that didn’t fit at all. I just redid my radiator support so I don’t want to be cutting or grinding onto it. Thanks in advance!

    Hello, the nut attached to the tub that goes into that box( 8:27 )wouldn’t break from the ac receiver dryer and so it got bent somewhat sadly. Does anyone have videos or a diagram on how to replace that tube? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Can you please do a video on how to install ac condensor pusher fan in front of the condensor fan? Because my ac works great and is ice cold when
    moving down the road. But when i am stuck at a traffic light the ac goes warm on me i am also keeping my mechanical clutch fan and factory fan.
