John Henry would be lying on the floor crying if he could see that MOW equipment driving spikes so quickly and easily. The whole process was just fantastic to watch--thank you!
It's my very first time seeing railroad track maintenance cars working on track! Absolutely amazing watching the precision built into these cars! I've often wondered how they actually replaced ties and spikes and dealt with the roadbed gravel? I was mesmerised watching them all work together in unison! Very cool 😎 👌 😊❤
As you all know, I love block signals that drop...and today was no exception, thank you. However, your tribute on the locomotive from UP was really classy. And then (drum role), I really was fascinated with the MOW in Whitchta, KS. THAT was so interesting and then the distant shot of all the machines rounding the bend in the background was priceless. I think I will rewind that again!!!
Watching the maintenance equipment was fascinating. Some of the ties they left in the track were pretty rotted out in my opinion. And some of the ties removed actually looked pretty good.
11:08. To the couple, get a room! 😂 Ahhh, love by the railroad. Just like the movies. Big Game train? Love watching the machines used for maintenance. Ingenious!
Double DPU action in Chattanooga with PRR GE ES44AC in lash up,scenic at Horseshoe Curve, alot better lighting on new cam in Roanoke VA, cool 😎 to see Conductor throw out gift to railfans,I've had that happen a couple of times when I was filming in Wytheville VA, threw out a safety key chain NS and a Blue Ridge Division hat at Montgomery Tunnel near Shawsville and Christiansburg VA, nice crews, nice video and footage, enjoyed the MOW equipment!🛤🚂

After Seeing the Tens of Thousands of Old Used Railroad Ties, it’s Great to See them efficiently getting Picked Up and Safely Disposed of Somehow, Somewhere. 🤔
They go into bigger piles and sit for ages. To dispose of them in the landfill they have a manifest for non hazardous waste ? That makes no sense to me I’ve hauled a lot of them and they just get buried with the rest of the trash. Not far from me vandals set a big pile on fire by the NS tracks years ago . They can’t be used for much because the old ones pressure treated with creosote are haz mat. I had a job site in Louisville by the river off bells lane that was a tie plant for the old L&N and that whole place is off limits they dug a hole for us to wash out concrete mixers and it stunk of creosote ! And it had been shut down for over 50 years. It’s nasty stuff .
I have sort of mixed feelings about seeing those Wabash and Pennsylvania heritage units being relegated to DPU service. It is kind of a bonus catch when you see them later in the consist, but it feels like they should be up front, flying the fallen flags proudly.
@steveperry3572 My father needed some ties to rebuild a bridge across a small creek on our farm, and magically enough ties to do the job appeared. Of course, his brother in law happened to work on a track gang on the branch line that crossed our farm, so there is that.
I really enjoy seeing the DPU'S i don't know why I just do and this is another awesome episode of Virtual Railfan Grab Bag with my favorite trains around the country especially in my home state of Oklahoma take care everyone and have a blessed Easter Sunday Thank You.🇺🇲🤠🇺🇲 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲🇨🇦💨💨
If red pickup had gone when he was supposed to…before that white suv, he’d had never been in the intersection for blue car to hit’m! Overly cautious drivers are a menace, too!
The old Theory one thing leads to another when looking at those pressurized cars. The name of the firm on the white car went from Pennick & Ford to Pennwest and then Penford Products. The NLSX car you pointed out stands for National Starch Co which later became part of ICI Industrial Chemicals. The only car missing was a ÇCLX car which stood for CPC International \ Corn Products Corp are their Freight cars were yellow and black. Mergers and buyouts has now wiped out all those names as separate entities but their reporting marks live on as the companies are now part of the Ingredion family. Someone asked me about some of these firms in the last year and now the rest of the story is no longer a mystery
Would you please stop playing that gimpy 'Pacman' sound whenever a CP symbol appears on a railcar? Maybe it was funny once, but . . . that was many, many years ago!!
I love watching the MOWs in action.
John Henry would be lying on the floor crying if he could see that MOW equipment driving spikes so quickly and easily. The whole process was just fantastic to watch--thank you!
Interesting watching the MOW equipment doing their thing.
I could watch those MOW machines all day long. Fascinating!
That “something” at Elkhart was a vest. I was the one who got it. Earlier that day the engineer tossed me 61W’s paperwork
Thanks for the info--I so wondered!!
😂😅😂😅🎉❤
Thanks for the mow equipment I like watching mow equipment do there work
The MOW machines were fascinating. Thanks!!

Thanks for the sequence on track maintenance. I've often wondered what those weird machines do!
Enjoy all the videos and Fantastic video on the Maintenance crew repair track.

Really enjoyed watching the track gang. Thanks.
Same here . Amazing how automated it has become. .

Hats off to the cam operator....great job! NS is doing tie work west of Cleveland, I'll get to see that crew in action.
Spettacolari catture ❤
thank you for bringing the camera back in Springfield Massachuetts
The video was one of the most interesting ones y'all have done! Thanks! 👍
Great GB ! In Wichita Those Mow Workers are Earning their Pay ! We’ve Come a long way Gang !😂👍🏽! Still can’t drive in LaGrange Ky 😂
AC/DC's "Who Made Who" came to mind during the MOW/tie replacement segment in Wichita.
I believe that’s a 4 way stop in La Grange. Doesn’t look like the car even hit the brakes.
It is 4 way.
@@cbuehlercbuehler yeah, and they even hit their horn while running the stop-sign.
Now that was interesting video of the worker bees.

You liked BNSF1104 and company so much you had to replay it again a minute later. 7:05 and 8:30
Would like to go to the Curve just to look at the rocks, Eastern Geology is so interesting, and yes the track planners have to keep that in mind...
Very cool🎉🎉
Enjoyed!
*Awesome*
26:00 Coming soon to to a landscape supply store near you.
It's grap bag Time

Hey guys!!! The video at 8:29, repeats at 8:32. FYI!
I've got a photo of that BNSF train here in san antonio on the twenty fourth with a Depressed Well car with the transformer on it that I took
Another of the ones that have left Louisville that still drive like they still live there (they are good at running stop signs )
They still need a human to put the tie plate on the end of the tie. That looks like the only step that machines don't do. Awesome
I saw that a few years ago, they had a long rod and hook and slid it over into position. No bending over there!
All I can think of when I see that collision is the voice from 3D Ultra Lionel Traintown saying, "That's a Fender-Bender!"
4:59 Horror !!! Train ran over a ghost.
9:05 It sure is sad to see those Montana Rail Link pusher locomotive lashups broken up and single locis on the tracks to Vancouver's Neptune port.
3:57 I saw the same locomotive on l324
Wonder why these engines aren't washed more often, like UPS does their trucks....service, fuel wash rack, hit the road, huh?
Railroads tend to wash locomotives more often during the warmer months.
Awesome grab bad as always 😊, really enjoy watching the demolition project on the Kansas City Missouri,Doc,s Caboose east cam location

That’s a lot of old railroad ties on that truck
My uncle got permission to get some one time and he made a massive gazebo out of them.

Unload this side only. Probably cause the gate openers either are better oiled for turning radius or the other side doesn’t have them.

I thought that intersection was a 4-way stop? 😖😳
YUUUP!
Marklin produced a Pennsylvania HO locomotive with number 8102 for their 2024 new items.
@ 5:05 RAIL GHOST!
The packaging from lunch. 😅
At 09:32, a solid hit. Then the car goes the wrong way.
Sure would like to know just what becomes of those worn out ties!
hello Virtual Railfan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Virtual Railfan & Friends Randy
Coal keeps the lights on and the EV’s charged.
It looks like something that they don't have
Awesome
May need to have all railroad company to help with Baltimore 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️
we have trains in Florida!
26:26 Me trying to grab all of the potato chips in the bag and failing miserably.
It’s a roasty-toasty fake bonnet.
I hope BNSF doesn't repaint the Montana Rail locomotives
