You’re a great guy to stop and help other drivers. We need more people like you.Merry Christmas to you and your family and best of luck in the new year.
My great grandfather was a trucker way back before cb radios, licenses, or dot. Other drivers are all you had, today you’re pulling me out, next week some one is bringing you gas. Good on you for stopping. Merry Christmas and god bless
Dude I can’t believe you took that load. I was in Tacoma too and actually called on that load but when they told me it was containers, I was like no way! Then I wondered what sucker would take it as it was on the load board forever, lol. Good video and great job helping those people out! I was delayed getting across Snoqualmie pass too because people had spun out and they actually closed it for several hours going eastbound.
stopping to check on the other truckers like a true gent! OK Piglet! Maybe good to keep some tire chains on the truck in case you run into some of the snowy hills
Something I've often thought about building on my gooseneck is a platform on the neck that is hinged at the front (build it light weight, but heavy enough you can throw your tires up there). Then put a electric lift cylinder at the rear to lift the back to create a ramp/ transition to direct air up over the containers.
These are the videos i enjoy watching the most. Just you being on the road making those dollars! Love the adventures man! Keep em coming! Merry chrismas from a rainy country called The Netherlands 😁😁
Good Alex for trying to help other fellow truckers. I didn't know he was In the Northwest. I live in Yakima WA 😀. I'm a truck driver myself but I work for a local company.
Dam! Only 60 lbs to spare! I have been called on those containers so many times and I always tell them the same thing! NO! You know why! Glad you made it safely. I am getting out of my comfort zone and now you got me worried! LOL! I always said I wouldn’t do it in the winter, but money talks!
Good job brother! You have a lot of videos and I plan to watch them cause I'm seriously thinking of doing the hotshot. I'm 58 and looking to do it for few years to continue putting $$ in social security. Kids are grown and got one more in college. Stay safe and I hope I get a chance to ask you a few questions in the near future.
You should get some led lights.. I have a 14 Laramie with the same headlights and these are 1000x better than the stock bulbs. Plug and play. They don't overheat and they put off enough heat to keep the ice and snow melted off. Called Auxito 9005 (HB3) Headlight LED BULB CONVERSION KIT They will make you love your truck more at night. I've used then for 3 years.
You’re awesome. Good hearted for pulling over and seeing if you can help. Also is that a mega cab duality in the run with the containers ? I haven’t driven a mega cab dually. Wish they made a mega cab long bed dually.
2300 miles at 6mpg. +380 gallons of dsl. $2 a gallon $760 in fuel? 40 hours drive? Pay yourself $15 hr $600. $1360. All other costs. I do wonder if anyone has looked into streamlining conex boxes? I got over 6mpg at 80k in a semi. 425 Cat. Yrs back. My worst in a 1 ton was 8.8mpg. Oversize, over height. Limited to 50 mph
How do you not triple strap those containers? Also, I used to live pretty close to that Pilot in Tacoma where he got the scale ticket. That area is right by the Tacoma Port, lots of containers moving around there. One time was crossing in the crosswalk with the signal and some double container truck (two 40footers, two trailers) just cuts right in front of me and I had to run back as it finished it's turn. Busy place full of morons.
Once stopped to help a guy on 20a in New York and ended up in the ditch myself. at night kids cryin, waiting hrs for tow truck. some good Sam tried pulling me out and ended up breaking the front axle off the frame by hitting a culvert. I’d love to help ppl out but unless the cars upside down or burning I ain’t stopping no more, to unsafe and dangerous with snowy roads Merry Christmas brother
realistically not much you can do for a guy in that situation anyway. Everybody has a cell phone now to call for help and you don't want to be a sitting duck on a highway like that. Bad idea to be out there in those conditions in the first place.
I’m not a hot shot but I do haul for my self and friends some. Could u make a wind visor coming off of your trailer or truck for hauling those shipment? Get better MPG
Congratulations on your container load, talk about Long Haul Trucking. I’m surprised you can’t buy those containers any closer than the Pacific Northwest. Hope you get another good load. Love your channel keep those videos coming. Drive carefully my friend.
I think there’s a container shortage right now in the shipping industry which trickles down to everyone in the states looking to buy for their particular project. Not sure if that’s a real shortage or an artificial one.
You should put ur expenses at the end of the video like if u got paid 4 k u should do a list of like 100$ on food 500 on diesel etc 100 on a repair you know ? And then show what u reslly made over those 4 k Awesome video!
I saw load mizers video he said A lot of good things about you and if you do check out the comments on it too. I never knew you were such a nice person.
My opinion only...do NOT stop on the shoulder for any reason. You should call 911 and let them handle it. 27 years OTR. I've seen too many wrecks exactly like this.
Don't mean this to be a stupid question but were those containers loaded or empty? Because if they were empty its not worth paying to ship them when you can buy two 20 footers anywhere. TP
My fiancé is from Kentucky and we’re in Montana now, other states pay the same price as hay for straw from Montana and other states where there’s a ton of wheat so I wonder if it would pencil out for him to haul down to the south
When I use to tow my 20,000 lb fifth wheel with my 16 Ram 3500 (GCW 29,880 110 gal fuel) Asian, 4:10, the truck would always do better in 5th gear, rpms equal to 4:30 gears, and get 10.1 to 10.3 mpg. 9.1 in 6th. Can’t remember is the Mega Cab has 3:73’s or what. But if it’s a 68RFE you want to keep the load off the tranny as much as possible. Running in 5th will help that. I still have my 16 Ram that sits when I’m gone with my rig as I’ve said before, I’m pulling with a Class 6 truck now as the fuel load and trailer pin weight (4400-4600lbs) puts me over the Rams GVW of 14,000 lbs.
Question, so if your gcvwr is 26k, and let's say the truck fully loaded weighs 11k and the trailer 7k, are you putting 8k on the trailer for a total of 15k even though it's down rated for 12k?
@Tow Piglet - seems like I've heard you mention it across a few videos but definitely heard it on this one - why is the NW a tougher market? Seems like between the various shipping ports and whatnot industries that this would be a good market?
100 percent the last thing you do when stuck is unhook your load. Think about it, you get your truck free then they have to drag your trailer from the ditch.
Hello Alex, quick question, would you get better mileage with a 10 speed F350? And if so, why did you not opt to buy a 10 speed instead of your ram 8'bed mega cab?
I love how you stop and check on everyone in the freezing cold. Awesome job ❤️
Joe Caudle yea you don’t see people doing that on the road anymore
Very true
If there were alot more people on the road like you this world would be so much happier to live in
You really are the king of hotshots! Out here helping guys and giving away tarps. The big dog always gets the haters..
You’re a great guy to stop and help other drivers. We need more people like you.Merry Christmas to you and your family and best of luck in the new year.
Your a nice guy for stopping and offering help
My great grandfather was a trucker way back before cb radios, licenses, or dot. Other drivers are all you had, today you’re pulling me out, next week some one is bringing you gas. Good on you for stopping. Merry Christmas and god bless
GOD BLESS YOU FOR STOPPING FOR PEOPLE IN DISTRESS IN THE SNOW!
As a owner operator out here i wan to thank you for stopping just to make sure that people are OK
Dude I can’t believe you took that load. I was in Tacoma too and actually called on that load but when they told me it was containers, I was like no way! Then I wondered what sucker would take it as it was on the load board forever, lol. Good video and great job helping those people out! Thank you for slowing down and helping the fellow truck drivers!! Nice video!!
Good on you for stopping and checking on everyone 👍👍 but we neeeed longer videos lol even if it's just driving through the snow we will watch it.
To take the time to check on others is just priceless. Dude do you ever not laugh? Just another level respects
Props on helping your fellow drivers!
You need to get a CB Radio in that truck!
Your a good man Charlie Brown!! Always helping everyone. Good Karma bro. See ya out there soon. 👍✌️
thats nice of you that you stopped for that guy thanks buddy
This really shows a sense of community. Its quite wholesome
We get wet snow here on west coast. Gets really slippery the first few inches. In the Rockies that much snow would not be an issue
stopping to check on the other truckers like a true gent! OK Piglet! Maybe good to keep some tire chains on the truck in case you run into some of the snowy hills
Tow Piglet to the rescue. "Great job Alex!" Thanks for sharing.
Something I've often thought about building on my gooseneck is a platform on the neck that is hinged at the front (build it light weight, but heavy enough you can throw your tires up there). Then put a electric lift cylinder at the rear to lift the back to create a ramp/ transition to direct air up over the containers.
There is a better way - if containers is all your doing.
Cost - would take a some time to pay for it.
Helping out your fellow truckers👍
u stop and help those people u r a true gentle man way to go Alex
just got in from plowing snow, and now to watch a video before going to bed.
TP Putting on his Superman mode on! LOVE ❤️ IT!!
These are the videos i enjoy watching the most. Just you being on the road making those dollars! Love the adventures man! Keep em coming!
Merry chrismas from a rainy country called The Netherlands 😁😁
Wow alex.
I admire you, god bless you.
Hopefully one day i get to shake your hand, ppl like you we need more in the world.
It makes me incredibly happy that you stoo to check, doesnt happen anywhere enough these days
Good Alex for trying to help other fellow truckers.
I didn't know he was In the Northwest. I live in Yakima WA 😀.
I'm a truck driver myself but I work for a local company.
I live in the mountains of New Hampshire and I still get anxiety watching videos of trucks driving in the snow.
Alex your a good man! Stoping to help your fellow truckers. 👍
Dam! Only 60 lbs to spare! I have been called on those containers so many times and I always tell them the same thing! NO! You know why! Glad you made it safely. I am getting out of my comfort zone and now you got me worried! LOL! I always said I wouldn’t do it in the winter, but money talks!
Good way to start my day! Watching a video from tow piglet and the MEGALONG!! Be safe out there alex.
Good job brother! You have a lot of videos and I plan to watch them cause I'm seriously thinking of doing the hotshot. I'm 58 and looking to do it for few years to continue putting $$ in social security. Kids are grown and got one more in college. Need to show more driving in the snow buddy but thanks for the video and keep up all ur good work.
This is why I park during the winter. It's not worth the problem of getting stuck or even worse. I'll reconsider getting on the road in the spring.
NEVER UNHOOK WHEN YOUR STUCK !!!!
God bless all Patriots! Merry Christmas! 🇺🇸🎄🇺🇸
Awesome video I went from Miami to Iowa and that’s no joke and I only had a 30 foot boat 👍🏼👍🏼
First snows of the year are a doosey bruh.. safe travels homes!
Can you please explain the pros and cons of having a cdl vs not having one in your biz?
You should get some led lights.. I have a 14 Laramie with the same headlights and these are 1000x better than the stock bulbs. Plug and play. They don't overheat and they put off enough heat to keep the ice and snow melted off.

Absolutely love that positive energy man.
You’re awesome. Good hearted for pulling over and seeing if you can help. Also is that a mega cab duality in the run with the containers ? I haven’t driven a mega cab dually. Wish they made a mega cab long bed dually.
Thanks, I no longer have that truck but it awesome. It was stretched to be a mega cab long bed
425 Cat. Yrs back.

Lol 4k for 2,300 miles. I would have fired my dispatcher right then and there. Should have been. $9200 minimum
If it were a semi truck load...
If your customers wonder why there loads are late they need to watch your videos😂
Anytime you're all in containers on a flatbed you need to have change and binders on it not just straps it's against the law
Thank you 🙏🏻
I haul containers for a living and have never heard that from any cop.
loving the videos!
Keep rolling. Thanks for checking on truck family. Who do you use for dispatch
Good job Alex!!!
you have a great demeanor! Well done

Congrats on 100k! Keep up the great content
I love your videos! Keep them coming.
Awesome work man. Keep it up.

I’m getting a 50ft 60 ton lowboy delivered from Ohio to Seattle it’s $6600
Great video ! Man that’s no fun out there.... 🥶 Be safe buddy
So that less then $2. a mile you an your dispatch are not counting the fuel loss in price.
Cool that you stopped to check on your fellow hot shot guy. Snow is not fun
I live 60 miles north of ft Campbell so welcome to KY lol
Washington state requires chains for container loads,!
Good trip. Another good video.
Be safe.
Alex. Have you entertained the idea of a wing? Possibly a removable one?
MERRY CHRISTMAS alex to you and family
Good looking out for another driver
Congratulations on your container load, talk about Long Haul Trucking. I’m surprised you can’t buy those containers any closer than the Pacific Northwest. Hope you get another good load. Love your channel keep those videos coming. Drive carefully my friend.
I think there’s a container shortage right now in the shipping industry which trickles down to everyone in the states looking to buy for their particular project. Not sure if that’s a real shortage or an artificial one.
If you always stopping on the side of the road often you should get a Amber light bar
I think you’re a super nice guy man. Keep it up.
You need a ramp storage on that trailer for sure brotha
You should put ur expenses at the end of the video like if u got paid 4 k u should do a list of like 100$ on food 500 on diesel etc 100 on a repair you know ?
And then show what u reslly made over those 4 k
Awesome video!
I roughly calculated 1/3 of the $4000 is just for diesel. Is that about standard? Even considering the wind drag?
yup.
I saw load mizers video he said A lot of good things about you and if you do check out the comments on it too. I never knew you were such a nice person.
Typically tow piglet always helping people
Did the one jackknifed have safety triangles, and if so why didn't he put them out -
My opinion only...do NOT stop on the shoulder for any reason. You should call 911 and let them handle it. 27 years OTR. I've seen too many wrecks exactly like this.
Great video, Merry Christmas to you and family..Be safe out there, have a great day..😀👍☕️🍫🇺🇸🎁
Be careful my friend! Merry Christmas
Alex, what do you prefer better, your RAM or the F350 and Why?
HELLO, & Happy Holidays to you & yours, later CSE
I work at the blue beacon in walton ky if your every coming threw I work 4pm to 12 am I’ll give you a free wash
Thank you 🙏🏻
Don't mean this to be a stupid question but were those containers loaded or empty? Because if they were empty its not worth paying to ship them when you can buy two 20 footers anywhere. TP
Have you seen the new trailer with the new step deck
My fiancé is from Kentucky and we’re in Montana now, other states pay the same price as hay for straw from Montana and other states where there’s a ton of wheat so I wonder if it would pencil out for him to haul down to the south
you should get one of those giant, ridiculous air deflectors
Hey Man! Keep the good work! Don’t take the bait!
Alex you have been to Tacoma. Do you think you could hotshot recreationally out of the NW. That means it's a retirement job scenario.
9.1 in 6th. Wow, thats a hell of a load for a p/u I'd say.
All roads lead to Tacoma. Once you've been there you will always come back there.
City of destiny
Great Video Alex
You’re a little crazy going into the season to be inspected with such a long truck (get my twist on the season to be merry? Haha...no? Okay)
Question, so if your gcvwr is 26k, and let's say the truck fully loaded weighs 11k and the trailer 7k, are you putting 8k on the trailer for a total of 15k even though it's down rated for 12k?
