    Ingredients
    - 1 cup of whole hemp seeds
    - 4 cups of (spring) water
    - 1 vanilla bean
    - 1 dried date
    Preparation
    As with all nut / seed “milks” they are very simple to make and important bit of equipment you need is a nut milk bag.
    Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend.
    Now put it through a nut milk bag to leave only the smooth hemp milk.

    I'm glad I stumbled upon this video, other people on UA-cam haven't done as well to outline this process. I would've liked if Olive mentioned using the left over hemp shells in a compost or as animal feed for sustainable gardening, otherwise, this video was awesome!

    Why you didn't soak the seeds before? is there a reason? because as any seed it needs to be activated. Thanks in advance.

      I’ve been trolling up and down the comments wiring Soak Seeds First lol. She should really remove this video because it could cause a lot more harm to people and their blenders if they don’t soak the seeds first. And the milk won’t taste nice at all!

    Could you make health recipes with the leftovers from the hemp seeds? You wouldn’t need to throw it away .

    • @Girlilla
      @Girlilla 5 років тому +5

      Daniela Nastuta Firstly, it’s absolutely best to soak the unshelled seeds (shell still on) in water! When they have sunk they are ready to blend. I add dates, a splash of maple syrup and a pinch of salt. I extract the milk, and the pulverised shell that’s left in the bag I mix with chia seeds, chopped dates and powdered gluten free oats and then shape them in cookie cutters and dry them (dehydrator/low oven) and they make yummy crunchy cookie bites. They don’t look appealing as the chia and hemp are black but I usually spread a tinnnnyyyy bit of sprinkles or icing on the top (any decoration really) so my kids are tricked 😈

    Hi there, I’ve just started making hemp milk and I was wondering if you had any tips on stopping it from curdling when it’s added to tea or coffee? Thanks.

    • @elledix3575
      @elledix3575 4 роки тому +2

      Hi I find the same problem with other milks like soya and rice. I find if you wait for the coffee/tea to cool a bit before adding it doesn't curdle.

    I love how she talks about how much she likes the straining process whilst instead of doing it in the sink (maybe it was just for this recording) hemp milk is squirting out in random projections over her workplace

    • @zoran6126

      I am not doing it in the sink and for me it is not sprinkling all over the place. it depends on how is your technics of squishing

    My country (Australia) is now thinking of making hemp seeds legal.

    • @Usernameemanr

      ...why are they illegal?

    • @gesman5000
      @gesman5000 7 років тому +3

      Golden Goddess Because Australia is way to paranoid to any form of cannabis. Luckily now there is a huge push backed by the Tasmanian government to legalise hemp. Technically I can still buy hemp but the packaging has to say not for human consumption.

      Golden Goddess Guess what. On the 22nd Australia finally legalised hemp for consumption! This is a big win in the war for legalisation.
