Disagree, some things can trigger memories, the texture of something, the smell etc. Yes we can photograph things, but many would agree that's not the same. Maybe we should ask ourselves if we actually need those memories? But to say we will remember without the physical triggers is not always true.. you guys are still young.. you may have a different view in 30 yrs..
I agree. But saving things that remind you of very little is always a bad idea. Memories disappear over time, but can be refreshed with items. Things I made as a child, mean a lot to me now, because in this period of my life, I feel very lost and forgot what I was. I desperately feel the need to be something, and having those things around me. The brain can do a lot on its own, but the brain changes and memories get mixed up. Some things of the past just provide a feeling of comfort that nothing else can. Being able to let go of your past self completely, and being a new you, is incredibly difficult. Not just choice-wise.
I like that, do we need those memories. It’s nice to go through old stuff and reminisce based on being triggered, but truly, without some of those triggers would life be less rich in comparison to the value of mental peace of a cleared space? I think I’m happy to prioritise that clarity over overvaluing everything I can remember about my entire whole life. Not forgetting all behind but appreciating that not everything we can remember is important to recall. The important things should be prioritised and will rise to the top with this perspective.
Ok so i might seem stupid but my console has created lots of memories and i gave away my older one and regretted. Now i have to sell my console because of a bad financial situation and i cant bring my self to do it can somebody help?
This is a realization that every widowed person, myself included has to come to grips with. Tuff stuff but very true.

Disagree for disabled people with severe memory loss.... I can't remember unless I see a photo or touch the item.
