  • Who doesn't love stories that take our breath away, specifically when they are based on our memories? In the Deaf community we share unimaginable experiences from our everyday lives. We use visually expressive ways using ASL.
So, I would love to share the story one of my favorite memories from when I was young!
My family loves to go on roadtrips all over the country together. My older brother and I loved to stare at the lightning as it flashed everywhere. And then something unexplainable happened in front of our eyes! Come and watch my video for the rest of the story!

Learning ASL; even though I was only able to pick out individual words this was a great benefit to my learning! Please keep doing these! Thank you!

I remember as very little kids my brother and I bike riding through a storm, the lightening came down about 300 feet maybe half the distance to the end of the block. I stayed on my bike but my brother fell. I remember crying so hard and helping him get on his bike, when we came home my mom took care of him hahahaha. He was a good older brother too. It was crazy. I thought we were gonna die. I cant imagine it actually hitting your car. Awesome story! I wonder if that gradual return of color to your eyes from the bright white was a scientific thing behind the extreme exposure of electric energy/light. Keep up the good work 💪

I'm been learning ASL for the past 7 months. What I do understand that he was with his family and he went for a drive with his brothers. He's explaining how he was sitting inbewteen his brothers it started lightning outside loke crazy. It got really bad and hit the back of the truck which scared them really bad and. But they made it home safe. Im sure im missing a little but that is what get for now. As i said im still pretty new at this but the fact i can even get that much in such a short time surprises me lol. I may have to watch it a few more times lol.

Then he told the story to his friend, who said basically "No way, you're making that up!" "No, its true, my brother was there!" He asked his brother if he remembers it, brother was like "I remember it clearly. It happened"
