Dave was like this from childhood.
I have to admit it at 1:0100 The door story made me cry. Wow profound ❤
Dave could talk underwater
I love when Dave says he’s the slowest eater at a dinner table….cuz he never stops talking 🤪🤪🤪
Great to see the entire D.L.R. #1660 experience on your channel. Cheers.
David Lee Roth approaching 70 years old is a milestone and a mircle.
Dave was perfect for The Van Halen Bros! Rock and Rolls Last Man Standing!!!
I'm 12 minutes in and I'm exhausted
LOL I thought it was just me
I need an fn Ativan!! Turning off now🥴😵💫🫨
I made it 2:08
It is worth the effort - I have Dave to be both interesting and inspiring. He is much more artsy and intellectual than you would expect.
You dig
😂I love how DLR laughs at his own jokes …. He’s definitely 💯 an interesting cat
Dave is a real life cartoon character. Theres no containing this guy.
JRE & staff... THANK YOU!! I'm 58 and recently turned on to your podcast, a year ago I didnt know what one was. Your guests your team and you JRE. BTW my initials are JRE. HEY DIAMOND DAVE YOU LIFTED MY SPIRIT When I started to really listen...
Dave has been a pothead for years and I think it's affected his brain but I think he knows exactly what he's doing and saying at all times.
I've passed on clicking this a few times, because I thought this was the first interview that they did a few years ago. I didn't realize it was just 4 months old. Love to hear Diamond's monologues!
My dad was best friends with Alex Van Halen when they were 15 16 17 years old. They played in my backyard before David Lee Roth was the lead singer
that is so cool!!
I saw Van Halen in 85 in the Bay area one of the most awesome concerts I've ever seen I was mesmerized by Dave and Eddie!
“Brakes is gone, we freewheelin’ “
I hope Dave comes back on the show, he’s been making videos with older footage and not appearing in them. Always an entertaining storyteller.
this guy owns the interview and makes joe look like a struggling amateur LOL you cant beat that energy, this dude is the life :D
Joe was absolutely lost especially towards the end.
Smoker’s Laugh.
Productive cough, too.
I’m always drawn to interviews of DLR but I usually have no idea what he’s talking about. 😳
he most likely would tell you the same thing..
Really? Everything he says is just straight up. The point of almost everything he says is to provide a common denominator for all people, all the time.
@@Twotontessie straight up?.. are we talking about the same DLR?. no more erroneous statement could be spoke. ever.
if 20 sober people in a room ask DLR how the weather outside is, currently, 45min later they will exit room. their ears will oddly be all red & when you ask them if they know how the weather outside is? at least 5 of them will have no idea what ,"the weather" means, & youll get fifteen different answers ranging from torrential downpours to drought. nor'easters to heat waves. the ironic thing? none of them wil be accurate.
but it sounds good!😄
And don't we fucking love it
I never leave comments on UA-cam videos...but I was drawn like a moth to a flame watching this. I took the 3hours in doses over a few days. Totally changed my view of Roth...never knew how simply articulate and intelligent he is. Nice that Joe just let him riff....good job.
Talking to DLR seems to be like taking an unknown back road... you never know where or what it's going to lead you to. He is the epitome of high energy.
I"m imagining Eddie (RIP) banging his head against the wall listening to Dave's non-stop, bombastic monologue. I wouldn't be surprised if Dave talks to himself when he's alone. When he's asleep. When he's under anesthesia. He is funny as hell and is definitely the best front man ever in rock n' roll. Not the best singer. But the best showman. God Bless this man.
Jagger, Mercury? Or maybe this... Diamond Dave best American frontman?
Been waiting for the full version.
Dave is nuts…genius… but he is nuts!😂😂😂😂❤
I had no idea that listening to/watching DLR explain sumo, in detail, was on my bucket list, but it terns out it was.
Saw him at Maple leaf gardens in 1980 and 2012....we got old together
Interviewing David Lee Roth is definitely not for the faint of heart. Well done Joe Rogan. That’s gotta be something like kitten wrangling, but there are very few people as interesting as David Lee Roth.
Joe definitely seemed annoyed, often
I started listening to this on the podcast and Dave was wearing me out.
Switched to UA-cam. Absolutely riveting. Fascniating interview / fascinating human. I'm sure he's tough to be around in real life, but what a great way to spend a couple of hours.
Its like listening to a cool, down to earth uncle talk with you.
Well stated. In my circle I am that uncle.
rock on
mad respect for DLR... he paints a very vivid picture with his words. Excellent episode
Amazing! I found myself glued to it. What a character DLR is. He is walking Bible of life experiences.
DLR is such a character. Hope im still that wacky and full of life when i reach his age lol
Isn't that the truth! Both sentences you wrote are spot on!
I know people prefer the DLR days of Van Halen and others prefer the Hagar era. I’m one of the few that appreciate both eras.
Same. Van Hagar was just a rock band. Van Halen was much bigger in every sense.
I’m with you, although I prefer the DLR era.
