    (Stock Video Project #3) In this video I explain in depth why I'm not happy with Wirestocks easy submission button, and why its auto meta tagging sucks! To explain I show a comparison to Eye ems site and how wirestock is lagging in there auto tagging feature.

    Thanks, I am just thinking about switching to one of these aggregate stock uploading sites instead of manually uploading to all of them. 3 months to review? That's a joke. 2 huge channels I follow are now affiliates with Wirestock and of course they are shoving it people's throats. Also agree that the subscription economy sucks - I don't want to pay gazillion dollars a month for all the stuff I use.

      It's unfortunate that that sponsored content covers up the honest review from influencers. You would hope people would not take sponsorship if they didn't use the product and that they wouldn't fluff the truth. But that's the world we live in! I still think it's smart to use the multiple submission but I think I'll stay away from the easy submission for the most part. If you find anything other than Wirestock or blackbox.global let us know. Thanks for watching!

    Hey, I am knew to the stock industry. Do you think using a platform like Blackbox to upload videos and EyeEm for photos is the way to go to make money? Or should I focus on just uploading to the stock platforms without using a platform that does it for me?

    • @TonyVsEarth
      @TonyVsEarth  Рік тому +1

      I will be honest, I am not the most experienced across platforms. From my experience though, I would say it depends on what you are shooting. If you were doing it like me and just repurposing your vlog footage then yes. But!!! If you were creating video for stock, like an agency you may have an a slight edge to find a platform that best suits your niche and primarily upload to that site. It is very hard to explain in the comments but you just have me an idea for another video lol. For example if you look at the "Storyblocks platform" they specialize in people uploading multiple clips for one scene and you'll find allot of outdoor and adventure you're footage. Therefore you'll probably have good luck selling stock footage like that there. Then again it could be hard to compete with all the other footage. It's really hard to tell where to spend your time. But most people upload to multiple sites and sites like Wirestock and blackbox make that easy.

      @@TonyVsEarth Thanks for the information. One last question; is it fine to use the same photos and videos I took to upload across different sites or are you only allowed to pick one site to send them photos then you cannot send them exact photos to other stock sites to sell?

    • @TonyVsEarth
      @TonyVsEarth  Рік тому

      @@puffinfilm that is another hard question to answer. Every stock agency will have different fine print, but I do believe most allow to distribute to other agencies as well. Wirestock and black box are not stock agencies, they are actually acting as an individual sending your work to multiple agencies as they are allowed to acting on your behalf. This brings up another important point, which is that most stock agencies let you keep the rights to your files, whereas when you upload your files to Wirestock and Blackbox you are now giving them rights to your files. And to be honest, is one of the main reasons why I am now considering just doing the work myself to multiple sites. I worry that I may build a residual income and the company might go under.
      I do believe most people that don't use Blackbox or Wirestock, are typically uploading to two or three sites like Shutterstock, alarmy and Adobe stock at the same time. Make sure when you sign up with a stock agency to clarify whether or not they allow you to keep the rights to your files or not. If not they should be paying more than the other sites in my opinion.

    Perhaps something escape me but i don't understand why you don't upload to pond5? Suggested tags are not the best but they usually take only 3 days and if you are exclusive you get 60% from your sales. They have a big staff in supporting contributors too. in more than 10 years i got always human response in less than 24 hours. Best of Luck!

    Surely Wirestock are taking a %age cut off anything you sell through them... so why are they also trying to charge you for the privilege of using their service? 🤔

    • @TonyVsEarth
      @TonyVsEarth  Рік тому +1

      Agreed. I don't like giving them 15% plus $100. But like anything your paying for the convenience of being able to post to multiple stock libraries, to have photo and video all in one and your own separate portfolio that offers everything including print. That in itself is valuable but also probably costs them allot in upkeep. I'm not happy with many things with Wirestock but I am hoping the small things will get worked out over time and that profit is good. New video coming soon and I'm hopeful about the results after my first stuff months

    • @DaveBowman
      @DaveBowman Рік тому

      @@TonyVsEarth I uploaded my first batch to them a few weeks ago, so I'm curious to see just how long it takes for them to review it. I was looking for an all-in-one solution that would take a sensible cut from profits without requiring a subscription, but Wirestock seems to be some kind of horrible middle ground where you can upload and sell your stuff for free... it just takes an age for it to happen! I'll reserve final judgment for when my stuff is eventually reviewed. Meanwhile, I'll look forward to your next video.

    It’s getting ridiculous, I make artwork digitally on photoshop (subscription fee monthly) then I use Circut design space to break them into stencils by color layer, Cricut design space nickel and dimes you as well. Now to put your work out there is another fee.

    I uploaded a shitload of drone clips on there and I'm loosing patience as well. They actually rejected some of my best clips because they thought they were too similar to another one uploaded. Probably fair in a way, but the not so good one was uploaded first and it got accepted, then the one I really liked got rejected. And yes, it takes forever to get clips through the review. I've been on there for two or three months already and haven't seen a single sale. Maybe I should wait, but I will try the Blackbox.global. thank you and hello from Edmonton.

    • @TonyVsEarth

      Recently I went directly to Adobe stock and uploaded some video clips that were rejected for various reasons on wire stock and I was able to have them accepted. For this reason I think I'm actually going to continue to upload clips two different websites manually. Why are stock was supposed to make life easier but I feel like just made things more complicated. I do believe black box is a little better for specialized reasons that I still believe you will have similar rejection issues just because the nature of having a second gateway. All the best to you, and feel free to let us know what you decide to do with your footage and if you have any different results. Cheers!

    You better double check that your submissions from Wire' are actually being sent to those other platforms, because another reviewer found only 10% of his stuff was sent. Wire' is cheating a defrauding their clients.

    • @TonyVsEarth
      @TonyVsEarth  Рік тому

      I appreciate the concern but I don't feel like they are cheating them. There are just some negatives to the structure the platform but it comes with other benefits. I have seen improvements lately and when I go through my portfolio it tells you which of the partners don't currently have that clip or image and gives me the option to send it manually if I do choose. I think it's more that they have a tight criteria as the other platforms see them as one identity. Regardless this is a topic to consider when deciding what you'll do with it.

      I waited close to 4 months for some of my clips to get accepted or denied, but I guess they think that that's acceptable for a service that offers to tag your work. The problem is I think that they are catering to people that don't know there's better services that also tag your work. I think the only issue for me at this point is that those are only photo based platforms.
