The problem with wirestock and video clips is it takes them weeks to even review them and that is only the first stage. BlackBox is much faster and pays better too IMO
Excellent video as always and Matthew is always very clear, my experience of wirestock are they are very very very slow and unless you open an account I think you will be waiting a long time as it seems everyone is now uploading and that's a good thing, but it also floods the market.
I'm a bit confused about property release, If I have a video that has a Cathedral in the background, along with many other recognisable buildings, I need to get a release from every building?
If I have conventional photographs and/or video (not from drone) can I sell them in the same places? Should I? Is there any reason to keep different types of content separate?
A very helpful vid, Matthew. Thanks for sharing. It's certainly something I'd like to look into. Do you ever add music / sound effects to stock footage? Cheers Matthew. Best wishes, Brian Blake
Lets say I list on wirestock, then someone sees a photo on my website and buys it directly from me. Do I need to delist that from wirestock or can the same content be sold multiple times somehow?
Great In-depth video ✊🏼 Just what I needed to see as I have a ton of 4k drone videos that I can use. How quick are Wirestock at approving and releasing the footage?
Thanks for this informative video mate. When you say Wirestock take 15% commission is that on top of any commission from other platforms such as Pond 5 etc or do the other platforms NOT take a commission on footage provided through Wirestock?
Hi Matthew! Thanks for this. Quick question: I already have accounts in many stock platforms. Is it possible to merge all of the existing accounts in Wirestock?
Hey! I usually do yeah. Most of the shots I take have ND filters being used but it's not a requirement to use/ or not use them. The main thing is making sure your shots are as good as you can make them.
I still don't know how you manage to get such amazing footage. I have an Air2S and mine always looks washed out, or the colours don't quite look right. Been trying manual and auto for ages and never managed to see anything like the footage you show here.
Yeah and all you have to do is pay thousands of dollars for a license that lets you make money off of your footage, instead of the ten dollar basic license fee....at least in Canada.
Thanks for the precise and informative video! Very helpful! Does wirestock own your footage when uploaded or they just get the 15%? Just don't want to lose my shots
does wirestock compress or downgrade your video quality on the submission screen? I shot my clips in 2.7k and when uploaded to for approval, it looks like its 360p
What do you do if you have a drone clip from a overviewing a city and in the shot you can see a lot of company names. Do you need to get permission of all these global companys?!
Excellent Videos! Love your channel, Keep them coming! I have a few questions: 1. Can you upload and sell the High-Res Photos created by your drone or just videos? 2. If yes, is the process the same? 3. Does Wirestock require exclusivity of your uploaded approved videos? 4. How often does Wirestock pay on your sales? Adobe has some bogus BS, that you have to obtain a certain dollar amount before they will pay you. I sold a clip on Adobe-Stock for $70.00 and never got paid for it because I did not sell enough volume within a certain time period, This may have changed, But it sucked! I should get my Mini 3 Pro this week, Yeah! Can't wait!
I have to say I think wirestock is the same as other platforms.............. a complete waste of time.......... they never get round to approving images....... you could simply die waiting....... 🤦
It’s nonsense. Think of all the footage you have now compare that to professional people doing the same. Still think your footage will sell? Let’s say you have great sellable footage. There is editing. Ok so you get that figured out when again professional people are doing the same thing but far better. Wirestock is NOT what he is suggesting. NOT EVEN CLOSE. If you are not posting fully legitimate professional pictures or videos you have zero chance of being found amongst the professionals that are. They just don’t except anything less than a very high standard that is near impossible to reach for anyone near beginner status. I understand you need content for your videos but find an honest way please.
The US you have to have a part 107 certificate in order to make money no matter what it is that makes money with a drone I'm currently trying to get the part 107 certificate
Is it worth doing a complete colour correction/ grade on the same clips as well to sell as different stock or is it worth just keeping mostly unedited?
I would say that if you shoot in d-cinelike then yes, uploading that and your colour corrected clip is worthwhile as it gives the buyer a chance to colour grade to their taste. However if your just adding saturation to the normal colour profile then it's probably just best uploading that one clip. Hope that helps!
I am waiting to get an email response from Wirestock support. For one, the web pages are very different from the ones shown in this video. After successfully uploaded 4 clips with Filezilla I cannot figure out how to get to a Wirestock page that will show me thumbnails or give me the option to fill in keywords and other information for each . . .
Register on Wirestock and start uploading your drone footage as Stock: wirestock.io/?ref=y.s.v.m.b.g

Very interesting Matthew, who decides the price of each clip?
The problem with wirestock and video clips is it takes them weeks to even review them and that is only the first stage.

What’s the whole name of the black stock app? I’m trying to find it
But BlackBox wants you to upload your government issued photo ID to their site for some reason?! A good way to get your identity stolen.

Hey Brian, hope this video helps! I wouldn't add any sound effects to stock no, you want to just upload the footage with no sound.

Does anyone know if this would be considered flying for commercial use? Requiring a Part 107 in the USA to do something like this with my drone?
How many videos would you say one needs to upload to begin to see some downloads?

The images must be color edited or it is better to post them as we took them ?
Have they made a lot of changes in 10 month? I cant choose Editorial or Commercial? I cant use keywords? This looks nothing like my Wirestock?!
Hi Matthew! Thanks for this. Quick question: I already have accounts in many stock platforms. Is it possible to merge all of the existing accounts in Wirestock?
So is it worth exporting each clip twice once as MP4 and once as MOV and putting both of them on
No, not if the clip is the same. Just pick a format and use that. Hope that helps!

A few quick tips are that adding saturation in post, lowering highlights and raising shadows a little always make the footage look much better!
Try different luts
Record in D-Log
wire stock isn't opening
Does wirestock decide the price?
It sounds good but they (wirestock) take so long time for reviewing , i bet if i install back the app might still not be published things i uploaded

i can't open an account in wire stock, all the time I tried to open it refused me, even tried VPN. I am from Bangladesh.
what will happen if I upload 2k videos? that is the max resolution my drone allows me to use

the idea that I need to pay content-stock broker a monthly subscription, is frankly nothing short of a scam.
So complicated! Why can't it be easier?
Subscribed in free, uploaded 4 videos for a try.... almost 10 days "in review".... not so fast the review... ;) wait a bit more then i ll quit
@Marc just using only pond5
Can you upload videos that are on your facebook or instagram?
Yes because they won't even be 1080p most likely.
It's a good plan to upload 16:9 to the agency but only put 1:1 + 720x720 on social media
What frame rate do you use? 24 or 30?
same question here
Hi, nice & informative video! Is it ok to upload videos that have been monetized on your own UA-cam channel? Cheers
Hi, Mathew. Thanks for the video, well explained. Thanks
will i earn the same if I upload it to wirestock instead of shutterstock, getty, etc, directly????

earning 10% of YOUR stock footage while Wirestock keeps 90% sounds like a pretty poor deal to me :)
Wirestock take 15% commission on earned royalties. So if your photo sells for $2 on a stock agency, you will get $1.70 and they will earn $0.30.
that 10% is YOUR earnings on whoever YOU refer to wirestocks earnings....
