Game of Thrones is an original HBO series based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling novels. In a world where summers span decades and winters can last a lifetime, the crown of Westeros comes with a price. Betrayal, lust, intrigue and supernatural forces shake the four corners of the Kingdom, from the scheming south and the savage eastern lands, to the frozen north and the ancient Wall that protects the realm from the darkness beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and noble men vie for power in the bloody struggle for the Iron Throne.

Game of Thrones: Season 2 - Making Histories (HBO)
• Game of Thrones: Seaso...
These animated histories kick so much ass! They add tons of layers of depth to the story and make the current world of a song of Ice & Fire alive and real.
Right on Ygritte! God, I love her! Can't wait for Season 3!
RIP Ygritte I love you
I've always thought that the Wildling society seem more or less similar to the Ironborn. Both seem to conform to the philosophy of raiding as a means of gaining possessions rather than through commercial methods. Both seem to believe in freedom and independence as well as following strong leaders (although the Ironborn still respect bloodlines). But also unlike much of the Game of Thrones universe, both cultures enfranchise the roles of women by allowing them to fight in battle as well as take on leadership positions.
Oh, yes...I certainly appreciate the show, and what went into making this a reality on screen. I am familiar with the backstory on this, and how Martin kept rejecting offer after offer in terms of a big-screen movie. I love how involved he is with the show. And I do have to keep telling myself that -- just like The Walking Dead is a separate entity from the graphic novels, so too is the GoT television adaptation different from the books. It's hard, sometimes, to separate the two, though...
We need more history and lore videos in the off season- at least an hour each month to fill in the blanks and feed our addiction
Yes we do!
WOW! I think it was absolutely GENIAL the way George introduced us to the other side of the wall and how they think about the ones who call them savages.
Rose Leslie is insanely cool. That casting for Ygritte, so perfect!
wow! Amazing voice acting from Leslie Rose! I'm really excited for her character in season 3.
The narration is extrodinary! Her voice is calm and demanding - very unusual!
"...If you've not been beyond the wall, you don't know what fear is...You will...."
GOOOOOOOSEEEBUMPS
[Part 3] One of the great things about doing the illustration work was knowing that any of the work I was doing was going to be animated so that there was an extra layer of life that was going to happen to it. For the fans, I think it's great because this is also territory that they haven't really gone into because they may be one line that's described by George, and once you draw that, or once you create an animation of it, it suddenly becomes something that's much more tangible,
Have you ever heard the word "hunt" spelled like this?! just AMAZING!
They need to make this a mini web series for us fans to watch in between seasons!
The voice acting and comic scenery still hold some of that great drama effect you get from the show.
I love her voice... I was expecting her to say "You know nothing, Jon Snow"
Couldn't agree more. The emotional responses from book 3 will be displayed so well through a visual medium, and they'll be far better received without the spoilers of trolls.
Ygritte can tell me bedtime stories anytime. *goosebumps*
[Part 1] Working on the DVD extras is like stepping into parts of the story that is the history of the story. So a lot of the illustrations I get to do are stories that were before anything we see onscreen. One of the nice things about Season 2's extras is that we're actually exploring some of the characters that are in the show but seeing a little bit more of their past. Where they all came from, why they're the way that they are and I think that it's all going to add to what we're seeing.
I love her Northern accent! :D It's the best!
the chills i got watching this!!!!!!
amazing illustrations!
Rose Leslies voice is fantastic
"They [Wildings] aren't powerful or sophisticated enough to pose a significant threat to the realm.
An any talk of White Walkers returning, with their armies of the dead, and their snarks, is just that.
Talk."
-Tywin Lannister
wow, AWESOME voice acting!
She has an amazing voice.
That voice...
finally someone that understands respect to you good sir :D
love the final few seconds
wow! his drawings are incredible
great narration
She has a great reading voice!
You're kidding, right? Ygritte is his first love. It's as significant as your first love was to everyone else, not significant at all. However, Half-hand's leadership and tutoring is the direct cause for Jon's acceptance of the wildlings and his cunning in how he should handle the threat in the lands of Always Winter; Ygritte was Jon's window to the wildlings. That being said, their story was truely heartwarming
I love Ygritte!
♥ Rose Leslie! Awesome narrator
gave me chills!
i don't mind as long as the show remains really good. there were a lot of characters missing in the last seasons so splitting and reshaping the series instead of following the books' order might help bring the massive cast to life. i can't wait for this show to begin again. it's really sad we have to wait an entire year between each season. and i was lucky to pick up the books as soon as the fifth one was released so waiting 4-6 more years for the next will be excruciating
i love her accent!!!!!! awesome!!
Ive watched season 1 & 2 over & over so much I almost know each characters lines.. This I would definately love. Hurry up Season 3 Im getting withdrawls
that last drawing is of a dead shadow cat, reanimated by the "others" aka "white walkers". there are giants, direwolves, polar bears and shadow cats north of the wall.
Game of Thrones is the greatest show that ever was or will be!!!!! ;D
the subtitles is a pure comedy... just activate and youll see what i mean... She is saying: "kneel to kings you didnt choose", subtitle: "neil teachings you didnt cheat using" :D
that's some impressive voice acting, the girl has got some skills .
This is SO cool! =D
yeah i especially want to see the tower of joy scene!
Season three is going to be the best season so far.
exceptionally talented artist, its like to see picasso ressurect
perhaps they should film about the older storylines as well: the doom of valyria, age of heroes, the andals, first men, and the targaryen dynasty
Love it! Amazing!
yeah maybe in the opening sequence like the fellowship of the ring did with the backstory of the ring in the beginning.
season 3. REALLY looking forward to it :)
I couldn't help but notice that they are using Gimp instead of Photo Shop. Now I like this show even more! 1:10
I am glad I could help. Some people didn't even know she was a person.
I think it's mainly because SO much happens in Storm of Swords, you need more than ten episodes for most of the storylines. Don't forget it was split in two in paperback.
Well, the third book is pretty massive. So that makes sense. And there are some big moments in there. Also, since book 4 is shorter and has less characters, they are going to be using parts of it in the next two seasons. So, from here on in, the books will not be followed specifically.
And by taking more time, we may get more of the characters that weren't introduced in the first two seasons but were in the first two books.
very well done!
The Night is dark and full of terrors...
Narrated by Balon Greyjoy hopefully. Alfie Allen is awesome but Patrick Malahide's voice is like amazing, especially when he says "Ironborn",
that was actually beautiful...
agree, a prequel book or even a prequel mini-series on HBO in the hiatus that will follow between seasons.
DALE LOCOOO!!!!!! LA NUEVA TEMPORADA PLS
Ygritte's voice
[Part 2] When you look at the map of Westeros, and you're trying to work out where George has placed these type of characters, you start looking at the planet and trying to suss out [find out] what culture [cultural] influences we've got onscreen. I suppose it's some kind of stereotyping of cultures in the world, but fantasy works best if we believe it as being something grounded in reality.
never heard such a great pronunciation of 'hunt'.
Good point. However, some differences or similarities hold more meaning than others. For example, the seasonal cycle is indicative of a planet with a wobbly rotation, meaning it can't be the present Earth, but it could be an earlier or later one. Or it could be a different planet, which means it would have a different moon, but grass could still evolve here. In my mind fantasy isn't reality with bits of fantastical changes added to it, but rather an alternative reality already from the creation.
Thank you!
ooh got shivers listening to her.
Can March come sooner???
The words are more than a bit melodramatic, but I just loved the reading :)
wow what a voice
1:50 Beric Dondarrion
I won't be the first, nor the last, to say "You know nothing, Jon Snow."
Bring on the third season... and based on the third book, it should be the most devastatingly awesome season in television history (I realize they are splitting the book into two seasons).
"If you've always knelt (kneel)"
"Might be ser king was wise..." gosh she's cute.
THA KING OF THA NOARTHHH!!
That is so badass
She could do a 4 hour document about The History and Social Influence of the Potato and I would listen to it all.
This woman's voice... it's enough to make a man faint.
O.o love it
she says: If you've always knelt you don't know what freedom is
seeing we're at kings now, season 3 will be the first half of swords, season 4 the second, season 5 maybe crows and then dragons is atleast two seasons. apparently winter is the longest book yet so that'll be atleast two seasons and then we'll prolly have spring for seasons 10 and 11 if the show is even on anymore... depends on how you look at it really.
The Targaryens conquering of Westeros just to see how the old Westeros looked liked pretty recentely :)
Make this a mini web series we can watch in between seasons!! :)
[Part 8: Final] You always have more steel, gold and daughters. I think you're afraid. If you've always knelt, you don't know what freedom is, and if you've not been beyond the wall, you don't know what fear is. You will... [end]
I can't write Spanish, but I hope this helps :)
im so pumped!
indeed it is.
LOVE!!!
i love ygritte..
There are bonus features on the blu ray I believe that are in this same fashion.
[Part 4] and we are helping to actually invent George's world. If we could possibly film this section of the story, it's another whole epic in itself, which is actually a very good idea. We should maybe go and do that [laughs]
robert's rebellion would be good, a lot of action, lyanna's story would be really interesting since we dont know what happened, but i would love to see the dance of the dragons story and the civil war under the targaryens
my god that was a good read
god i love ygritte
I would be all for them doing a spin-off type thing... would mean we don't have to wait a year between our Game of Thrones fix. :)
I cant help but to think that the wildlings represent the stereotypical way to look at us Scandinavians
at the current speed of George RR martin is writing the next books we wont have much option
Pretty sure it is her.
God I love this woman!
It's true, though. Don't read the comments if you don't wanna get spoiled. As much as I agree with you, but assholes are everywhere, especially on the internet. I don't like it, but what else can you do? I'd rather be able to talk freely with common fans about the show without selfish idiots spoiling the fun, but there are better places for that than UA-cam.
Aside from that, now I'm all pumped for season 3. Damn you, HBO!
Or you can read the book :) Just finished reading it myself and it is so Freakin' good man :)
If they pull this off, this season will be amazing. However I'm sceptical that budget or time can allow for them to create TV-series for all the books. Hopefully they remake it for television, short it off, simplify it.
[Part 5] Ygritte: A long time ago, they say, some old Southern king enslaved our giants by magic, and forced them to build your famous wall. Then he kicked all of my kind to the other side, and raised an army to keep us there. And we're they uncivilised ones? Wildlings. Might be Ser King was wise. Even a giant can be made to kneel, but only if he wants a better crack at your head. The free folk don't follow a man because his father tells us. If the king's son was brave and strong, aye [yes],
Or..people could just stop being annoying on the internet and not spoil. There is no need for spoiling. But there's no need to deactivate comments either, but it's nice for people who only watched the show to be able to read comments. Especially since the video is about the show.
