I'm Mexican and I can say that Philippine folks or Pinoys share some similarities like words, numbers, and traditions. It's the Spaniards that colonized Mexico (formerly New Spain) and Philippines. Because of this, Mexicans and Pinoys were introduced to different countries, conditions, and new world. Even on a rare occasion I get mistaken for a Filipino even though I am a big guy.
Yeah, during the time when the Spain held Mexico and the Philippines, they've been exporting/importing goods between the two colonies. It was called the "galleon trade". This also facilitated the migration of people from the two colonies.

every now and then some mexican would start speaking Spanish to me. when I'm really chinese.
I didn't ever realize until a few years ago in a Japanese restaurant I looked at all the sushi chefs liked up and realized I couldn't tell if they were Asian or Latin American. Blew my mind!
@@halluhmee dude it's something about latin America where they have that south east Asian look lol if you go to the Latin Caribbean where I'm from (Puerto Rico) it's a 16 sided dice roll every time a baby is born, will he look Asian? Will he look African or will he look white.... Oh look the dice landed on "all of the above" now he'll be confused for everything BUT Latino😂
Karates peoples😂
@@emanuelmartinez7267Don’t forget indigenous too, lol. Puerto Ricans are all over the place with our looks.
Never gets old, I could watch this all the time 😂
me too
Thanks man, ever since I watch this I started telling all random Asians where they are from and they love it
The Hong Kong accent is very distinctive too, I really like it.
Golden Globes was bad, but came here to check out some of the other stuff. Legit funny stuff.
Very unfortunate night to have an off night, but hosting is different and the last minute notice is a real thing. Hard to say no to that opportunity but if you are unprepared it all goes on the host and not the organizers for not giving more time.
The standup is really good though.
Bro golden globe is trash. Your real shit is at a comedy stage like this
Golden Globes is just full of entitled people who can't take the slightest jokes on planet Earth.
Golden Globes was genius fire 🔥- just a room full of privileged white folk that couldn’t handle that level of truth-telling coming from a POC.
I remember when I first watch this whole stand up show. I was literally dying of 😂😂😂😂
Jo Koy brother, keep on doing what you're doing. You are an amazing human being honoring your mom, your family, your heritage and your people. The Golden Globes is just one night, you did not have enough time to prepare but it was also very hard to turn down as it was big opportunity. You have your own niche in comedy and made a name for yourself - there are going to be better spaces and opportunities next time.
the common people love him; fuck the celebrities
@@austinsavageMost of his haters are just swifties or pedo shills anyways.. Yeah F them..
No one can do comedy like Jokoy does - he can imitate/mock even Japanese porn ladies and no one would get offended😂
Coz hes half asian. Imagine bill burr doing this hahah
Because he's asian. Only asians are allowed to do this like the N word is for black people.
@@hiddenaxies4953half of the US (and you know which half) would lose their shit and come grinding to a halt
Most of Asian don't really drill on racist so it doesn't matter who's doing the joke. Not everything has to be about racist. Life is too short and you live happier without that mindset.
@@hiddenaxies4953- you must not know bill burr. He has gone after white, black, and everyone in between.
0:52 As a Korean, I have always wondered what Korean language sounds like to other nationalities. Very funny. Bravo! 😆
I'm half Asian & half Latino. What is true, is that this set works for both my ethnic backgrounds.
That's cool, I hope mixed people like you become more common. Asian and Latin people are the future of 🇺🇸
Asian and Hispanic sounds extremely powerful. Respect from a Tejano 💪🏽
I'm Belgian and this is actually funny to watch. Now I have learnt something new again. 😅 The Korean and Vietnamese is so funny. Never knew.😅 I did know about the Japanese, they talk more from the stomach, I learnt that when I was small and the commercial for Toyota cars came on tv. And then they'd always say "OK" in a very low voice 🤣✌️💯 God bless you all.🙏🍀✌️
The Japanese aspect of it, made me laugh my ass off🤣
Osaka
Making fun of people with disabilities is hurtful and disrespectful. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and dignity, regardless of their abilities. Let's choose compassion and understanding over mockery and support inclusivity for all.😮
I'm Mexican and I can say that Philippine folks or Pinoys share some similarities like words, numbers, and traditions.
The Vietnamese part had me dying 😂😂
As someone with an Korean Grandma, Korean was so on point 😂
I’m mixed Japanese Korean and Vietnamese and this shit is so fukin hilarious 🙂
😑
This is epic! I know from experience that this is right on point. I've spoken with the Asian peoples of many flavors and discovered that If you mimic their particular accent of English, they understand you better-- because it's the way they speak it!
You know the guy knows his shit when he addressed the gender dimorphism when it came to Japanese accents. the difference between men & women speaking that same language is so damn obvious that it's just impossible to miss! the part about Japanese porn tho... well, let's just say many watch that shit precisely for the same reasons...
That aside, i'd like to know his thoughts about telling apart Chinese from others, as i'm Chinese myself.
Watch Jimmy O.Yang ! Love both of these guys! ❤👵🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤣🤣🤣
❤️❤️❤️ All of Jo’s standup is fricken spot on hillarious!
I’d love to see him live.❤He’s so funny 😆 😂😂
u need to see the one about the india flies ''omg ''ive seen all his stuff on here an netflixs hes just too funny
I saved money to give my bf a ticket to Jo Koy for his birthday as we both LOVE him and his jokes. We waited for months until the show, got good seats, sold out show, FULL house…show started, I was close to tears with excitement: HE WAS NOT FUNNY! He said, sorry, I have no jokes for you because I just did a Netflix show and all my new material went in that show and can not tell you the jokes until the show comes out. I’M DONE!
Jo Koy was awesome live! I saw him in Oakland and he had Boys II Men come out at the end to sing some of the classics with him. Anyone who didn't enjoy his show is just a straight hater and his tickets were affordable, I didn't need to save up.
I thought you were a mid comic until the Internet dumped on you for taking shots at their queen and now I want to be besties. Good job.
This was the first time I’ve heard of this comedian. He is hilarious! 😂😂😂😂😂
3:14 i loved this part so much
Hysterical...And actually learning to tell Asians apart!😂😂😂❤
I discovered you on the 4th of July on Netflix and I'm loving every second of it I'm watching another one and I'm going to share this on Facebook
Vietnamese here, love your expression 😂
Omggg as someone with tons of Asian friends of different background, this was too on point 😭
I'm Irish. I had a korean lady approach me one day I was waiting for a chinese friend at a chinese-speaking event.
She asked me something like what was I doing there. So jokingly I said "Because I'm Chinese!" - she took a step back and looked me up and down..totally confused.
So I started laughing and said I was kidding..of COURSE I'm not Chinese. So I asked her if SHE was Chinese. She said she was Korean and said "Why? Can you not tell I'm Korean?"
I said "Of course not. I can't tell chinese people from korean!"
She smirked and pretended to be shocked, saying "That's terrible!"
So I said "OK then, YOU tell me how I can tell the difference?"
She paused for a bit and admitted "I don't know!"
We both laughed
The Japanese bit kills me everyone because I love anime so much.. Such a great jester.
0:55 Ahhh bro the Korean. 🤣🤣🤣
1:23 I think you mean the 'pucking house was haunted'
Asian ghosts
i love this type of comedian, he got no intend of making fun of any race but to make people happy and laugh
Jo Koy is legendary 😂!!!
One of the best, best, best, best, best of your performance, brother you nailed it, proof is that each and every audience loved it ,laughter was fill in whole environment. Special point was Japanes women 12 to 75 age how they act and you perfectly acted it. God bless you brother.
He is absolutely hilarious
He cracks me up a lot plus everything he said about Vietnamese is true such courageous people. I'll pay anything just to see Jo
Hi, Jo OX
I searched specifically for this clip and mainly for the Japanese references. I've seen it so many times but today I had to watch it again after having watched it [again] last night. It never fails. Hopefully, I'll see you in November. Now, I'm going to watch it again - the "sorry" gesturing is primo OX
Being half-Japanese, I can concur with this.
Luv Jo Koy! Hilarious and spot-on. Respectful and authentic.
Loved seeing you in Australia (along with all the other Asians)
I legitimately count Australia as part of Asia
Russell Peters did this joke years ago ! Truly fascinating how their observations are so on point ! ❤
His real name is Joseph Glenn Herbert Sr. Jo Koy was born to a white American father who was in the United States Air Force stationed in the Philippines when he married Koy's Filipina mother.
He was always on vh1 doing the I Love segments
Can't wait to see my Jokoy this weekend!!!! Asked my wife to wear her "slipaaa". Lol awesome shot Jokoy.. keep on ! Let's go all love ❤️
Joe Koy, don't let the globes performance have ANY impact on you or your career. You were like a fighter being thrown into a fight you weren't properly prepared for because of lack of time! Don't let ANYONE blame you for the lame show, it's only words my man, you are honestly one of our favorite people, not just comedian, but as a person. We have been watching you for quite a while, not that you are old or anything, but in your career, you are probably seen as between Lamar Jackson and Brett Favre in football.
Keep up the GREAT work in your comedic field man, if you don't believe me, just ask your Ma.
As a Japanese, I can confirm that it is on spot😂
He says Japanese men talk from the "hara". I think it's a little farther down. Big brass ones.
I'm Vietnamese-American and I was howling on the floor laughing at his mimicry of us Asians.
Your beautiful😝
I extend to you, my deep appreciation for your unique support, saying thank you hardly seems enough.
Honestly probably one of the best 5 minutes of comedy EVER! 😂😂
I’m Vietnamese, this was on point!!! Too funny Lmao 😝
My wife is Vietnamese and her mom does the high and low 🤣🤣🤣
such an understanding of language and sounds. i wonder what a linguist thinks
I didn't really know how different Asians have different accents or what they accents sounded like. After reading comments below from different Asian ethnicities and how they agree on comedians 100 % accuracy. This skit had me tearing from my eyes on how hard and continuous I was laughing.
Jokoy you’re the best and your jokes bring all races/nationalities together. 😅 God bless you! 😅❤
Its so true, no matter how much you did to people, one single mistake can loose all those good things you’ve done. I’m reminiscing this video though I’ve watched it countless of times, cuz of the golden globes. People are not just chuckling, they go crazy. Jo Koy is really funny for real.
😂 dude I love you! You always have me busting up.. You’re so freakin hilarious 🤣😂 thank you for being you
Other than that, there's also Singlish and Indian accent that are so distinctive. Asia is so diverse and fun to talk about.
This is just a classic comedy bit! This will go down in history!
0:43 Korean
01:41 Vietnamese
03:30 Japanese
🤣🤣🤣 Im dying of laughing all the way through ❤ Thanks Jo💯
Went saw him in Charlotte twice looking for a hat trick soon best stand up comic out there but I'm Filipino American bias my father was in the marine corps
Wow... He is brilliant. Such a talented comedian!❤
He actually cracks me up a lot, have you been to any of his live show?
@@tomclark5270 Not yet! But would love to, I'll have to check his Canadian tour dates!
I'm married to a Korean and I can confirm that's the truth! I've always thought so too! 😂
