LC is 100% invest WW if just coming into soc and no alex. For second pair skippy with mehmed 5511 relic wait to see how next inf impacts meta. If new smite could do LC /skippy and WW /2025 comander
I have Guan, Scip, LC, and Alex maxed. Little under 1000 GH saved up and I’m skipping Wallace. His overall kit is problematic for long term field meta and Alex is already so good with LC. I just cant justify that many heads for a marginal increase in what’s already the best march.

Well in Soc crystal tech plays a very important role. If you have decent marchers and good crystal tech research you are going to have a great time in soc.

I mean….i dont see this as a problem cuz….if you already have a scipio/liu as your only inf march you should just keep it of if you want another one just wait for next inf cycle, invest on wallace and pair scipio with mahmed and bench him when the new commander comes out
Actually there's a good chance that Aethelflaed would be a better pick.
Unless you were winning sunset canyon often; you most likely don't have a 551X Mehmed by KvK 3. You will however have an expert Aethelflaed.
Aethel's march speed will ensure both marches are traveling at the pace. Additionally, her debuff will help the other commanders get more severely wounded/kills.
I mean, how many people have a useable (5511) Mehmed? I've been playing for 18 months and my Mehmed is only 5311. 😥😥

Great analogy for the lazy river. Been playing since ‘19 and it’s never changed. A strategy by the devs to keep you constantly on your toes investing/spending
The infantry "problem" isnt the commanders but the way lilith makes them similarly powered to cavs/archers. The slowest units in the game with the same hitting power as faster units only has 1 conclusion. They will be weaker. If i cant catch you but you can catch me i am strategically at a disadvantage.

I don't think Infantry will get new skill damage commanders anymore. Before the Scipio A and WW reveal, I felt like Lillith might plan to split infantry between skill and smite damage. Like smite for garrison with Gorgo and some field use, and then Skill damage for rallies with Tariq and some field use. But now it seems like Infantry and Engineering will be entirely smite focused, while cavalry and archer will be skill damage focused.
If you have already invested in Scipio, and are trying to develop more marches, I would forget about WW and just pair Scipio with LC for the next year until the next generation of smite infantry arrive. The next generation of infantry commanders will include a garrison and field commander - and the field commander will likely have AOE. If you want to run 2 infantry marches in a year, you can pick up WW and the new AOE commander at that time and decide how you want to pair the 4 of them.
If you are a newer player and have not invested in Scipio yet, I would not begin investing in him now. WW + LC will be a stronger pair for just 1 infantry march. In a year when they come out with a new AOE smite infantry commander, the best 1 march pair will be the new AOE inf + LC. If you want to run 2 infantry marches in a year, 1 march will certainly be WW + AOE smite, and the second would be AOE smite + Scipio/ Gorgo/ Alex / new inf garrison. So you can run 1 infantry march for now, and wait until then to decide on your next 2 infantry commander investments.
If you're new to season 3 or returning to SOC - focus on expertising LC and ZL and build up a set of infantry and archer equipment for them. They are substantially better than every other commander in the game and are guaranteed to be in your top infantry and archer field marches for the next 2+ years.
I only have one infantry equipment set. I already have Alex, Guan, Scipio and LC expertised. There's no way I am getting Wallace to bench Scipio at this point. If I had two sets of equipment I would pick up Wallace

@DDKKAY so best to just concentrate and one troop.type. in the beginning so all your equipment and buffs are consistent. Then later in after having saved gold.heads invest in the current meta cav pair then later the current meta archer. Now you have 5 marches with decent equipment amd can compete
It's not a problem for me, because I'm infantry main. I run all infantry, because I'm a low spender and too lazy to do farm accts and focusing on 1 troop type is easier for me as far as rss wise.
You should run all types your bag is gana have excess of stone because of all the forts and random tokens inless you trade them

That's the same thing everyone in my first 2 kingdoms and all the UA-camr said. The problem is, unless you're a f2p that's been playing for 5 years, a whale, or have at least 2 farm accts, that's the worst advice. If I ran multiple troop types, I'd be a spectator by the time Kingsland opened. Multiple troop types work for players who have farm accts or whale, but if anyone plays like I do, I advise them to pick 1 troop type and stick too it. Sticking to 1 type allows my to only focus on farming the rss I need for that 1 type, and skip the rss I don't need during the off season. I haven't missed a Kingsland battle since I know my limitations and turned my negative (spending, farm acct) into a positive.

So im just now ending kvk 3. (Mid/high spend) maxed my ysg. Maxed my alex in kvk 2.
Nevski/joan with gold heads. Expert LC pair with alex and now 5551 herman pair with ysg. This gives me 3 marches that i can now lazy susan the meta comanders that come out. (Spining wheel on skippy, daylys william 1) skippy can pair with mehmed till WW replaces alex boom 2 good marches. Next cav can pair with william 1 and next archer can replace YSG

So I have to disagree and challenge here because I’m a low spender and I once made the mistakes of spending gold heads early game. Why? Because let’s be honest saving your gold heads as a new player is very hard to resist because we want the power and to defeat our enemies right? So if you’re like me and you have/had Alex way before you got Scipior and you have liu Che maxed from the liu/zhuge event then max Alex with double relic as a low spender because you will likely have Alex maxed already.

It depends on how you fight. If you really micromanage and focus on the hit-and-run Huo/Joan...
Joan fires off her active skill twice, but there is a cool down. Essentially the first time you activate your primary skill Joan will do her's twice. The second time once, and the third time twice again. With Huo you have to wait, fight, and then continuously chain from one dead enemy to the next to get the most value.
If all of that sounds like too much go with Nevsky. Also, Nevsky is more resistant to damage.

This last cycle of Infantry ( Lu Che and Gorgo) broke me for this game. And with the upcoming commanders , I see no reprise. I would “win” field fights last kvk against the new infantry and still lose in trades? Lilith can have fun with their smite damage. I’m going to play College Football 2025 😂

It's just the timing of gh investment tbh. Just keep your gh and wait for 2-3 mos. after release of commander🤷 This is also a main reason why f2ps should focus on one troop type. Plain and simple

I don't think 2 single target commanders will ever be good for the field - especially if they have low march speed. The damage is just too low and it is too easy to get kicked out of combat and lose all your rage. AOE will do way more damage, and will keep you in combat after you kill your target so you will not have to start at 0 rage again for your next target.
Just in kvk1 and I’m thinking of being a Calvary only even when I get to late game. Is that just a set up for disaster or can I stick to it
Reason I want to be a Calvary person is because of the Teutonic knights
@@dadaddy1677 So, that is a bad idea for several reasons. Number one, you naturally train each troop type and will want lots of each anyways for rallies. Number two, you should most likely be French anyways for the healing speedup if you're a low spender, you don't train enough right now to benefit from the training buffs. Number 3, you naturally acquire armaments and equipment for each troop type. Remember, this game is a proper marathon, I started playing 411 days ago and have a decent set-up but I spend a fair amount, expect to not really be relevant in field fighting for the first year ish.

I would focus on infantry and archer equipment and look to pick up Liu Che and Zhuge Liang when KvK 3 comes. Until then, save up your gold heads. Cav will get 2 new commanders in 6 months which is about the time you will enter season 3 and have access to late game commanders. Currently though, cavalry are the worst troop type in the late game.
Most cavalry commanders are focused on providing single target damage and utility buffs, rather than AOE damage and AOE debuffs. They are designed to deal high single target damage to priority threats, but they only have 1-2 suitable marches for large scale fights in the late game. The late game is all about dominating the field around objectives like flags, so you really prefer commanders that can deal high AOE damage to groups of enemies, so you can rush in and wipe them quickly and cut them off from trickling back to defend.
On offense, you want to open a rally on an enemy flag. Then move your armies in and wipe out all of the enemy marches near the flag, so that the rally does not get swarmed and so that your reinforcements do not get attacked while they are standing around waiting to join the rally. Commanders with high AOE damage and strong AOE debuffs are best for clearing out groups of enemies quickly before they can reload and come back to defend.
On defense, when the enemy opens a rally on your flag, you want to prevent them from gaining control of the field around your flag. So you again prefer to have very high AOE damage and debuffs to pick off their approaching murderball quickly. If they can't control the field, then their rally will not be able to get reinforced, and your garrison will be able to stay topped off and trade very well against the rally. If you control the field around the rally and they cancel the rally, all of the weak marches in their disbanded rally will be easy to pick off as they try to run through your armies to get back home. You just can't effectively play offense and make territory progress if you don't have enough strong AOE marches to clear the field for your rally.
