Experiencing AdBlue problems with your Mercedes E Class, particularly at 139,000 km, can be frustrating but it's not uncommon. AdBlue systems are designed to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions in diesel engines, but they can sometimes encounter issues. Here are some potential reasons for your problem and possible solutions:
      1. **AdBlue Injector Issues**:
      - The injector can get clogged or malfunction, leading to improper AdBlue dosing. This is a common issue and may require cleaning or replacement.
      2. **AdBlue Pump Problems**:
      - The pump responsible for delivering AdBlue might fail. This could be due to wear and tear, especially at higher mileages like 139,000 km.
      3. **AdBlue Quality**:
      - Using low-quality AdBlue can cause problems. Ensure you are using a certified AdBlue product to avoid contamination and crystallization issues.
      4. **Sensor Failures**:
      - The sensors monitoring the AdBlue system (such as NOx sensors or level sensors) might be faulty. Replacing these sensors can resolve the issue.
      5. **Crystallization**:
      - AdBlue can crystallize if the vehicle is not driven regularly or the system isn't properly maintained, leading to blockages.
      6. **Software Issues**:
      - Sometimes, the issue could be related to the vehicle’s software. Updating the vehicle's software might solve the problem.
      7. **Leaks**:
      - Check for any leaks in the AdBlue tank or lines. Leaks can cause the system to malfunction.
      ### Steps to Take
      1. **Diagnosis**:
      - Start with a comprehensive diagnostic check to pinpoint the exact issue. Mercedes-Benz dealerships or authorized service centers can perform detailed diagnostics.
      2. **Regular Maintenance**:
      - Ensure regular maintenance of the AdBlue system. This includes checking the injector, pump, and sensors periodically.
      3. **Quality AdBlue**:
      - Always use high-quality AdBlue from reputable sources.
      4. **Cleaning**:
      - If crystallization is suspected, cleaning the AdBlue system components might be necessary.
      5. **Professional Repair**:
      - Consider professional repair services if the problem persists. Replacing faulty parts like injectors, pumps, or sensors may be required.
While 139,000 km is a considerable distance, it's not unusual for AdBlue systems to encounter issues at this stage. Regular maintenance and using quality products can help mitigate these problems.

Do u have to delete engine management light or do u have to do adblue reset on the computer

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie

If you've resolved an AdBlue problem on your Mercedes E Class, you might need to take the following steps to ensure everything is properly reset and the vehicle runs smoothly:
      1. **AdBlue System Reset**:
      - Often after fixing an AdBlue-related issue, you will need to reset the AdBlue system using a diagnostic tool. This step is necessary to clear any faults related to the AdBlue system and to ensure the system recognizes that the issue has been resolved.
      2. **Engine Management Light (EML) Reset**:
      - If the engine management light (EML) was triggered due to the AdBlue problem, you'll need to reset this as well. This typically involves using a diagnostic tool to clear any fault codes stored in the ECU (Engine Control Unit).
Here are the steps you generally follow:
      ### Using a Diagnostic Tool:
      1. **Connect the Diagnostic Tool**:
      - Plug the OBD-II diagnostic tool into the OBD-II port, usually located under the dashboard.
      2. **Turn on the Ignition**:
      - Switch on the ignition but do not start the engine. This powers the diagnostic system and the tool.
      3. **Select the AdBlue/DEF System**:
      - Navigate through the menu to select the AdBlue or DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) system. Follow the prompts to reset the system.
      4. **Clear Fault Codes**:
      - After resetting the AdBlue system, go back to the main menu and select the option to read and clear fault codes. This step will clear the EML and any other related warning lights.
      5. **Restart the Vehicle**:
      - Turn off the ignition, remove the diagnostic tool, and then start the engine to check if the EML and AdBlue warnings are resolved.
      ### Without a Diagnostic Tool:
If you don't have a diagnostic tool, the following method may work for some minor resets, though it is less certain:
      1. **AdBlue Top-Up**:
      - Ensure the AdBlue tank is filled correctly according to the manufacturer's specifications.
      2. **Drive Cycle**:
      - Sometimes driving the vehicle for a certain distance (around 10-15 miles) after the repair and refill can reset the system. The vehicle needs to perform a few start-stop cycles and reach operating temperature.
If these steps don't resolve the warning lights or reset the system, it is recommended to visit a professional mechanic or a Mercedes-Benz service center to properly diagnose and reset the system using specialized equipment.

Hello sir I have same problem same car 2016 Benz adblue sign and engine sign please any idea ?

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie

It sounds like your Mercedes-Benz is displaying warning signs related to the AdBlue system and the engine. The AdBlue system is used in modern diesel vehicles to reduce emissions. When the AdBlue warning light comes on, it usually indicates that the AdBlue tank is running low or there's an issue with the AdBlue system.
As for the engine warning light, it could indicate a variety of issues ranging from minor to more serious problems with the engine or its components.
Here are a few steps you can take:
Check AdBlue Levels: First, check the AdBlue levels in the tank. If it's low, you'll need to refill it. The AdBlue tank is usually located near the fuel tank.
Inspect for Leaks: Check for any leaks in the AdBlue system. Leaks could cause the AdBlue to drain faster than usual.
Scan for Error Codes: Use an OBD-II scanner to check for error codes related to both the AdBlue system and the engine. This will provide more specific information about what might be causing the issue.
Professional Diagnosis: If you're unable to identify or resolve the issue on your own, it's best to take the car to a qualified mechanic or a Mercedes-Benz dealership for a professional diagnosis and repair.
Ignoring these warning signs could lead to more serious issues down the line, so it's essential to address them as soon as possible.

When dealing with a "Additive System Fault 5 mph" error message and issues with the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) injector on a 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, there are several steps you can take after replacing the injector:
      1. **Check for Fault Codes:**
      - Use an OBD-II scanner to check for any remaining fault codes. These codes can provide specific information about what might still be wrong with the system.
      2. **Perform a Manual Regeneration:**
      - If the DEF injector has been replaced, you might need to perform another manual regeneration to clear the system. Make sure the vehicle is in a safe location for this process, as it can take some time and requires the engine to be running.
      3. **Check DEF Quality and Quantity:**
      - Ensure that the DEF in the tank is of good quality and is at the appropriate level. Contaminated or low DEF can cause issues.
      4. **Inspect DEF System Components:**
      - Check other components of the DEF system, such as the DEF pump, NOx sensors, and lines for any signs of damage or blockage.
      5. **Reset the System:**
      - After replacing the injector and ensuring everything else is in order, you may need to reset the system using diagnostic tools. This can often clear any stored error messages and allow the vehicle to recognize the new part.
      6. **Software Updates:**
      - Check if there are any software updates available for the vehicle’s ECU (Engine Control Unit). Sometimes, manufacturers release updates to improve system performance or address known issues.
      7. **Professional Diagnosis:**
      - If the issue persists, it may be best to consult a professional mechanic or a dealership. They have specialized diagnostic tools and expertise specific to Mercedes-Benz vehicles and can provide a more in-depth analysis.
      8. **Test Drive:**
      - After performing the above steps, take the vehicle for a test drive to ensure that the error message does not reappear and that the vehicle operates normally.
Taking these steps should help you address and resolve the additive system fault. If you encounter specific error codes during this process, providing those can help in diagnosing further issues.
