  • It has been many years that I have tried making the perfect Marinara sauce and today I can tell you that I think I have found it! This Plant Based Vegan sauce is rich and earthy and full of flavor. Thanks to one of my favorite websites WellnessMama.com. This website is full of natural home care recipes, healthy personal care recipes and food recipes. She is adorable, the mother of six and is one of my personal heroes. I tried her pasta sauce recipe and it is great but to make it nutritarian I had to tweak it a little bit but I still think it is pretty true to her original recipe. Thanks WellnessMama!

In my childhood, we would go to the neighboring town of Vandergrift, PA and frequent ISALY"S, where they would sell BBQ sauce smothered over chipped ham. So glad I can now enjoy a healthy version of this. Thanks, Jill!

This sauce was awesome. My family enjoyed it for a spaghetti dinner this evening. We are a family of four and there’s plenty left. So I’m freezing it.

This looks absolutely delizioso! I make a very similar sauce, and add a couple of stalks of minced celery...tastes good and amps up the fiber. Thanks for doing this work Jill! Love your channel and your website. (Also I want to say that I'm grateful that I was lucky enough to come across Dr. Fuhrman's work, the man is a national treasure.)

I have had a very hard time finding a store bought marinara sauce that I am happy with, not so healthy! Very excited to try this!

I use this as a base for my own version using green lentils to add more substance and a couple of ingredients to add a savoury flavour like Marmite and nutritional yeast. Oh I’ve added vegetable bouillon too!!

I can't wait to make this, might try it on steamed potatoes rather than pasta. I love the tip about using the carrot to reduce the tomatoes' acidity.

I like the idea of the chunk carrot to absorb the acid from the tomatoes.Did you get those fetuccine noodles on line? All I have seen at our local store is quinoa & brown rice pasta It sounds like a good option for noodles for a healthy carbohydrate. Thanks for the tips on this sauce recipe!

Whole Foods has them in the produce section. I made a mistake in the video though. I usually buy the noodles that are just seaweed and the ones I show aren't them. The package looks almost identical. I must have grabbed the wrong ones.😬

O, Jill!!!! Before I forget, we used your recipe for the Quinoa Flat Bread for our Taco meal tonight... we were amazed that we were able to fold the Quinoa flat bread like a wheat tortilla. We love them!

Thanx for the recipe! Appreciate all your efforts to give us nice recipes. Enjoy your shows. I printed off this recipe and was looking at the grams of fat. I was wondering where you get 20 grams of fat in this recipe? I don’t see even two grams in the whole thing. Maybe you can enlighten me?
