Raptor R is cool no doubt, but im taking the TRX all day long. Its has similar off-road capability, its just as fast, costs roughly half the price, and in my opinion sounds better & looks way cooler inside and out!
It's amazing how a market has developed for these extreme trucks. The tow hooks look to be a red-orange color that seems fitting for such a truck. Thanks, Ben, for reviewing these extreme trucks for us.
I have an f150 but the dealership let me take our trx to a car show today and I’ve never had so much fun in a truck. I mean the supercharger is so loud on the trx it’s amazing and I think the truck looks phenomenal
In the TRX you can feel the luxury of 100k quality truck but in Raptor it feels like you are in any other F-150.

@@vaeetqdon’t think you have ever seen either on in person. The TRX is a way better interior. Better quality seats, snd screen. The Raptor is once again behind on interior like ford has been. Ram has has 4:55 way better interior and feels like a way better truck when you’re driving it. Also the raptor R is going for 50k over asking price which is just insane

The two trucks are equal imo,it all boils down to what one loves.,& On that note I love the Raptor R.
There’s no “better” when it comes to these two trucks. They are both top quality and high quality vehicles. It just comes down to brand preference.
I dislike people who hate vehicles based on brand. A good vehicle is a good vehicle.
Only difference is the demand for a V8. I believe this is why the Raptor R is about 50k over MSRP. Raptor owners have been looking for a V8 again for awhile. Never understand why ford, which is such a huge car company, ever got rid of the V8 option. The Raptor is their top of the line truck, and in the industry it’s a top of the line. But people who want a truck for a truck and not just to show off, want a V8
I’m a Ford guy myself. But I do love the RAM/Chrysler/Jeep interiors. My fiancé has a Wrangler and I love her infotainment system more than my F-150 one. But the Raptor here has the better looking exterior no doubt.
I own a 2022 Ignition Edition TRX and may be biased here, but when the RaptoR was announced I was excited about it until they announced they put the self-grenading 10R80 transmission in it which is a recipe for disaster (Ford is still dealing with many class-action lawsuits over that transmission). If they went with the TR-9070 it would have been a no-brainer to recommend. The TRX just looks a lot better than the Raptor without even getting into the mechanicals or interior IMHO. I'm glad I have my TRX and have no regrets (other than my lack of a balance in my bank account).
Honestly the looks on the outside I'd go for the Raptor especially with those headlights but the interior goes to the TRX for sure
Not true i bought a few vehicles from ford and never had a problem with the transmissions. The only minor thing is my 5.0 convertible car window won’t shut right when I put the top back on .
I would pick the TRX because it sounds better, looks more aggressive, has a better interior quality and handles better on the road and really feels more special
Except the 8 speed in then are garbage and shred teeth right off the gears.

@@ChristopherB2143 Nice joke, I guess you've forgotten the multiple recalls that have been issued on Ford's 10 speed over the years. This subject is even more comical, as just recently an addtional round of class action lawsuits have been filed on the 10R80 due to reports of harsh shifting, jerking, hesitation, and slipped gears. So if you think Ford's 10 speed is even remotely "better" you'd be wrong, the 10R80 is nothing but absolute crap.
As the Raptor R costs double the trx, there really is no comparison lol

TRX for the W
A wide body GMC Sierra AT4X would be the next best thing if they make it. I'd take that over the Raptor and possibly the TRX if UT has massaging seats and a panoramic sunroof

I own a TRX, but I agree with you. I love what Chevy/GMC has done with their trucks. If they made a wide body version of the trail boss, I think that would look very good!

I remember when the new Raptors were selling for 65k and everyone thought that was outrageous for a truck. Now, it seems like you cannot sniff a Raptor for under 85k all in. Not even including the Raptor R which is another 80-90k with ADM. its gotten out of control. OEMs are purposely limiting the amount of these type of vehicles they produce to realize huge margins.
Always wanted a raptor, got a ram rebel because the interior in 2019 in rams was a huge difference. Price in 2019 weren’t far apart. But the raptor was a 3.5 liter; the rebel was 5.7 liter hemi. Now I’m have TRX, the performance is the same, but the TRX interior is superior. Also the R is 50k over MSRP. Which makes it a way easier choice

Both styles are amazing, it’s just the fact the Raptor R is 50k overprice, and has lower interior/trim quality. Without being a “ford” or “Ram” guy, you gotta go with the TRX unless you love ford that much, and are rich rich

We have a new ram 1 ton at work and with 8k miles already the AC sucks and the doors creak. It drives great tho! We also have a new f350. I feel like raptor is probably the better truck but for that price not by that much.

Trx has the same cheap window buttons as my old 2013 Dodge Journey.

I like both trucks but even if the Raptor R is faster than the TRX I still will take the TRX over the Raptor. I just like the looks an the sound of it more. Also in those 8 all over the Raptor there is also one V in there if you can find it.

Ok so I've been driving a Ram the last 25 years so I love them. I don't like that the TRX is a 4 wheel drive only mode but it's a great looking truck.
I think both are over priced but I will say the Rapter looks great too and it's the only Ford truck I like,.....looks wise.
I had a 1979 F150 4x4 and it remains the best looking truck I ever had.

I never understood why ram didn't do the split tailgate for the trx and or the ram box. The TRX is still better looking inside and out.

I like the Ram style better than the Ford. Way too many decals on the Ford. The design is ugly. Ram looks fine with any decals and blacked out badging. Love the paddle shifters on the Ram. I would score the two trucks - Raptor 7 and Ram 9 plus.
Rams front end with those thin headlights is ugly, in my opinion

I've seen the TRX in real life and honestly it looks ugly as hell. The side view mirrors looks terrible and you can't tell the difference between a rebel and a trx other than the decals

Ford Raptor has done the Baja 1,000 and won unlike with the TRX has not people should thank Ford because with out the Raptor there would never be a TRX
Without the TRX there would be no Raptor R. Ford has almost completely given up on the V8. Even their supercar runs a turbo 6. The GT500 and the Raptor R owe their supercharged V8 existence more to Dodge than they do to Ford at this point since they'd rather just V6 everything in existence if they could.
@@matrinezkevin11492 guess what your Stalantis Dodge killed the Challenger and charger and with Chevy killing off the Camaro so Ford started this super truck race so thank them because at that time Ram was being pussys about not doing a Baja style truck it was Ford so with out Ford ever doing the Raptor there would be no trx oh and the mustang still has a V8 so nice try.
