We will never know... have seen people on YT down-voting the video of a mum happily holding her smiling baby; or a bird flying or a river flowing and so on!! 😅
Just to say, any time I need to help with anything to do with Microsoft packages, the first thing I do is go on UA-cam and type in 'Leila', then my question. Every time one of your tutorials comes up that answers my query in seconds. Thank you SOOOOO much. I find this one of the best resources on the internet, let alone UA-cam.
This was surprisingly hard to find because I didn't know about the bookmarks feature and was just searching for how to create a TOC in pdf, which kept pointing me to videos/articles about creating a TOC in a word document. Thanks for this!
I spent hours trying to figure out how to do it and all the other videos I came across weren't helpful. Thank you Leila, this was a very helpful video and I will check out the other tutorials because I am sure I will learn something very useful.
Interesting. I produce PDFs regularly-always from Word-and I have the nav pane in the PDF, plus clickable external links within the text, only by using the Save As in Word. I wonder does it depend on which PDF reader you use-I just tested this working in both new Edge browser and PDF Exchange Editor. I don't do anything special in Word if I recall correctly, although it's years since I set up my templates. As far as I know, all you need in Word for an automatic ToC is to use the built-in heading styles Heading 1, Heading 2 etc. I don't create a ToC within my docs as a separate job, it's 'just there' in the output files-PDF, Epub, Mobi. I just had a quick scan thru my Options and didn't see a relevant setting. Using 365 on Win10. Great video as always Leila, lovely clear explanation.
@Leila Ghaarani • Excellent demonstration and explanation. I really like the fact that you showed each step in the dialog boxes and kept them on the screen long enough for our brain to process them. Some UA-camrs seem to think their face is more important to us than the application. (Although your face is enjoyable to look at. 😊) I also appreciate the fact that you took the time to explain the alternatives to what you are showing on the screen. Too often, on-line instructors don't cover those so if we don't see what they show, we're stuck. Thanks for sharing your in-depth knowledge. 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🖖
YOU ARE A SAVIOR! I m so freakin stressed out because it needs to purcahse adobe acrobat to do so, but i can do it instantly bcs i have created headings on my ms word. THANKS!
Thanks Leila, your videos have made me pro from a layman. Believe it or not I have learnt a lot of stuff in excel, outlook and now in creating pdfs too.
WOW, thank you so much Leila! This is Just-in-Time video for me, as I was wondering about this very thing on a PDF converted from a Word doc with TOC recently! Didn't knew this feature, but now I know! Cool! 😊👍
Once again ... another timely tip with immediate applicability. Thank you .. thank you .. thank you. PS A somewhat similar request for Excel (on a topic that I don't think (?) you have covered yet); Please present how to create a "Watch Window" that remains on the screen regardless which sheet is being viewed. Thank you.
Could you explain the option "PDF/A compliant" ? A video about best practices when working with "Styles" or creating you own "Styles" would be interesting. It has a lot of possibilities, and it gets complex fast. - Just an idea :-)
This was really good, Leila! I've use both the PDF bookmarks and the headings in word, but never new how to generate the bookmarks the was you do here. Now, I can generate some really impressive documents for our boss! Thank you for sharing❕😎
Great video! I’m trying to figure out how to create clickable links in a pdf. I usually compile loads of different formats (from different people) into a pdf and since I won’t have the bookmarks, I want the same/similar navigation option as the bookmarks give me. Any chance you can do a video about that? Love your content 😊
I loved this video, but none of it works on my Mac. Know where I can find a video on how to save a Word for Mac document as a PDF, retaining bookmarks? Thanks.
