I'd recommend pot player over VLC over how useful it is to play videos from a playlist. Pot also supports a lot more file extensions than VLC, and if you are a videographer, Pot will let you play RAW clips which VLC can play but it's inconsistent and very buggy.
Got your suggestion and searched for PotPlayer, found but on its home page the windows compatibility is at most for Windows 8.1, on the other hand the changelog page returns the last update as [220706] that makes me think of July the 6th 2022. Are you still using it and having bugs? I'd like to give it a try but don't want to stuff my SSD with garbage... I come from an SSD failure and lost everything on it 2 month ago =/
Backing up your data should be a regular routine weekly, daily or even hourly depending on the importance of the data and the frequency it is changed. Don't wait until your disk start showing S.M.A.R.T errors if you love your data.
Good recommendations. On apps to check the health of your HD or SSD, though, i would still recommend using the app by the manufacturer (Western Digital, Samsung, etc.) of your particular drive.
Very useful software, thank you for the list. You may also want to consider "everything" which is a is a desktop search utility for Windows that can rapidly find files and folders by name or parts of names on any connected disk on your computer - a very useful and powerful search utility!
Liked and subscribed... thanks for letting me know about FreeFileSync. This is exactly what I needed. I was doing a tedious manual method before. This is so cool. You are also very good at explaining everything... cheers. 👍
With VLC, I believe it was with a few certain MP4 files where you had to disable a default Acceleration setting to get the MP4 video to play right (would be all garbled). For being able to pause and play video just by tapping the main screen, you need a separate plugin for VLC to make that happen. The scrollbar in VLC's fullscreen is far too small as well, with a movie it's very hard to go back a few seconds or even a minute or two to rewatch a scene being that the scrollbar is so dang small. When not in fullscreen, the scrollbar is a proper full size. Personally, I use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (it's still being developed, usually with updated LAV codec filters), plays most files right off the bat, really haven't had an issue so far, but I would add the madVR video renderer plugin and enable in MPC's options for better dark scenes, whereas VLC handles dark scenes very well right off the bat. Just my two cents worth.
Thank you for these great ideas! I also like Panopreter Basic, which can turn text into speech from several formats and in many languages, either just reading it out or creating files in WAV and MP3 format.
Thanks Leila - You are a fantastic teacher.... Very much enjoy your Utube posts.. I have another questions. I also like Panopreter Basic, which can turn text into speech from several formats and in many languages, either just reading it out or creating files in WAV and MP3 format.
wow.. had been looking for file sync software for a while... thank you
What about Ctrl + D to 'duplicate' instead of Ctrl + C & Crtl + V? I find it really handy for quick copying.
!!! CTRL + D deletes selected object in Win 10 i-e send selected object to recycle bin
I am using FreeFileSync and VLC Media Player. They are wonderful.
There's also a free file sync software directly from Microsoft - SyncToy.
It works almost exactly like the FreeFileSync mentioned
Thanks for the tip!
@@LeilaGharani I believe that Microsoft SyncToy is no longer available to download from Microsoft but can be found elsewhere.
SyncToy is discontinued by Microsoft
Good info! I’ve been using VLC for over 10 years. Your assessment is 100% my experience as well
Great to hear, Xavier!
Thanks Leila - You are a fantastic teacher.... Very much enjoy your Utube posts.. I have another questions. I use an old version of outlook (2013) because that was the last version that outlook had the "Journal" feature... It was a great feature track time and activity... Do you have any work around for newer versions of outlook or add-ins you know of that will do the same thing?
One of the best teacher online, great Leila KEEP ON ❤. Can you make please a video how to produce such animations used in your tuts videos and also best software that can mirror mobile videos on laptop , much appreciatedGreeting from me from Egypt
I don’t know why anyone would use anything other than VLC. Such a great application.
I'm using it since early 2010 but even I'm concerned using it after there was a huge security issue. And now every time I'm opening it up I there is a new update, and all of it contains some very important security fix. :S
@@Miornum That's fair. Though I'm generally happy to see those since it tells me they are finding and fixing issues instead of sweeping them under the rug.
I use Media Player Classic - way more stable tool.
Thanks for the tip. Just found that my hard drive is reaching it's limit. awesome apps.
She is a Goddess totally captivating - like the rest of you I love her - perfection and elegance personified.
Thanks @Leila Gharani the Freefilesync app helped me keep syncing my work automatically with google drive using the RealTimeSync app that comes with FreeFileSync
The QTTabBar is a life saver. Can't believe in the world of Tabs, Microsoft hasn't made this a Standard feature of windows. Thanks for these amazingly useful tips👍
