- House Flipper is a game about converting dilapidated wrecks into prime real estate, using the weapons of paint brushes, mops and sledgehammers. It's also very relaxing.

Before you bought the house you had a balance of £4,375. When you had renovated and sold it you had a balance of £4,380. You made a whopping 5 pound profit.
I know I was like you had a negligible profit from that first house flip, I was very disappointed from Mister Excel :(
It's 5 more than he had before.
Now he can survive a week on ramen
It's like the UA-cam Adpocalypse, but with houses.
I think the problem is that he's chosen only fancy stuff for this crappy house
"25% of you will have already gone to buy this" my reaction to that was "Oh shit, you can buy this now?" went to go check and you couldn't, thanks Jon you just raised my homes and dashed them. (at least not on steam anyway)
He flipped my hopes on it's head.
Yup, I did exactly this as well. Things like Car Mechanic Simulator are totally my thing for being relaxing and mechanical, this looks like a joy.
yeah my hopes are also dashed but you know what, if it had been something like 25 bucks, I probably woulda said hey wait a minute, I could just actually organize my room and be a bit happier overall.
Can you get it directly from the developer's website? Steam takes a pretty big cut
The thing I enjoy about Jon is the fact he has an extremely acute level of perception when it comes to specific things
When I saw the student house and immediately said “eh, that’s pretty standard” I started to realise that maybe tonight’s the night we clean the flat XD
I could see myself playing and enjoying a game about cleaning a house, while my real house remains a mess.
It's like Womble, playing Viscera Cleanup Detail, then going to clean his place up xD
John, the bottom cap on a sink's piping is to catch anything that falls in it, like wedding bands or piercings.
This is the game that codsworth played during the centuries the Sole Survivor was frozen
PTSD flashbacks.
Jon, I have the... cough... VR version... cough... of this game in my house. It looks really, uhm, real. If you'd like to clean it just contact me
This is Jon's perception training, so far he's improving...
except for the whole mugs and plates in the kitchen thing
To be honest he wasn't able to do anything from what I could see anyway. He did notice it.
Lazor Kitten I think he's up to +1 now
I think if he has his "hands" out. Then he could have grabbed them
I'm up for this. It seems a bit like viscera cleanup detail but without the eyestrain inducing dark corridors and having to pick up EVERY SINGLE SHELL CASING
Eagle262 This time it's wall building instead.
The bit at the bottom of the sink is actually quite useful. Its a ring catcher, so if you drop your ring or anything else you want to keep down the sink you can just unscrew it.
I bet the game developers really love Jon repeatedly calling the game "really boring"...
Lugotorix Like with viscera cleanup detail it's kinda repetitive and boring, but also addictive and fun at the same time.
It's a good thing that "Boring" is a positive term here in the UK. I mean, look at how much we like James May.
Jon: Can I smash glass.
*Doesn't smash glass*
Jon: Yes you can.
Oh Jon.
I'm questioning the very concept of entertainment... Jon, your wonderful commentary has made revision / intermittently watching a mop throughly enjoyable!
Cameron Hayes Hell, he even made watching excell programming enjoyable! I have no idea how that's even possible.
When Jon flips a house it means something quite different...
Made me spit out my tea you utter monster
I still remember on fallour nv kill everithing he sayd *"fuck you happy brahmin family"*
I'm glad I wasn't the only one.
As a handyman, watching gameplay for this gave me a concussion. First off, why would you work on an electrical receptacle without turning the power off? Second off, you forgot to install a P-trap for you sink, now all the fumes from the sewer are going to seep into the bathroom. Third, whenever I personally use my hand in real life, I never have them out in front of my face as if asking myself "my God, what have I done?" You're also not putting spacers between the tiles, you didn't use grout, and you're stealing things wrong. I've been robbing old ladies since the 80s, so believe me when I say that you're doing it wrong.
"Third, whenever I personally use my hand in real life, I never have them out in front of my face as if asking myself "my God, what have I done?" "
Well you aren't Jon...
Life.
Jon: I have a particular set a skills, skills that I have acquired over a long carrier of cleaning houses, if you turn to 100% complete I will not look for you and I will not find you, however if you don't turn to 100% I will look for you I will find you and I will squeegee you out of existence
Dirt: Good luck *phone click*
I actually do legitimately feel like I would love this game, the idea of just relaxing cleaning and fixing up a house along with home and interior designing sounds absolutely lovely for me
I thought this was going to be boring. Half hour later I'm still captivated.
I didn't have wifi last year from thanksgiving to Christmas, so I spent all my time watching house flipping shows on HGTV, and this game is like a dream to me. Can't wait to get it.
I hate you, Jon. You showed me this game and I immediately went to buy it... BUT ITS NOT OUT YET, there's not even an early access or anything. You are a monster, I want to play this game so bad now.
Nurtai He has that effect, doesn't he. Lures you in with awesome games just for them to be unavailable.
This is the cool content I subscribe for!! ...Seriously, it is, I'm being sincere. Jon being so happy about cleaning and painting is a joy to watch.
As a general bit of advice, for the love of quality workmanship, do NOT do as Jon does and just paint over walls that are in that much of a state. All those cracks and flaking paint _will_ damage the look of the walls as wear continues and some of the damage may be a sign of structural damage or something equally concerning like damp, especially in an old and small house like the one Jon's trying to flip. Take it as far back to the brickwork as you can, use a steamer as little as possible and rely on a scraper or a sander (Just watch out for electrical sockets and joints in wooden timber walls). Then check for damage to the brickwork, any drafts, check that the insulation on the wire runs to the sockets aren't too discoloured or brittle, etc. Basically if you're flipping a house, just passing a surface inspection isn't good enough. If you couldn't live there, noone should.
This is the greatest game you've ever played... So satisfying to watch, I can only imagine playing it.
Games like this are, in fact, therapeutic. 100%, I love stuff like this.
Wait, "welcome back"? This is the first time you play it!
Oops - I meant welcome back to Many A True Nerd, not the game...
Many A True Nerd Well done Jon, well done
ahhh I actually searched "many a true nerd house flipper" to check if you'd covered this before because I was confused
Many A True Nerd BUT WHAT IF ITS SOMEONES FIRST TIME WATCHING THE CHANNEL? JON YOUVE MESSED EVERYTHING UP AHHHHH
Ella Guy-Vogel Glad I'm not the only one
he sounds like bob ross but instead of painting its cleaning.
When Jon mentioned Viscera Cleanup Detail, I got reminded of how my mom was complaining that I didn't clean my room, while I was playing the game.
"had my eye on for a whi-" already liked. I'm sold
Jon, you should start a series called "Things I've had my eye on for a while!" Also, I reckon you'd LOVE Shoppe Keep, a game that, sing along guys, "I've had my eye on for a while!". You literally keep a Medieval shop running by buying stocks, then pricing them and selling them to intrepid adventurers. You can get steam bots to restock shelves, stop miscreants, pick up tossed items, and generally be epic.
Jon playing a dull game is the best thing on the internet
*Up next on HGTV* It's Many A True Nerd
Get out of the way Chip!! Jon is now the new poster child!!
Game of the year 2017, no competition, it's wiped the floor with all the other games. All hail the winner.
Bank balance before buying house: 4.375,-
Bank balance after "flipping" house: 4.380,-
5 bucks for all that work? That clearly wasn't a good investment, Jon! lol
I don't care to play this kind of game myself, but it's very relaxing to watch/listen to Jon play.
I think Jon should do an episode taking a house and turning it into a Fallout 4 style settlement: smashing all the interior walls, painting it post-apocalytical, making it as run down inside and fortified walls as he can. It will be the only Raider proof house in the neighborhood!
Step one: clean up trash house
Step two: flip trash house
Step three: sell everything in someone’s house under guise of “renovating”
Forget step one and two, then repeat step three.
Welcome to house robbing with Jon.
Oh no... I'm gonna get addicted to this.
This + Podcast = perfect
"U" shape bends (whole thing is really a sideways S)in pipes are to prevent air from flowing up out of the sewers. The water sits in it, moves through when needed, but blocks foul smelling air.
Jeez Jon. There are a million games you have your eye on! How many eyes do you have?
1:27 Hello Jon, I am you from an alternate universe. You made the right choice.
I can not wait to play this. Half of the reason I play the Sims is I enjoy the cleaning/flip simulation. So yes, I am in for this.
"I'm one of these mad people who likes ironing...."
*insight into Jon and Claire's relationship intensifies*
"What do you see in him? He LIKES IRONING."
"Think about that for a second."
"Oh my God does he have any brothers just like him."
That "thing" at the bottom of the sink is called the trap, or p-trap depending on where you're from, and it's far from stupid. While the design of that one isn't really typical, it's there to prevent sewer gasses from escaping up your pipes.

This game scares me slightly.
I play games to delay doing housework for as long as possible, and now there is a game about housework?
Am I going to end up playing a different mini game within this game to avoid doing the housework within this game that I am only playing because I really don't want to face the kitchen sink?
Where will it end? Will we have games about watching smut? A Blog Troll Simulator? A Game where you have to manage your own UA-cam channel?
Be afraid Kiddies, be afraid!
Mud Crab No better way to avoid housework than to do virtual housework. At least you can say you still did it. Only problem is it never gets finished.
Oh Jon, never change you wonderfully mad person.
Watched this while chiseling lumps in my basement floor to even them out. Afterwards some scrubbing with a wire brush and some paint and I should have a good room! I just need to seal the walls so it's not a good, wet, room.
Are there any games that Jon doesn’t have his eye on?
I SEE ALL.
Many A True Nerd I think you'll like the "sunless sea".
Hearts of iron apparently
That's because he sees everything, he has information overload.
Jon actually has a perception stat of 10, he just chooses to divert 11 points into Indie game watch, which means he has nothing left when he's actually playing... Or really anything else, let's be honest.
That bit at the bottom of the sink is the trap. It keeps some water there to help prevent sewer gases from coming back up the pipe and into the house.
I'm defiantly buying this this Friday flipping houses and having to clean them and stuff. This is my type of game
How many eyes does Jon have? He's kept his eyes on so many different games.
Imagine this game combined with My Summer Car.
I'd never play another game as long as I lived.
I love being dull.
Give me Train Sim, ETS 2, Elite Dangerous, Farm Simulator, Spintires or similar games any day. Fantastic to play the MP with friends.
Makes a nice change from the regular gaming experiences.
Oh hey, a primary contributor to the great recession. What a fun idea for a game.
Jon, you are FAR from dull. On the contrary, you manage to take things that would normally be found very boring and turn them into something fun and engaging. :)
Please make this a regular series jon this is the best!
I'm part of the 25%... This is genius
That bit at the bottom of the sink is a P trap. It creates a water seal to keep sewer gas from coming back through the drain and smelling the house up.
The bit at the bottom of the sink pipe is in case you drop stuff there like rings and such and it also catches hair and heavier things that could clog the pipes
This was lovely, thank you Jon!
25% viewer here.....lovely! X-D I do like this!
If I had cash to spare, I'd have been one of those weirdos who'd gone and bought this already...
I don't like cleaning myself, and a game like this I wouldn't play. But my god I would love a series of this when it comes out because it's great background noise
"Welcome back -to a game I've never played before- ..."
Never change, Jon...
(Feel free to change, I'm not your Mom)
Jon enjoys ironing? My hero!
The extra bit of the pipe for the sink is for debris such as wedding rings so that the piping doesn't get clogged.
Oh man.... this looks like it could be super fun! I hope they keep working on it to add all the stuff, optimize, and fix the weird Unity reflections. If they do, I will buy this, no questions asked!
This giving flashback's to jons obsession with settlement decorating in Fallout.
I bought my first house with my g/f a couple of years ago and this video accurately reflects the hours of my life spent wasted looking at paint and tiles and furniture and curtains and blinds and good God it's so tedious.
And yet I enjoyed Jon's musings... brains are confusing.
My parent's house had sliding glass doors separating the living room and dining room. Until they had a young son who like running around heedlessly like an idiot, now they have an arch.
Oh god, I know what its like playing videogames with OCD. Sometimes it got so bad that when I was 40 hours into a game of Skyrim I would look at my characters face and decide his nose didn't look great, and then id restart the whole game just to change my characters appearance. And thats just one example. Ever since Ive been on meds though ive felt so much better so its fine.
The game is only available to a few people who get a beta key. January through March is the expected release date. (From the FAQ in the steam forum)
Please, please tell me you narrate your cleaning like this in real life, too. Make a dream come true.
I don't know if he's lost it for playing this game, or if I've lost it for watching him play this game. xD xD
I've never seen a house with a sliding glass door inside it before. One leading out to a backyard or a patio, sure, but to other rooms in the house? And a couch in the kitchen? This can't be an American game.
The thing underneath the sink is a water lock. It's so you have a barrier of water between the sink and the sewer. IE you won't have to smell whatever is in the sewer, from within your house!
Jon I'm only in your first house, but it's a small house and you're making it very fancy, it would make more sense for it to be more basic, seeing how it's a one bedroom house its most likely for a singleton who just want the bare minimum
The "flip" mug my boyfriend just got me, has an entirely different meaning to it now.
Oh my god, I just realised something. Jon is a younger version of James May. He loves keeping everything tidy and enjoys dull things.
Jon, if this whole UA-cam thing doesn't work out for you, I could really use a good housekeeper.
"Not really sure why it's called Bungalow New Puzzles" That's the puzzle!
Wait, did you just say MMOs are boring games!? How dare you say things that are completely accurate!
Jon, you have to, if you haven't already, play Aurora 4x. You would love that game. It's kind of difficult but the twist is that the game is just spreadsheets.
fuckin hell
that house flipping part looks really fun
its like sims 4 building in first person, but with actual values etc
That piece of piping under the sink is called a siphon. you should google it Jon, it's quite practical.
Jons physic hand are back
When i saw this game earlier this week i knew jon would play it
The bit at the bottom of the sink is there in case the sink gets clogged and you need to get whatever's clogging it out. On a totally unrelated note, I feel bad for Claire.
Also, that game looks really satisfying.
I am enjoying this game and may want it for myself, i love games like this. thanks for showcasing it!
Jon, when this game gets its full release, please visit it again and show us a renovation for a really big fancy house.
This would be a good game to livestream. Have the stream viewers help decide how to design a lovely house.
Jon, that bit at the bottom of the sink keeps your house from smelling like a sewer. it's called a syphon
“It will bug me if it’s at 96%....I WILL FIND YOU, DIRT!” “Where’s the cocking dirt?!” No, Jon, this game doesn’t seem to be particularly therapeutic.
Family friendly version of Viscera Cleanup Detail.
I liked Viscera since there is actual stradegy involved, since cleaning/repairing things in the wrong order can make life a lot more difficult. House Flipper seems too straightforward and easy.
Sure, though I'd add that this is an extremely early version, and that is the very first house, and an early tutorial. I imagine both later levels and the finished game will have added a lot.
John , please ... Play Getting over it (with Bennet giddy) seems like a game right up your street.
Pity it's not for sale yet, looks like a nice relaxing game.
My only complaint is that the game isn't available yet. It looks like fun! I guess I am indeed as boring as you are. I also love viscera cleanup detail!
Yes Jon, that’s why Sanctuary always bugged me so because I couldn’t get it properly clean!!!
i wish you would build a nice house in shades of beige. would be really nice for Lindybeige xD
Well this should be good.... Time to start flipping! Get out the table flipping emojis!
