I’ve been obsessing over single pickup pointy Floyd guitars recently like the LTD SD-2, Jackson Brandon Ellis Kelly and that single pickup Solar X model, but I can’t bring myself to pull the trigger, feel like those pointy shapes with a Floyd are for shredlords only, and I’m definitely a humble riffer. Also I’ve started buying less traditional shapes these past few years cos it’s what Ive always been drawn to but afraid to commit to owning, so at the min I’m rocking a Dunable R2 and an LTD Sparrowhawk and I’m in love with both, so I say don’t be afraid to commit to owning a guilty pleasure guitar
I'm with you man. The Brandon Ellis is unreal! And that same Solar dude, so cool! Those two guitars are sick! Congrats on the awesome axes! Thanks for checking out the video mate 🤘
my guilty pleasures are defo the Kaizen and Strandberg, more cos of the ergonomics then anything else, the Kaizen looks like the perfect one for people with shoulder problems
Strandbergs are absolutely great for ergonomics dude, I love them. The Kaizen is something else, it's a pure mystery to me and I think about it every day 😂 Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars the cutout on the bottom left where strats usually have the round part makes the Kaizen look really comfy if ur right shoulder is popping out, but as I said, it looks like that, can't say unless I hold one in my hands and play for an hour
Love the guilty pleasures man! My guilty pleasure is an early 2000's squire strat in sunburst that I picked up in a music shop in scunny for about 75 quid! I decided to have a crack at being a luthier and went to town at it with a sander and a router 😂 It's now a Matt black flathead, hardtail, complete with jumbo stainless frets, locking tuners and a set of emg actives! It's so bastardised due to it's ridiculousness but I love it's little quirks! I had to solder the 3 way switch on, and the switch is backwards to which pickup it selects, and the 9v battery is duck taped to the back of the pick guard in the middle pickup slot! But it chugs, so who cares! Have a good Xmas man!
I've wanted a Warlock since the 80's being a huge WASP fan & it being Blackie Lawless signature guitar. So i recently got the black Stranger Things version as it's the closest BC Rich do to the model he would have played. In fact i love all the BC Rich designs & may well end up with one of each. I do love Ola & the Solar X too & i can see one of them in my future. As to Ola's love of Dime I managed to get my hands on a Dean Razorback not too long ago as well.
That’s awesome man! It’s cool that you got one and you’re stoked on it! And dude, the Razorback nearly made the list 🤘 thanks for getting involved mate!
Those guitars are so sick, I’ll probably never try one of those just because I can’t wrap myself around super modern guitars (the most modern guitar I’ve ever owned was a Charvel so cal, an 80s shred machine😂) but I’d love to try playing one, to see if my opinion change. My guilty pleasure guitar is a very grandpa guitar: I’d love to play and own a gibson Les Paul junior (or a Dc junior) Even though I’m more of a fender guy As always, love your content and I’m always ready to support you and your channel🤙🏻 Julian from Italy 🇮🇹
I appreciate you dude, thanks so much! I love the Socal btw, I’ve had two and I miss them both lol An LP Junior? You’re right, it is a bit of a grandpa guitar buuuut there is something super cool about them! Thanks again bro 🙇🏻♂️
Guilty pleasure? My 2004 squier bullet strat that I paid $88 for in 2007, replaced the hardware, pickups and paid for luthier to refret the thing with bigger frets. I do believe it sounds as good as any USA made strat, and in total cost me less than $400. I sometimes wonder if I am the first person to pay for a refret on a bullet strat.
Huge B.C.Rich fan Kaizen is really cool, finally sth Modern Aristides - Awesome stuff Solar X - input jack is near the Weiner Abasi - awesome modern guitar. great video man.
Tough question, but it’s probably the steinberger headless guitars. Just something about playing a boat paddle with strings that I find kinda endearing 😅 wish they were owned by a company that’s not gibson bc goddamn they’re really neglected atm
I love pointy guitars, Warlock always been my favorite shape since always All the first you shown are amazing. I just played the Kaizen on a shop last week and man, you'll love it as soon hoy it in your hands PS. As I said,I love pointy guitars and my metal version of the reverse V still in works
Happy to hear from another Warlock enjoyer mate! Really?! Don't tell me that, I'll end up working out how to get a Kaizen when I really shouldn't 😂 Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars I'd always loved BC Rich Warlocks... Since kid... Remember watching 80s rock videos and all use warlock, Poison, Mötley Crüe, W.A.S.P., Lita Ford.... And instantaneously fell in love with the brand and shape. Be the way, when I can finish my metal reverse V, can I tag you?
How old were you when you started playing the electric guitar? Did you go to musical school? Did you attend any guitar lessons? I am a subscriber of your channel man, and I love what you are doing. Hope you can also review some tagimas brands, jet guitars, eart, keipro. Keepsafe man. Godbless! From the 🇵🇭
Hey dude! Thanks so much, that’s super kind of you to say 🙏 I was 13 when I started playing and had lessons for a couple of years. Did some time at college for music too but the vast majority of my time playing has been on my own. I’ll keep an eye out for those brands dude, thank you again 🤘
BC Rich Warbeast and Mockingbird are some of mine. They look so unique but they're beautiful. I probably won't own one because I could get a Soloist pro for less, the BC Rich's need to be slightly cheaper then I'd snag one.
Yeah man, great picks. The mockingbird especially, I love that guitar. I think you’re right on price too, they’re ever so slightly out of reach for folks who’d definitely have one but would equally choose something else. Thanks my dude! 🤘
Guilty pleasure guitars? Now that is a hard question. Since I'm not realy fan of pointy guitars, I would say something like Jackson King V Pro (with reversed head stock), LTD Nergal Hex-6 or Ibanez X Iron Label.
@@JackTaylorGuitars Well, thanks for content, I enjoying it. Yeah, I hope you will get a chance to review it at some point. There is also Hex-200, it's "more affordable" model , so you can keep that on your radar. 🙃
That’s cool of you to say mate, thank you! I’d have to look at the cheaper option. My Mrs already hates how much I spend on guitars as it is 😂 Thanks again dude!
I play death metal and retro speed metal and some NWOBHM type stuff. But I love neon and crackle hair metal coloured guitars. If I could get a neon green or orange or a crackle strandberg I'd be so happy. If I had $4000.00 just sitting around I'd get an Aristides. Super light weight and they don't need a setup when the weather changes.
I have some guilty pleasures guitars that I will never EVER be able to get: 1- Bill Kelliher Eclipse, out of production 2- MusicMan Kaizen, for all the reasons you said 😁 3- Ibanez JCRG2204 J-Custom, those top with burl and resin is out of this world 😳
I got a SG VE but I always wanted a Les Paul. My guilty pleasure was the Gibson Flying V. I couldn't imagine myself playing a Gibson Flying V, it's expensive and I think that I don't deserve to play it. But I love it, I love the design, how it looks and sounds. Maybe one day if I become a good guitarist with a budget I might buy one.
I’m with you dude, I love a Flying V too. They’re so cool! If you want one and it’s make you happy then you deserve one bro. Thanks for checking out the video 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Yooo I'm so glad I'm not alone on this. Thank you bro, maybe I'll get one in the future. Keep making these types of videos and maybe include some of the weirdest guitars like the guitar-harp or the triple neck guitar. Lol
If you can you absolutely should mate! And thank you for the suggestion, I'll definitely make that. No shortage of weird and wonderful guitars about is there 😂
Man like Jack! Been waiting for another upload. Look at these comments dude you’re genuinely creating a little community here and it’s so sick. My guilty pleasure is is quite a boring one tbf but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody actually play one.. EVH Wolfgang! I just love the original style of them. Don’t think I’d want to own one but I really dig it’s original shape. Hope you’re all well bud.
Thank you my dude! I know right, I’m super grateful to have such cool people like yourself watching. It means a ton to me! The Wolfgang is sick dude. Definitely a guilty pleasure but I’ve been fancying one for a while. They play great too. Thanks again bro 🤘
I don't know if I have a guilty pleasure guitar shape, but I am a sucker for pink guitars. They just look cool. MGK's Schecter PT catches my eye for some reason, though I'm not a fan of the dude's music. Anyway, keep up the good work ✌
Mate, I totally agree with you. Pink guitars are definitely a bit special and I’m also super curious about the MGK sig 😂 Thanks for watching dude, I appreciate it 🤘
Guitars I secretly want would be probably any Flying V , also something sparkly in a gaudy color, like a daisy rock rock candy 😂 also as someone who grew up playing more “modern” looking guitars like Ibanez RG, there is a certain urge (maybe just coming with age?) to get something more “classic” like a good ole telecaster or something , also the fender paranormal super-sonic is looking pretty nice…
Gotta be a BC Rich Mockingbird, first time I saw Slash play it and realised it wasn't a Les Paul he was playing (enter Leonardo Decaprio watching TV meme) I was like "ooooooooooo". And to be honest, any guitar that's blacked out or metal I just love! Ibanez's, Jim Root sigs, Schecters, Jackson's, even... Kramers! Yours sincerely, A punk/blues player 😂😂😂
I secretly want one of those Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein Bat guitars. By Dean I believe if they are still in business. A person needs serious balls to play one of these monstrosities, and I want to test mine.
So... as an extreme metal head who *is* into black metal and all things pointy, my guilty pleasures are the "normal" guitars. Probably the biggest one is my Ibanez S320 who is approching 15 years old easy. I just don't play her anymore because she doesn't sit right on me now I mainly play Vs and Xs but I'm far too emotionally invested in her to give her up. Other then that... actually I don't think I *have* any other guilty pleasures, you like what you like and there shouldn't be anything wrong with that. Also yes, those Warlocks are fire... Ok, that's my "guilty" pleasure; guitars with large amounts of binding.
You’re totally right man! We like what we like and if you want it then who’s to say you shouldn’t! Thanks for checking out the video dude, I appreciate it 🤘
I mean, who doesn't have a B.C. Rich Warlock? I know, it was my first electric guitar, candy red, the whammy bar was never given to me, so I cannot even use the bridge like it's suppose to be used. To be honest, I really want a Explorer type guitar, for no other reason that Metallica plays them and Metallica was the band that introduced me to metal and I never looked back! And it's gotta have EMGs in it, because why bother if it doesn't? Hey, you looking for that X shape, Solar has their Black Sabbath sale going on, so now's not a bad time to buy if someone is looking.
Bro, your Warlock story is almost exactly the same as the bc rich virgin I had 😂 Same colour, same bridge issues, the lot! And EMG loaded explorer is a great shout my dude. Thanks for watching and the tip, I massively appreciate it 🤘
Im into purple guitars, i don't know why but they look so good... and if it's in an explorer/X or similar shape then im lost. But im into classic/hard Rock and not a metal player
i have 2 guilty pleasure guitars, the first is the frank brothers trillium white signature model with tortoise shell everywhere but come on tell me thats not a gorgeous looking guitar, and my second would definitely have to be the blue sparkle epiphone les paul tommy thayer signature model. there ive said it, dont judge me, dont hate me 🤣
No judgement here my dude! They’re both some solid picks. Hope you’re keeping well and making gains still bro, I’m sure you’re ripping now! Thanks man 🤘
I have to say, my guilty guitar pleasure would 1000% be a Hellraiser C9. Yeah it's dumb and unusable, I may not even know what I'd do with one, but man, when I saw Rob Scallon's Royale video, it made me want to buy one on the spot...
I don't know about a guilty pleasure but I love guitars with thick necks. I don't mean vintage Gibsons and such either. I can't really say why but huge, baseball bat necks are so much more comfortable to play than these ultra-thin modern shredder necks to me. Not just more comfortable in my hand but I also seem to play faster and smoother and my hand doesn't get tired like it does while playing a guitar with a neck smaller than my wrist. There I said it. It's out in the open and I feel better about it. 😉
I’m glad mate 😁 Truth be told, there’s a lot to what you’re saying. Mechanically, it should be easier to grip something thick rather than thin. I’m sure there’s a joke in there somewhere… Thanks for watching mate I appreciate it 🤘
I love the cheaper Ibanez guitars. I’ve got a seven string that was roughly £400 and it’s my main guitar. I’ve also got a cheap Ibanez bass that is unbelievably comfortable compared to my other guitars.
i really love the shape of the .... Epiphone Xtreme G-400 ... there I said it. It's like an SG but , somehow -TWICE. No it does not look like a giant earwig how dare you ! It was in my watch list for a while but I'm mostly a baritone guy. If they'd made any in 27" scale length I would have been unable to stop myself.
I wouldn’t say so, generally speaking. There’s plenty that I absolutely hate. Most other BC Rich models I don’t like at all. Just something about the ones I mentioned gets me. Thanks for watching dude, I appreciate it 🤘
My guilty pleasures huh... I love big guitars. just... big... just like me. I have a guitar with an 840mm scale because of that. Just because I'm a big guy and a "normal guitar" looks miniature on me; mom's words, that I look like I am holding a sandwich :( got a Japanese boutique builder make me one, she can no longer talk shit because that neck is longer than hers. > Sago Kirin Custom model
I own a Dime Dixie Rebel. Gets a few raised eyebrows nowadays. Its great to play though and people seem fine once I've looked them in the eyes and said "I'm not a racist".
I remember loving those when I was younger before I even really knew what the design was from or what it meant. It’s definitely not something I could ever own now though personally. Cheers for watching mate, I appreciate it 🤘
Honestly man, my biggest guilty pleasure Guitar is the BC Rich Draco in black, it’s a poorly constructed, gaudy, edgelord, gothic mess.. to most people 😅😅 I fucking love that guitar 😬😬 when I was working in a music store I would spend my whole lunch break playing the one they had in store, sounded good to 15 year old me and I’m sure I could mod one into an absolute weapon 👌
Bro, this is a great one 😂 Takes massive guts to admit liking that guitar and I respect it! I’m convinced that if we like a guitar as a kid there’ll always be a part of us that still does. Thanks dude 🤘
There is nothing more rewarding on the noble journey that is the endless pursuit of the best tone and the best guitar than finding a guitar that suits you and allows you to express yourself however you want. 😂 I feel like I'm going back in time on a noble quest 😅 Since I started playing when I made the switch from guitars with a head to headless guitars I've noticed I have more control and they just help the creative energy flow differently! :) Sure the Bc Rich guitars are pointy but they look metal and I bet they sound amazing!

@@JackTaylorGuitarsYou've built a welcoming community dude ! Well done and well deserved 👏!
It's a pleasure Jack, I hope you're keeping healthy and that the time off from UA-cam has helped to spark inspiration and get you excited about music and guitars again! :)
Honestly your channel is the only guitar channel I can comment on without fear of toxic people tearing me to bits.
Ola Englund's channel is pretty safe too i think
I appreciate you too dude ! 🙏 have a fantastic day and I hope you don't mind the essay 😂.
That makes me really happy man, thank you. Yeah, Ola's channel has a ton of good people there. I'm well mate, I hope you're doing good too. Take care bro and, honestly, it's never an issue! Look after yourself man!
Thanks so much dude! That sounds like a beast and if you love it that's all that matters! I hope you had a good one too mate, cheers 🤘
My guilty pleasure guitar is a very grandpa guitar:
I’d love to play and own a gibson Les Paul junior (or a Dc junior)
Even though I’m more of a fender guy
As always, love your content and I’m always ready to support you and your channel🤙🏻
Julian from Italy 🇮🇹
I appreciate you dude, thanks so much! I love the Socal btw, I’ve had two and I miss them both lol
An LP Junior? You’re right, it is a bit of a grandpa guitar buuuut there is something super cool about them! Thanks again bro 🙇🏻♂️
Guilty pleasure? My 2004 squier bullet strat that I paid $88 for in 2007, replaced the hardware, pickups and paid for luthier to refret the thing with bigger frets. I do believe it sounds as good as any USA made strat, and in total cost me less than $400. I sometimes wonder if I am the first person to pay for a refret on a bullet strat.
Awesome! Sometimes it's just good to have a guitar all of your own dude. Thanks for watching man! 🤘
Huge B.C.Rich fan
Kaizen is really cool, finally sth Modern
Aristides - Awesome stuff
Solar X - input jack is near the Weiner
Abasi - awesome modern guitar.
great video man.
The Solar Jack I near the meat and two veg?! That seems dangerous haha Thank you for checking the video out my dude! 🤘
Tough question, but it’s probably the steinberger headless guitars. Just something about playing a boat paddle with strings that I find kinda endearing 😅 wish they were owned by a company that’s not gibson bc goddamn they’re really neglected atm
I am actually with you on that! There’s something super cool about them. Thanks for checking out the video mate 🤘
Was that a ml2 pro i saw at the start of the video? if so, is there a review coming out, and do you like it?
👀 It might have been mate! I’m working on the review, it’s due out after the next video. Short answer? I love it! Thanks for watching dude 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars nice one! I've wanted one for ages, but they are pretty expensive here in Norway :D Looking forward to the review, cheers!
Thanks mate! I'll make sure I cover as much as I can in the review! 🙇🏻♂️
I love pointy guitars, Warlock always been my favorite shape since always
All the first you shown are amazing. I just played the Kaizen on a shop last week and man, you'll love it as soon hoy it in your hands
PS.
Yes mate, absolutely! I need to see it!
Terrance Hobbs from Suffocation made me love the warlock
I'm not hugely familiar with them but the more people who love the Warlock, the better! Cheers dude 🤘
Yeah man, all good shouts! I wondered if I'd see the Nergal signature appear on here! Thanks for watching mate, I appreciate it 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Well, thanks for content, I enjoying it.
I think my Indonesian made Jackson Dinky is my guilty pleasure guitar because I find myself playing it more than my USA Fender 😅
Sometimes it's like that isn't it, when you get a 'lower tier' guitar but something about it is just better. Thanks for checking out the video mate 🤘
Dude, that sounds like an absolute dream guitar! I'd be all over that too. Thanks for watching mate 🤘
I have some guilty pleasures guitars that I will never EVER be able to get:
1- Bill Kelliher Eclipse, out of production
2- MusicMan Kaizen, for all the reasons you said 😁
3- Ibanez JCRG2204 J-Custom, those top with burl and resin is out of this world 😳
Oh yeah! 3 solid shouts there my dude! Thanks for watching bro, I appreciate it 🤘
I got a SG VE but I always wanted a Les Paul.
No shortage of weird and wonderful guitars about is there 😂
@@JackTaylorGuitars I thank you again bro, and Yes I will definitely watch that video. It'll be a banger of an episode.
Cheers bro 🙇🏻♂️
Pink guitars are definitely a bit special and I’m also super curious about the MGK sig 😂 Thanks for watching dude, I appreciate it 🤘
I gotta say, I love the esp sparrowhawk
Yes! 100%! Love mastodon too but that guitar is sick in it’s own right! Thanks for watching mate, I appreciate it 🤘
Guitars I secretly want would be probably any Flying V , also something sparkly in a gaudy color, like a daisy rock rock candy 😂 also as someone who grew up playing more “modern” looking guitars like Ibanez RG, there is a certain urge (maybe just coming with age?) to get something more “classic” like a good ole telecaster or something , also the fender paranormal super-sonic is looking pretty nice…
Mate, I think the classic looking craving creeps up on us all 😂 Thanks for watching man 🤘
I like the new warlocks, and I historically haven't like them much at all. I like the Type X as well
They’re a bit special aren’t they dude! Cheers for watching, I appreciate it 🤘
Gotta be a BC Rich Mockingbird, first time I saw Slash play it and realised it wasn't a Les Paul he was playing (enter Leonardo Decaprio watching TV meme) I was like "ooooooooooo". And to be honest, any guitar that's blacked out or metal I just love! Ibanez's, Jim Root sigs, Schecters, Jackson's, even... Kramers!
Yours sincerely,
A punk/blues player 😂😂😂
Bro, I love the mockingbird too. Just a cool af looking guitar and there's no denying it! Thank you my dude 🤘
I secretly want one of those Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein Bat guitars. By Dean I believe if they are still in business. A person needs serious balls to play one of these monstrosities, and I want to test mine.
Mate I am certain it would be a test but, tbf you’ve definitely passed just by wanting to! Haha Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤘
So... as an extreme metal head who *is* into black metal and all things pointy, my guilty pleasures are the "normal" guitars.
Thanks for checking out the video dude, I appreciate it 🤘
Dean ml's are my guilty pleasure for sure, unfortunately i do not like the feel of them they but they look so cool
Totally know what you mean dude, they look incredible but they feel super bulky! Thanks for watching mate 🤘
My guilty pleasure is strumming MGK's Mom. The tone is warm and fuzzy.
I don’t even know what to say to this 🤣 Thanks for watching bro, I appreciate it 🤘
I mean, who doesn't have a B.C.
The heart wants what the heart wants dude! If you want to blast some classic rock on a purple X then you totally should! Thanks for watching man 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars exactly. Thank you for the video and your reply 👌🏻
My pleasure mate, truly 🙏
Ugh I've wanted a Warlock so bad
Me too my dude. Me too! Thanks for watching mate 🤘
My guilty pleasure is to play a hello kitty guitar just to see if I look like an idiot or a legend shredding on it 😂
😂 Dope choice. You'd rock it man. No one would call you an idiot with your chops!
@JackTaylorGuitars Cheers bro. I'm sure my Mrs would 🤣
My guilty pleasure is the Minarik FLAME guitar, looks totally fkin ridiculous and impracticable as fkk but they sound deadly
Oh yeah they are a nuts looking guitar 😂 Thanks for watching mate 🤘
@JackTaylorGuitars loving the channel man, yout videos are fucking great and the editing quality is A1
That's cool of you to say dude, thanks for being around 🙇🏻♂️
i hate single cuts but love a nice bc rich ironbird with kahler
Oooh the ironbird and Khaler combo? That’s definitely a good one! Cheers mate 🤘
i have 2 guilty pleasure guitars, the first is the frank brothers trillium white signature model with tortoise shell everywhere but come on tell me thats not a gorgeous looking guitar, and my second would definitely have to be the blue sparkle epiphone les paul tommy thayer signature model. there ive said it, dont judge me, dont hate me 🤣
No judgement here my dude!
I can totally understand that dude! Such a crazy guitar but they are cool! Thanks for watching mate 🤘
I’m sure there’s a joke in there somewhere…
Thanks for watching mate I appreciate it 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Haha. I was thinking the same jokes as I was typing. "Brilliant minds... "
That is true bro 😂
I love the cheaper Ibanez guitars. I’ve got a seven string that was roughly £400 and it’s my main guitar. I’ve also got a cheap Ibanez bass that is unbelievably comfortable compared to my other guitars.
I’m with you on that, for the most part the cheaper Ibanez stuff is killer. Only ever had one that truly sucked! Thanks my dude 🤘
Guilty Pleasure: Duesenberg Starplayer TV Phoinc in Black.
There ya go 😎
Ahhhh yeah that’s definitely a good pick dude! Thanks for the comments and checking out the video man 🤘
i really love the shape of the ....
Mate…When I was younger I didn’t think a cooler guitar than that existed haha I’d still have one now! Thanks for watching dude 🤘
You like pointy guitars?
I wouldn’t say so, generally speaking. There’s plenty that I absolutely hate. Most other BC Rich models I don’t like at all. Just something about the ones I mentioned gets me. Thanks for watching dude, I appreciate it 🤘
Guitars I secretly Love...
1 - Gibson Reverse Flying V
2 - Bendo Distortocaster
3 - Any Shovel-based electric guitar build
The shovel guitars fully threw me off then dude 😂 I'd definitely have one though! Thanks mate 🤘
No Les Pauls or Mustangs for you then dude! Thanks for watching man 🤘
bc rich mocking bird is my guilty pleasure
Oh yeah, I'm with you on that! Thanks for watching mate 🤘
Gibson Explorer 😅
I'm absolutely with you on that! 🤘
Cheers for watching mate, I appreciate it 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Starsky and Hutch init?
I thought it was Dukes of Hazard man but I could be totally wrong 😂
@@JackTaylorGuitars 😂😂😂
😂 I feel like I'm going back in time on a noble quest 😅
Since I started playing when I made the switch from guitars with a head to headless guitars I've noticed I have more control and they just help the creative energy flow differently! :)
Sure the Bc Rich guitars are pointy but they look metal and I bet they sound amazing!
