"Do you understand Japanese?"
Answers "no, i dont understand Japanese" in perfect Japanese
some kind of Irony. Lmao. laugh hard at that part
日本人:日本語はわかりますか?
私:いいえ, 日本語はわかりません。
lmao yeah, but it is actually very useful. It implies you're a very beginner, like learning how to say "I can't speak Japanese", in Japanese lol. It's a good way to tell others you can't speak their language. At least I find it better than speak other languages until they figure that out lol.

Maybe like this "Iie, wakattenai desu" I can't write it in hiragana or kanji. 😂😂
Wow they made the language they use in anime into a real thing

@With Good Taste WGT But how many people know that Yusa's comment is a joke?
I am Japanese. I am delighted to have foreigners studying Japanese so much. It's so cute that foreigners talk hard in Japanese, and everyone in Japan likes it. I will try my best to speak English.

Yes, she's very cute.
I've been speaking Japanese for years and recently past the N4 test but it is amazing how many of the early beginner words you do forget when you don't use them!
For some words that is true like 'hello' and 'thank you' but as you learn more words and also more 'casual' words you tend to no longer use beginner ones as often as you might think. Also once you learn more verb conjuration you get used to words sounding different and you will rarely say them as a single word.
Agreed
Weird... I passed N4 too and those words on the video are definitely the ones I'll forget for last or hardly forget at all. Those are really very common.
Rimmer Lol
How long did it take you to learn the language?
Life Goals: Get married to a girl that is at least 5% as charming as Risa-sensei is.
But japanese tend to have 2 face the inner face they show to their inner circle like family and close friend or boyfriend and 2nd is outer face they show to colleage at work or when they work. 🙄 thats what i know about japanese. CMIWW
My Japanese wife is mean. I laugh it off. That makes her mad. But she is smart.
Lukman Sp That’s everyone... I can’t think of a single person who wouldn’t act differently in different situations
Well yes, i came here out of curiosity, but stayed for Risa-sensei. I hope I am not rude when i say, that learning with her is pleasure.
@Ruri Ichigyou I met her though a friend, she said she was going back to Japan in two weeks. So I proposed to a doctor 15 minutes into our third date.
My Grandmother was from Japan and tried to teach me Japanese when I was young but I didn't care at that age. Oh, do I regret it now.
7:55 lol I really like her. She's weird and funny, a great teacher.
Your email id send me
I want talk to you
When you say sentences, you go a bit fast, would be nice to say it a first time slowly and then normal speed?
I would try reading it, then rewinding. Japanese actually speak pretty fast and I always have to ask for them to repeat what they said.
You can always slow the video down it's helped me a lot
Yea, repetition really helps me. Whether it’s said the same way again or differently, the more she repeats herself the better. (At least for me)
that is slow speed for Japanese people lol
theSillyFrench Lol
20 minutes of Risa enjoying herself is more entertaining and satisfying than it has right to be!
I recently went to Japan two months ago for the first time and had watched so many videos like these in preparation. Thought I had everything to a T but when it came to speaking the right Japanese words quickly in response, I completely screw up the pronunciation or draw a blank and use gestures. I felt embarrassed when a cook brought out my order and when I remembered to say thanks, I ended up saying "Itakimasu" instead of "Itadakimasu". They knew I was trying my best after laughing it off and I still ended up having a wonderful time, even with those issues. I guess it just taught me that I need to relax before speaking and to practice pronunciation aloud more often. ^_^'
very nice
the second teacher is super pretty and cute. i have my heart melted after watching her acting and interacting. Thanks for the tremendous motivation you have provided during more than 20 minutes of videos
"Do you understand japanese?"
*proceeds to say that she doesn't in japanese*
wakarimasen...sksksksks
Dear Risa-san,
Thank you so much for your wonderful Japanese lessons.

Awesome, thank you :)
In the second video I would have found it helpful if the Japanese phrases were spoken as well as written, rather than just written!
Thanks!

This is exactly the kind of video I have been looking for! All the must haves for travel!! Thank you!!!
In my Japanese classes they used "Hanasu" a lot for speaking, but when I went to Tokyo I had to learn that "Shaberu" (chat) is used more often
thanks ive uploaded that into my brain now. very useful. shaberu kurete arigatou
Can't get enough of this cuteness !!!
Thank you risa. Thank you Japanese pod 101. Risa is a amazing teacher. Japanese pod 101 is a excellent resource. Every one has helped me immensely in learning Japanese. One day I will understand Japanese so well I will be able to think in Japanese.
ありがとうございます!本当にたすかれました。
You're so cute! But you should give more samples on how to use it in Japanese sentences, not in English...
shidani chaniago Yes! I wish that too
how to use it, you acquire through immersion. Context. Also, nothing more should be asked from someone who is teaching for free °°°° how to use it, you do immersion and take proper lessons.
there is more videos, this is maybe the most simple.
Exactly. Pretty much the exact thing that I just posted.
@@theshuttergrind Dude, what's your problem? That was well-meant constructive (and needed) criticism. Just go away and don't post such a useless comment.
Thanks for separating the Hirigana, I'm learning Japanese, but first on studying Hirigana. So this is helpful!
Thank you very much for the opportunity to learn from you! It's an amazing thing! I really love your lenguage .
Watching Risa makes my day happier! Thank you very much!
.. Risa makes this so fun. Haha. I'm really glad I was able to find this.
Could you make a more condensed version with each phrase only and repeat each a few times? Love the information for each phrase, but it would be nice to have a video with the phrases alone. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Love your videos!
i am a new learner of Japanese and i am so glad i found this video it was so helpful

I loved the humor... and the singing..! Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much for these amazing videos and resources for free!!! We all appreciate the quality of all this material available for free! And Risa you're absolutely adorable!!
no doubt about that and her teaching style is very good
i love these videos! i learn so many words from them ^^ i think it would be even better if the example sentences were said in japanese, and maybe english, but for sure have japanese captions at the bottom. said in japanese, written in japanese. ♡
Thank you very much your videos is really helpful
Omg, the whole video was so wholesome and mentally pleasing.
Brings back GREAT memories of my life in Japan while in the Navy, loved those three years....😎👏👏👏👏👏🤘⚓
I know this is an older vis & I love the way you put the phrases in context but I wish you would repeat it once slowly & clearly before you explain. It's good to hear at a natural tone & pace but trying to memorise it is hard unless you give it one go a little louder & slower. If this has been changes later then ignore this, will check but I may as well finish this post :D
Thx Risa x
すごくわかりやすいです!。ありがたいです。
Very useful. I’m learning it😜😜. Thank you Risaaa
Risa is so fun to learn from! Her energy makes me happy :)
I came here to learn language.... But i don't know I suddenly fall in love with her voice words and expressions.....😍

Going in 2021, so excited, learning as much as possible between now and then
This is really usefull ! Thank you for your help 🙇♂️
Many years ago I used to watch anime in Japanese, but it was a bit like hearing morse code. Now I recognize a lot of words and am given the meanings. I don't mind the lack of romanization in the video, but appreciate the person who wrote the words in roman letters in the comments. Ideally we should become very familiar with hiragana, and not just a few of the symbols.
You're a talent Risa.
Edit: I put this before even getting to the singing part. I meant you were talented at teaching Japanese. But you sing well also.
I love you acting, and got singing. Making japanese easier to learn with your personality, thank you.
Risa you are the best!ちょうかわいい!!
Dang it! I just started with german and france, and now I want to learn Japanese, my life is going to be more complicated... I just love learning language from this channel, amzing hosts, great editing, interactive and undertandable.
This is great because the way she says things and the way she adds emotion really helps me remember!
The only thing is, I wish she would repeat the Japanese word at least once every skit. Sometimes she just explains the Japanese word in English, but it really helps me to hear the Japanese word repeated a couple of times!
Thank ya u so much. Definitely my favourite teacher on the japanesepod channel. 🙂
Thank you teacher🙏
You know Risa, it would be great for you to do this at an intermediate or even lower advanced level.
I’ve been here 23 years and generally have zero problems in daily life. But my Japanese never gets better-it just stays at the same intermediate level.
Any chance of a video like this?
I am already taking classes of Japanese language but ,so far seeing your channel is also nice !!!!!.....😉😆😘😍😊😁😀😃.....
Binita Kumar how is it? Is it hard? I’m also thinking of taking Japanese classes but I’m scared because of the new alphabet
@@kadabra4009 its hard, but its not like 20 years. But only to read a japanese newspaper, you need to know over 9'000 LETTERS. But speaking would be better. I have 2 booksfor 6 yr olds with the alphabet. The important ones are:
