Yup learn the hiragana alpahbet and basics. Move up from there. I also read the learning how to read and write in Japanese is hard so idk of that will help you in your journey
I'm PLANNING a trip for my 65th birthday next year , and I hope to learn at least a little Japanese so that I can enjoy more of the Japanese culture and show my RESPECT ,by at least trying to speak it . THANK YOU !🇵🇷🙏✌👊🥋⛩
Japan has been on the top of my ‘travel list’ since I was a teen. I was not fortunate to travel after completing my degree. But I hope to make it there one day. As a mother (and wife) I’ve now started teaching my children, because when I do travel, I will take them with me. It is only right to speak the language (or at least try) of the nation one visits/ we started off with songs, which they randomly sing now. Numbers and phrases. I’ve had to brush up on my accent too and started reading to help me get a better understanding. I love Japanese culture, I pray we can experience it in person ❤️🇯🇵
I’m going Japan in 2-3 years in exchange so I wanted to learn but I realized no other method for learning works better for me than listening. And that’s exactly how I learned English cause when I was a baby my parents would talk French mostly (my first language, Canadian) but a lot of English and by just listening and watching I learned in a year or so. That’s why I say I was kind born knowing English because since birth I knew it. After I can hold a basic conversation I’ll get to learn to write which is quite easy for me but I’m still practising
It depends it could be more important to learn Japanese, next year I'll go in a college where you learn Japanese so I'm more focused on learning basics in japanese than getting a good grade on my high school finals
Im english starting my journey to learn using all the apps i can and having found this will really help cant wait to even just have basic conversations in Japanese !!!
How far are you now? I just finished learning hiragana but I'm still kinda slow to identify them so I'm still practicing hiragana before I get to Katakana
Wednesday, July 17, 2019. This time I found the best video to learn phrases in Japanese which are presented in the video with a man that gives time to catch the words he is pronouncing. I noticed that there are some ways to pronounce the words suppressing one or two letters that I usually pronounced in isolated words like "u" in "su" that when pronounced in the sentence the "u" sound is suppressed and goes ahead as an "sss" or something like this. But anyway, I really liked the time the man takes to pronounce the sentences given me, the watcher, more time to understand Japanese the way it is spoken by the people of Japan, well!! I learned that in Japan there are some Prefectures or regions where some dialects of the language are spoken but those areas of Japan may not be frequented by occasional visitors. I am so happy now that I will celebrate it preparing a "Margarita" with tequila, lemon sugar, and salt and enjoyed this personal celebration. Maybe I will say to myself "Kanpai" or something like this. Long live that beautiful country with all its people that are full of cheerfulness and hospitability for the visitors to the country. I wish to Japan PEACE AND HAPPINESS FOREVER.
Oof dude, if you want to know how English actually sounds I’d suggest you watch English speaking UA-camrs since there’re a lot of them. This is a robot text to speech voice and you’ll sound weird if you talk like this 😅
It's always been hard for me to learn I'm Japanese Okinawan it's my blood line but thank you for the help it's helping me alot my mom introduced me to your page
Japanese is not easy but interesting. In the first stage , everyone will be confused because Japanese is totally different from other language. Gradually you will be enjoyed. Let’s enjoy to learn!! So interesting!!!
Thank you so much for this simple tutorial, its so easy to follow and very clear, it really helps me understand more of Nihonggo, im just a beginner so this one is so helpful! ❤ Arigatou!!
Only this channel break up the speech, easy to follow. I am in love with his voice. Such handsome voice. I listen to him everynight to go to sleep. Please do some more in different area; such as numeral and how to say it. Shopping aspects. Traffic signs ect. Language with direction when driving.
I’ve been learning Japanese with duolingo for a about on lesson every day for about 100 days. I know all of the hiragana characters and most of the katakana characters. This is a lot more helpful than duolingo because duolingo teaches random words
私はドイツ人です。 家で3年勉強してきました、学校に行きません。 勉強するのが好きです。 いつか、日本に行きたいです。 でも少しだけ日本語が話せます。 If I said anything wrong there, please correct me! I'm still learning, on my own, without a teacher.
Me and my best friend must learn this! we have so much we want to do despite everything. and this is something we want to do together. I cant wait til we do!!
As a student of Zen, mastering this language is a must. Though I am enmeshed in the Nihon culture from the Noh theatre, to Kendo, to the Tea ceremony -etc A Japanese friend said that I must travel to Japan. Okay...

This is one thing no Japanese guide prepared me for: Japanese is the fastest spoken language at a little over seven syllables per second. English comes in I think at number four with five and a half syllables per second. I was not ready for that break neck speed when I arrived.
i think we are all weebs aka otaku. cause like the rest of you, im sick of subtitles and want to know what is being said in japanese, but this is going to take time to learn. as a friend pointed out
Understanding Japanese sentence structures will help you understand individual words and will help with your memorisation in the long run, there are loads of short videos on UA-cam explaining them ^.^
