I wish Epica and all the amazing metal bands would play on the radio here in Europe and the rest of the world but unfortunately it doesn't happen
Great reaction Jen! Not only are their songs and talent off the charts, but so often the lyrics to their songs have deep meaning. Love Epica so much! This song is one of 7 that is on their soon to be released EP collab effort on each song. I am pre-ordering mine!! Charlotte Wessels is with them on one of the songs as well. Such great memories now of Cincinnati show huh Jen? I hope to see them again soon.

Btw, I've never hear Epica on radio here in Europe either. Maybe on some internet radio but not the main broadcasters.
It's all pop and shitty hip-hop, sometimes a bit of rock, but nothing heavier or orchestral, etc.
Thats why i listen to Epica and Eluveitie each day on Spotify, when I'm at work. And here and there some other metal.
And when i am home am watching and listen them both on youtube cd and bluray
They're missing out. *sighs*
Over here in the Netherlands they are I guess less known than in other countries. There is a loyal fanbase but the majority here have never heard of Epica.
So it's time to invite Simone to the Beste Zangers show to blow everyone of their socks with her incredible voice.
Sad but true; I'm from their home country and I never hear them on the radio here either. I found out about them through yt-reactors like you an a few others.

Hi Jen, lovely reaction 👍 this video was recorded at their 20 years anniversary concert, witch I was fortunate enough to be at, and it was amazing ‼️ there were a lot of nationalities, I believe Mark ( Jansen) said 54, Mark thanked them all for coming and mentioned he had a lot of respect for them for coming to the Netherlands and that a lot of them slept outside the venue.
Btw. They DON’T play EPICA on the Dutch radio 😢same goes for NightWish. Dutch radio is horrible as well. 🫶🤘💐🇳🇱
Yup, as a fellow Dutchie I can attest to that: no Epica, Nightwish, BlackBriar, Dear Mother etc. on Dutch MSM radio. Don't really mind, since I only listen to classical radio. On the positive side, not playing these great bands keeps them out of the mainstream, which has its charm. Metal will always be kinda "underground", and that's all right by me 🤘🌷

@@stephencaveney4840 Thanks. Actually, I looked for their songs about a half year ago, but there is more than one band with this name. I wasn't even sure which one are they. Since they'll be touring with Epica I want to check them out so I know them at least a bit :)

Yeah! And compare it with the Aftermovie (album version). In the album version there's a massive choir whereas in the Omega Alive version it's only Simone singing the first half of the song, though her operatic voice is really badass. 🙃
Hey, it William and I know exactly what you mean I’ve been following all types of heavy music my whole life and it’s always been a struggle to try to search it and find it growing up because this country is so damn scared of the heavy metal image that they flood the radios with country sound and bullshit poppy sound and bullshit and that’s all this country seems to want to listen to you go over to other countries and heavy music in general is so much bigger in other countries it’s just sad and pathetic

Loved the "rant" btw. 👌As to hope, we're preparing over here in Dutchieland. Becoming more & more self-sufficient. Own greenhouse (geodesic dome), livestock, veggies, energy (bio digester), fish (aquaponics). Slowly but surely disengaging from the system they're gonna crash & building our own communities. It's the way to go & besides, it's great fun. Cheers!

I went to see them in Atlanta last week, unfortunately, I do not live in Georgia and we had to drive all night to get me back for jury duty the next morning. Fell asleep in the jury box during voire dire and got shouted at. It was rough but worth it.

@Freethinker I saw Seven Spires open for Dragonforce with the one and only #SquirrelQueen. Last minute replacement for when Visions of Atlantis tour bus broke down and didn’t make the gig.
I help you out of a dream Epica is not on Dutch radio at all. It is only rap hiphop pop and other shit on the radio.
On the flipside, we do get to go to see all these amazing local bands.
