Some very good music came out of Ireland in the 1960’s and 70’s - Undertones, Thin Lizzy, Boomtown Rats, Horslips, Van Morrison, Rory Gallagher, Radiators from Space, Skid Row and of course U2 who got together first in 1977......
Saw them at the Punch & Judy Theater in Grosse Point, Michigan in June, 1980.We parked behind the theater and as we walked up the band was outside, shirtless.I made a praying motion with my hands and said, "Father Feargal." Don't know why.I was with my brother and the two O'Donnell sisters. That's about as Irish a date as you can get.
Heard Fergal on Radio 4 the other day. Yeah, radio 4. He was on a program about walking and hiking, how good it was for his health, and his knee operation, and I thought, 'shit, we're all getting old'!!!
@@portcullis5622 There was a great programme on R4 last night talking about his early years, they reckon he's a bit of a bulldog who won't back down from his beliefs and ideas, so he sounds like just the guy to try to stop our waterways being polluted.

Still amazing. What a song, Feargal vocals are stunning.
Am I getting old, or was music from this era miles better than current popular music?
ITS A 10000000000 MILES BETTER THEN TODAYS MUSIC

It was - music from this era was utterly fantastic

I love these guys. Makes me buzz at my age. Still.
Thanks for replies . watched Feargal tv last year talking about cleaning rivers up in U.K
oh man I still remember being 8-10 years old and watching them on Top of the Pops back in the day. Just memorable songs and a great time.
One of the best ever punk bands, absolute classic tune from the 70's .

Bellerophon challen If this was Twitter, I’d retweet that
He regularly speaks out about river pollution. An unlikely champion of our waterways, but good for him.👍

Looking at their outfits, I can’t help but notice similarities with what the Bay City Rollers used to wear!
@@steves1460 That's how they dressed all the time. No stage clothes for The Undertones.

Your daughter has class xxx
My 8 and 10 year old love this band ( Canadian girls in Glasgow)
I wonder if the beaming girl with the nice knockers by the stage was with the band or told by production to dance a little and beam at the camera ?
The Rembrandts took the intro riff for "I'll be there for you" from here?
So, like, what was wrong with Jimmy that that the ambulance had to take him away? Asking for a friend...
the b side of the record was mars bar maybe he overdosed on sugar
A breakfast of buckfast
Jimmy was suicidal cause no one was paying any atention to him. I thought it was clear enough.
