      i think i’m about to return my 4K model for the 2.8K. i was watching TV shows and UA-cam videos and the refresh rate only being 60hz was driving me insane. i think im way too use to 120hz so the fact that it was noticeably jittery was too bothersome. is there any jitteriness on the 2.8K model? i would hope not as the refresh rate is higher

    My son is going to Ohio State this fall and i have been watching all of these laptop reviews. I won't buy until i see the Snspdragon Elite reviews. 15-20 hour battery life means that he will never have to carry a charger! Plus they are in the $1200 range.

      Snapdragon is still new and you wouldn't want your son to endure all the bugs while he's relying on it for school. I recommend wait until they ironed out all the bugs before you get it for your sun.

    Any idea when we’ll get the head to head on the Yoga 9i vs the Spectre? Bought a Spectre a couple of weeks ago during a really good sale at Best Buy, but Lenovo is having an even better sale right now. I can get the Yoga 9i with the same specs as the Spectre for $300 less. Would love to see the vs video before I pull the trigger.

      HP reliability is leagues below Lenovo. Something to consider if you plan to keep the laptop for the long haul. Don't get me wrong, I love the looks and specs of the Spectre X360, but I can't afford to buy a laptop, or new house, see below* every year or two! Last reliability score for both was Lenovo A, HP D-.
      HP customer service is crap, so when that Spectre breaks, good luck! The customer service ranking of Lenovo is 3rd (just behind Razr and Apple) and HP is ranked 8 out of the 10 listed, barely above Samsung.
      Performance-wise both score pretty much on par with each other, you won't really notice a difference in normal use. But the score for the HP is 0 when it's in the shop....
      *My personal experience with an HP tablet ended when the battery swelled enough to pop the case. I got it out of the house and to a safe area before it exploded, scattering pieces of the tablet in a 3 foot radius, and left some pretty good scorch marks, too. From my research, HP still has this issue at too high of a rate, they apparently still have not switched to better quality batteries, or fixed whatever issue is over-stressing them. HP customer service dismisses reports of swollen batteries with "it's a consumable item". Expect to replace the battery at least every two years, sooner if you get a bad one. And they aren't cheap. Some have gotten lucky though, it's a tech lottery, with bad odds.

    Has anyone had problems with "screen door effect" with the 2.8K OLED screen? I have been reading that it seems to be an issue with most 2.8K OLED touch screens from a few different makers including HP Spectre 360 14". I am trying determine if I should look at other options e.g. X1 2 in 1 woth IPS screen... realize the performance will not be same. I tend to buy and use a laptop for many years before upgrading... Right now typing on an older DELL XPS 14 that has served me well.

    I've been a fan of Lenovo PC's for quite some time and the 2024 Lenovo Yoga 9i is no exception. The price is very reasonable for everything you get. It is a gorgeous laptop and the webcam and internal mics are both crystal clear! The audio quality of the built in speakers are also quite good for a Windows laptop. Since the RAM is soldered in, I would go with the 32GB version to max it's performance. No Wi-Fi 7 is a bit of a letdown for 2024 as well as no HDMI port and no SD card reader but unless you need it, it should not deter you from purchasing an otherwise nice machine. Thank you Andrew for a great review as always!! 👍😁

    • @raghu_rsb
      @raghu_rsb 7 місяців тому

      @@marianaspiratos4612 Lunar Lake is the new Intel Processor, which is more efficient and advanced compared to the current generation Meteor Lake CPU found in this model. It performs better when it comes to AI tasks due to its significantly more powerful Neural Processing Unit (NPU).
      Due to its all-new design, it is expected to be more efficient, resulting in longer battery life and cooler operation.
      I've been looking for a laptop that is both lightweight and powerful, which led me to the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i. Basically, I'm looking for a capable and portable creator laptop for content creation.
      Since editing software is increasingly focusing on AI, I think waiting for a Lunar Lake-equipped laptop might make sense for futureproofing.
      Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite is also a good option, but as it's based on Arm architecture, we might have to wait atleast couple of years for native app support (currently relying on translation).
      Hope this helps and all the best for your new Laptop.

    Nice pc. Camera and mics are good. Sound might not be as good as the mac but it is still very good. Display appears very good. Like the 4K. This pc comes with the coplilot key but it would also run with the "Recall" program that Microsoft is planning to include down the line. It was originally suppose to install enabled but now Microsoft has now plan to be installed disabled after much user and security complaints. Even though it has yet to be rolled out users should keep watch when this is actually rolled out and the potential security concerns it raises. Getting back to this pc it would appear to be an excellent choice for users. When you get a chance read about this "Recall" program Microsoft is planning. Excellent review.

      This is a study and productivity laptop, putting in a dedicated graphics will just drain battery life and increase heat and fan noise. Futhermore the laptop is unable to power the dedicated graphics with alot of power because of its small chassis, making it ineffective. Intel arc graphics are improved this year too.

    Not being a computer expert by any means I have say (and this comment by no means relates to this You Tube review channel by any means) is that I am utterly sick and tired of listening to all of these “benchmarks” and tests. They mean nothing to me. Ultimately I want to know if a machine is any good or not in plain English.
    Over the past 2 years due to external influences from my business partners I went over to using Apple devices. Biggest mistake I ever made IT wise. Essentially regardless of the “so called “ wonderful M series chips I found the Apple O/S utterly unusable. I am speaking from a business perspective. As a consequence I had to return to a Windows machine. I have used HP, Acer but predominantly Dell in the past (my last windows machine prior to sadly making the mistake to use Apple was a 15” Alienware (2019).
    I have now purchased another Dell, the XPS 9440 with the OLED screen and RTX 4050 descrete card. Obviously this was purchased predominantly for business use and as a replacement for my MacBook Air M2. Yes I know the Dell is double the cost of the M2 and similar in cost to an M3 Pro.
    I intended to use the Dell for casual gaming something I had massively missed with the Apple machine. I was disappointed to learn after purchase and “further” reading that the RTX 4050 in the Dell XPS 14 is only rated at 30w, the lowest rating for a 4050 card on the market I believe. However after using the XPS 14 for a month now, with the gorgeous OLED screen (and despite the largely negative reviews it seems to have garnered) is a fantastic machine. It’s not a gaming machine but with the settings turned down, notably the screen resolution, it is running Cyberpunk 2077 silky smooth and with only 30w dedicated to the graphics card, it barely gets warm. I really don’t understand why this machine has had such negative reviews. Yes it is pricey, but so far I love it.
    Please though less benchmarks etc and more in straight English that the average person understands.

      @andrewmarcdavid  7 місяців тому +1

      Ok, I will stop showing benchmarks. Thanks.
