Hey David.......Its been a couple of years since I did a full rebuild on an engine since ive moved and watching you work reminds me of the fun I used to have.....every saturday was mates round, go for a fry up then back to tha garage and build bikes. Im hoping when house and outside is done I can get back to it........that was always the plan!! Keep up the great work and looking forward to seeing this bike run again.....tho' dont envy you getting that bugger back in!!!
@iantivenan4841 I'll try to remember to make them a little bit longer. The only problem is the longer I make them the longer it takes to upload the video to UA-cam. Our connection takes about 1 hour for 15 mins of video.
Hi David hope your well, Wow!! there is some damage in that engine loads of chewed up metal that must have had a catastrophic failure. Good luck with the rebuild hope you can get the parts for this classic bike. These bike are usually bullet proof, must have been rider error from the last owner. Can't wait to see how you get on mate, as always a great video catch you soon take care
Suprised your flywheel gear didnt loose any teeth when the counterbalance shaft snapped. Your right somone probly in there and torqued it too much with a big rattle gun. Its only suposed to be half the torque of the flywheel
Well David, I guess it is a lot of work. Basically, you will have to rebuild the motor, right? I guess it will be more videos to come I'm stoaked on how it's going to turn out until next time take care...
My man now that i aligned my balancer gear to the fly wheel properly its put the dampers under pressure they were hard like plastic. Now guess what! I found half of one in the oil screen. I should of waited and ordered them before reasenmly. Anyway do you have a link to a set? Looks like i have to buy each one on ebay and thats going to rack up a cost i rekon too much. How much you pay for the set of dampers for it?
@scowlsmcjowls2626 I had to get a replacement shaft and balancer, and it came with all the dampers which were in reasonable condition. Sorry, I do not have a link for dampers. Hope you get sorted
@InTheWorkshop thanks man i will have to get them somehow! Well i ell you its good to have multiple vinters insured so at least not off the road completly😁
Great video, I'm waiting for you to set the timing during reassembly so I can copy it👍🏻.
Loved cutting down the bolt to fit - proper bit of workshop engineering.
@robbieshields1563 cheers Robbie 🙂👍
