To me is the best Korn song, made it in the dark Life IS Peachy era, when the guys become famous and put a song in several soundtracks, too bad this song and Proud doesn't appears in the LiP final mix.
I believe it was recorded around the time of the first album or shortly after. I know it was on one of the Shoots and Ladders single releases. There's also footage of them playing it around 95. Just the way the drums and the bass are mixed on the studio release screams first album more. There was a tighter closer drum sound on Life Is Peachy, with that piccolo snare right in front. Korn was always recording extra stuff, in case a movie wanted an exclusive song for their soundtracks, or the Japanese market wanted an extra song. They'd just hand them something they already finished. I would love if Korn re-released their albums for big anniversary dates with extra material. I guess at this point it will be the 30th for the first before they'd do anything. I don't know what rights they have to their old recordings, because of how much they've jumped labels. They've got the rights to the songs, but probably not the recordings.
Holy shit I saw them in 94 in Binhamton, N.Y. and Tulsa in 95 and they played Sean Olson. I can't believe this footage exits! When they toured their first album. They hit a lot of small towns and to be there in audiences was like rapture. I saw them again on the sick n twisted tour in OKC, an arena show with plenty of floor for real pits and there always were multiple pits going. I'm 41 and I still mosh. None of that windmill shit.
@KoRnL0VeR Yeah, I have duece on vhs, then I was happy they added it to their dvd. When Ross told him to go back to when that shit happened, and Jon fucking destroyed the mic singing. It was tearjerking
I’m so glad this footage exist. I saw them a few months later after this was filmed in Houston (November ‘96). They did not play this song at the show I went to unfortunately.
korn were better before but you cant say they are shit now they are different but still good and you can see how jonathan davis is still great by his performances with that SFA band
Trust me, When the band has to get Ross back to produce their new cd to sound like their old selves, That clearly shows even THEY dont like their new stuff.
@UncleJesus - I read an interview with Jon in which he spoke about Korn 3 and working with Ross. Long story short, Jon mentioned it was a terrible experience due to Ross trying to force him to relive old issues that Jon had since buried and moved on from. Basically, Ross was trying to force Jon to write music about issues going back 20 some odd years ago like it was the self-titled and LIP days e.g. write music about your 20's and not like you're a 40+ year old man . Jon didn't like this, and coupled with the emotional trauma that Ross put him through for Korn3, Jon will probably never work with Ross again. The link below is not the original story I am speaking about, but it is from Ross speaking about Korn3 and forcing the band to be like it was the sequel to LIP. www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/korn_producer_ross_robinson_the_biggest_mistake_i_made_on_the_korn_iii_album.html
