"According to Zarzaur, Dr. Shaknovsky was involved in a wrong-site surgery in the past few years also at Sacred Heart. He was sued because during that surgery he allegedly misidentified the pancreas as the adrenal gland." This is from an article describing this case. The doctor was obviously incompetent yet they kept him on. They're considering pursuing criminal charges. This is just horrible all the way around.
Wow in Cleveland everyone who is in contact with you while you are in the hospital ask over and over again and mark you and do everything they can to ensure the correct organ or part of your body is being addressed - what hospital did he go to?
@tamiyacozart7389 See this is why they shouldn't make doctors and surgeons work for days at a time with little to no sleep. How can you expect a person to perform a high pressure job if they are sleep deprived? It's so wrong. The lack of accountability is mind blowing.
It's why now surgical nurses use magic markers and write "This leg" and on the other leg "Not this leg" on the legs ... if that's what's being cut off.
Wife wants to have the right ppl held accountable. I'd want to own the hospital. I even know the diff between a spleen & a liver. Was he drunk? Was there no one else in the room that knew what he was supposed to do? Or were they afraid to speak up? You can't take a liver out without putting a transplant back in. I agree, EVERYONE should be sued, and anyone else that was in that room, fired & criminally charged.
It’s amazing how many people think the operating room is a democracy. It’s not - it’s a full-on dictatorship. The surgeon is in charge. Some of those in the OR aren’t even scrubbed in, and everyone is paying attention to their own specific duties.
And what about the OR nurses ,they didn't say anything to him. HE JUST NEEDS TO TEAR UP HIS LICENSE, HE'S DONE!!!!!!! DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF THIS GENTLEMAN. MAY THE LORD PUT HIS ARMS AROUND HIS FAMILY DURING THIS VERY SAD TIME❤❤❤ DAY 🙏🙏🙏
Theres a huge difference between a liver and a spleen. Either the surgeon was high during the sugery or he did it on purpose to try and sell the liver to the highest bidder.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I would be asking about the other OR staff who pkg anything going for pathology. None of them were able to see the difference. Bless you
My prostate was illegally taken too during a surgery by Grandview hospital Inverness then I got anemic right away and they messed up a blood transfusion too a blood donation center found in Huntsville Al after i was threatened over a storage unit and assaulted twice since 2020. With a black man surgeon after black man caused organ damage with a big piece of wood to my intestines and groin area. In 2021.
That’s terrible. I really hope that doctor goes to prison
Im without words. Im so sorry for this family 😢
That doctor shouldn't be able to touch any one again he is dangerous.

Is this story even true? How can any medical facility accidentally remove a patient's liver?
It’s true. I work at a hospital. These doctors and surgeons are not as put together as you think.
@@tamiyacozart7389 I am a retired RN, and I know what you're saying, but this is just horrifying.

I'll note not to ever go to that hospital in case I need medical attention.
New fear unlocked

WTF are you even saying? And I have no idea what you think race has to do with it. And that wasn't a question. I'm not asking.
The surgeon here was a white man. Not that any of that matters.
