I am seriously in awe at the quality of life changes introduced in this game (as someone who started in gen 1 and whose last game was in gen 3). Today I had a string of luck where I was able to, in under 15 minutes:
1. Catch Gigantamax Butterfree;
2. Use those Exp. Candies (5 M, 1 L) to level Koffing into Weezing from lvl. 28 to lvl. 37; and then
3. Go back to the 5th gym and finish the first trainer battle.
I can only imagine how long that would've taken me in the previous Pokemon games I had played.

Edit: I did & caught a Raid Charizard today (non-gmax)! but the raid was outside of Hammerlocke! We're still compiling data on how the dens work. lol

I mean, considering he had already beat the game and this is all post-game, it's not a huge deal. It's just a time saver.
Yeah, I can catch a low level pokemon and have it ready to join my team instantly. I almost miss the the first 50 or so levels of grinding. The last 50, not so much.
Idk how it’s broken, it takes time to complete the game. What happens in post game stays in post game
While all the replies I got are true, I think the fact you can do this for virtually any Pokémon you want is kind of broken for those looking to get into competitive and for those who find a way to do this or something similar sooner than post game.
It being broken does not mean it's bad tho as many people can see the brokenness as a positive.

Hate the charizard pandering from game freak, but am completely fine with the Pokemon itself, and the gigantamax form is insanely cool. Kinda ticks me off when people say they hate charizard cos it’s overrated. That’s got nothing to do with the Pokemon at all, just the fan base, and how can you blame charizard for being overrated, it’s a really cool, simple Pokemon.

Yeah, that's a little ass, but you can alter their natures with Mints and exploit the in-game clock to reset any given Den until you get it to spawn Shiny.

TBF, you don't _Need_ to use the candies to level up your mons. You can also sell them for easy money.

Lost Soul i cleared all the raids available in between every couple gym battles and i think i found the ditto raid around level 30 or so. It’ll be one of those red light ones and the greyed out picture of it will be shining.
theres a lake spot near the second wild area where he has a high chance to spawn i gotten 2
The lake of outrage they have a higher spawn chance there
You can get charmander pretty early on in the game by getting 3,000 watts, then go to hammerlocke hills, put the wishing piece in (text speed normal,autosave off, get a purple beam, if it’s not a charmander, do the date skip until you get the lizard).

Do we need to catch the gigantamax and we can not just breed a little Pokémon to then just gigantamax???
The Gigantamax raids have a special form. Otherwise charizard is just bigger.
Only certain pokemon can gigantiamax. So for example, you cant just gigantamax a random pikachu you just caught, only the one that you get as a gift can gigantiamax

Tho, most raid pokemon have almost perfect set of ivs so should be no problem, just no egg moves thats all

I got the "Gigantamix" cooking ingredient from defeating one of the event gigantimax pokemon corvanight I was wondering if there was any infor on how this works and does it imbue the gigantimax trait on the fed pokemon? serebii say you only need to mix it with 10 assorted berries to make the camp food

You say broken? I find these candies amazing! They help to cut down all the time to get a Pokemon to level 100, which also enables Bottle Caps.
It is great that we basically do not need to breed anymore for stats, since the nature changing mints and hyper training skips this process.

Super effective hits, high attack stats and high levels
Mostly play with other people, the npcs are awful and what you get are random. Plus, they limit how much damage you can do based on what phase (shields) and stars it is.

There’s no way that gamefreak can make a new charizard form more cooler and powerful than Gmax charizard.

I got the g max wildfire charizard from that den that you showed. It is extremely rare as you probably already know. All you have to do is get the purple light and keep reseting the game intil you get it. It took me around 28 min

I just thought about it, and no way in hell would I want a Pokemon game where you can rotate the view throughout the entire game. I would just be constantly rotating the camera around looking for pokemon and items all the time. Linear works very well.
You should save before you put the wishing piece in the den and keep resetting until the G max Charizard shows up. I think that works but I haven’t tried it yet lol
I caught a Charmeleon from a Hammerlocke Hills den yesterday. So you can confirm right there Lake of Rage is not the only place you find it.
The lake of outrage is the best place to find rare Pokémon for me. Found Vaporeon, Glaceon, and Drakloak
I went into Leon’s room after catching zamazenta and saw the poke ball and got charmander yesterday evening and I wake up today and you’ve posted a video about it, your really on it with these sword and shield videos keep it up

The way raid battles work is it decides between a "common" table and a "rare" table each table has a different den id ex den 64 then it picks among the table of polemon. Seribii has a list of what dens are in a certain area and what tables each den has

Can confirm you can catch a charmeleon but at a different den, I don't have the upgraded bike yet to get across the lake but one of my dens had the extra bright and pink light coming from it and sure enough when I went in it was a charmeleon.

The 5 star max raids don’t unlock until you have all 8 badges. Second Charizard is only a 5 star raid. That would have been nice to know before spending hours spamming this den.

You will find it in the den NEXT to the one in your video. There are 2 dens in that area. I found it with out spending any watts. Not post game btw

I just got the Gigantamax Charizard from the den last night. I caught it but my friend didn’t. Make sure to do it at night and use a disk ball. 100% catch rate so far for all of my max raid battles.
I'm never the one to check out houses and upper rooms, especially not after I beat a game.
But I was so proud of myself cause I found the Charmander without looking it up and it felt amazing
Hey everyone the den that spawns Charmander is the one directly south of the steps to Hammerlocke. I was on my way there after defeating the third gym and I saw a purple beam so I went and checked it out and it had a 2 star Charmander in it. So yeah I got a level 27 Charmander on my team now with 5 gyms to go.

Just to let people know. It is possible to get chamander, charmeleon, or gmax charizard from that raid den. It is just a rare max raid
This game feels incomplete since the introduce d - max but there is only a few of them . I thought galarian ponyta would be in both games but we get two different evolution lines of g- max rapidash with wings
