  • Getting knifed in CS:GO is a pretty rare thing. So last weekend, when one player got knifed not once, not twice - but five times during the ReadyUp Invitational, many began to get suspicious.
With $100,000 on the line, there have been accusations that two opposing players, Gale Adelade and Kephrii, were actually teaming up to get their hands on the prize pool.
FACEIT has made a ruling on all this - but it’s not one we saw coming. Let’s dive in.

Lol It’s also pompous of the entire community to accuse him of cheating with zero awareness for who he is. These streamers make ridiculous amounts of money if they are popular, why does he need to cheat in a CSGO tournament for $25k? It’s a valid argument. With that said, he 100% cheated. The clip on Mirage sold it. There is no way someone with deductive reasoning capable of being in the FBI can genuinely fight someone in palace, spot tetris, and then try to run off site with his back turned to where he KNOWS an enemy is. You can’t claim to be intelligent and then make a play like that under the guise of (im just bad). It’s too obvious and any one who is actually smart and plays FPS games for a living would never turn their back to a location where they spotted an enemy.

Kephrii is self admitted to being a former Global Elite player before he moved to Overwatch, and as someone that is in a similar boat... You don't just lose game sense especially when you play other Competitive shooters to the top level.
Individuals went through the footage themselves to find if Faceit's and Heaven Media's findings were accurate. Most of the situations where he was knifed were around B, and he was deliberately ignoring Apartments allowing Gale to knife him. Comparing that game to a previous game on the same map from the previous day, Kephrii isnt against Gale and is playing B where he isn't being deliberate to ignore Apartments.
I 100% believe this was a planned knife reed for Gale. They're good friends, they duo Overwatch a lot and are friends outside this. And if you know of Kephrii's history in Overwatch in the slightest... You'd easily come to the same conclusion.

He walks backwards into palace, shoots at an enemy, retreats then turns his back to that enemy’s position, pulls out his knife and starts to walk away is an absolute blatant throw. Then should make it so all players highlights (knife, zeus and style moves) are viewed and then given the best player extra cash. I don't blame them for not thinking of every scenario but I just hope they do it again as this is a cool idea but improve on their short comings and fix them.

I watched some of the clips and they have patterns consistant with their overwatch mains for example the runn across at 7:37 is very consistant with both the hiding and maneuvering strats of both widowmaker and hanzo that they play. hanzo's tend to dance from cover to cover alot and widowmaker players like to hide in corners and barely visable places like they do through so much of the match.
