this song is so cute and oriental. as an oriental myself, i will not be bored hearing this tune over and over again. also i'm vice city player myself too. lolz!
I love this song. Aneka's only real hit and it's fantastic! Who'd have thought that a folk singer from Scotland would have such a huge pop hit. Mary Sandeman... you made a classic 80's no.1 !
She was the first girl I desperately fell in love for...with 7! Loved you Aneka!!! The 80's had such a rich variety of styles and originals - today you have only copies and clones...
Oh my God I remember this being at no.1! Aneka's back in Scotland now trying to remain anonymous and sticking to country/folk music. Classic 80's pop! Brilliantly bad! :-)
Wow, I was busy driving like a lunatic in a stolen car almost about to burst into flames avoiding cops with five stars with this blaring out of the stereo - yeah, it was Vice City. I just had to check out the video for such an odd song. Cheers for uploading!
OMG one of the great song of my childhood (I was born in 1968 and was a kid in the 80's :-)) and it remember to me nice souvenirs of this happy childhood Big thanks for this share !!! :-) Bruno from France
Wow! Love it! You know i was about 5 or 6 when this song was in heavy air play & i liked it,to hear it again after all these years the voice does seem a little odd,but this was the age when disco was ending & the spacey voice in a sense made it more competitive with the upstart new wave, punk & goth scene which were just as experimental in their beginings with different vocal styles & eery descending hooks.
After latest readings, the Japanese girl group "Shanadoo" will probably make a song, using elements - or also the basic musical structure "pimped-up" with modern sound. first performing is 28.07.
My GTA IV game froze so I thought I would play Vice City again after 4 years. I love it more than ever now, especially the incredible 80's music. Gotta love bombing it down Miami Beach with the palm trees and hot women in Bikinis while listening to great 80's music with 10 cop cars chasing you!
"Aneka" was asked to appear on a tv program recreating her 80's hit and she refused as she wished to leave all that behind her-also she appeared on an Irish language music program "Ceol Tire" (COUNTRY MUSIC)singing country/folk songs-take a chill pill-no need for the attitude! Jees
I didn't hear this song back in the 1980s (though I was around back then, just didn't listen to the music as much as I do now)... first heard this song in GTA: Vice City and always paused it for the song... only other things I listened to really were the chat stations in the game
He said that he loved me, never would go Now I find I'm sitting here on my own Was it something I said or done That made him pack his bags up and run Could it be another he's found It's breaking up a happy home
dont knoww hy i just got a diffrent feeling about the music from the 80's , i mean i feel it difrent than the other styles - theres somthing special in it !
@luckystar1982; came out in '81. IMHO, that's a typical 1980s "Eurodisco" song of the style that would dominate European (including British) charts throughout the 1980s. On the other hand, that type of music was never popular in the US at the time... so maybe you're American, or just too young to remember it first time round. :)

aw that's so thweet aneka i miss you too
