This song came on the radio as I was driving home this evening, and brought back a memory of the most significant day of my life. Besides today, the last time I heard this song was in the afternoon of May 11, 1987. How can I be so precise? That was the day my childhood dream, to become an Airline Pilot came true. I had just completed my final interview with Continental Airlines and was offered the job. As I got in my car and started driving home I turned on radio and this song had just begun playing, and I was singing it loudly. That was the beginning of my 34 year career with Continental/United, which ended last year, when I turned 65, the FAA's mandatory retirement age.
I first heard this song when I was walking down the main street in Olongapo City , Philippines. It was blaring out the doorway of one of the many bars in that town. The following year, I was a civilian again, and hired into aircraft maintenance with Continental at Newark.
This was my dad’s last song. He loved music, he loved singing and dancing. The day before he died was a surprising “good day”, he wasn’t in pain or tired, he was laughing and telling jokes like he used to… and was singing this song by heart with my brother. It’s hard listening to it but this is probably now the most important song in the world to me now. Miss you, dad.
i have never heard this song but my mom knows and lost her dad in 2017 i was just in elementary and my grandpa was enjoying a good life until his body started failing i remember seeing my grandpa lying on the couch and seeing my mom on the day crying after coming home from work and visiting the hospital i saw my mom being comforted by my dad and my mom told me the bad news i didn't know alot about him but je used to drive me from my mom's house to our house i always remembered him waving bye to me before i got on the bus and remember going to school and happy but my teacher heard i remember the day my mom went we were just at the mall and my mom going to my grandfathers funeral this song is really upbeat and hope anybody who misses a family member they lost should never be forgotten i hope all of those should be proud to have memories of them if you liked this song please comment below
He absolutely danced around the fact that this is 100% not the singer. It said that on pop up video years ago. Also if you listen to the accent, it's clearly a romantic language accent and not Gaelic.

I loved this song back in the day. My 13 year old nephew and I were driving the other day and he found this song via his apple phone and wondered if I knew it. It brought back so many happy moments. It also created another one as we both started sing the song as I drove. We even did a double take and laughed. Another great memory created for both of us from a song that is over 35 years old. Thanks Baltimora

Por supuesto (My Spanish is barely okay to read:: you’ll need another 23 years to get it all (I’m 39, and from Baltimore, Maryland, USA, and nobody knows why this title still rocks)
Sometimes we enjoy songs for what they represent in our lives. I remember this from around 1989. I think I was 24-25 then, in top shape. On New Years, I went to a popular club down in Virginia Beach, I forget the name of it, doesn't matter, it probably doesn't exist anymore. I remember girls buying me drinks while I was there, had the time of my life. This song was playing... Sometimes I wish I could go back, some moments in life are gold, and they can't be repeated. I wish 1000 times over they could go on,,,
It was a totally different head back then (quoting an 80's expression there...), those of us who where there that time were fortunate to experience that magical moment of life... Aye, those were the best of times... The 80's rocked!
Our music generally sucked. The only reason I can even listen to this song is it was wired into my head a teenager. 1940s music is better than 80s music. 70s is the best of the last 5 decades, IMHO.
@@Gezvlogs The same 40 or 50 songs out of an entire decade that are so played to death I can't stand hearing them. Popular music started to really consolidate in the very early 80s. It all starts to sound alike with only the occasional standout.
Here because of Todd in the Shadows! Great video, interesting backstory, tragic end for the frontman Jimmy McShane. HIV took so many in the queer community, too many gone too soon.
My dad past during Covid. He would always sing the hook to this song. I had a dream today, searching for him but couldn’t find him. In this dream. When I woke up this song kept playing in my head.I haven’t heard it in decades! I knew it was a message from him. Thank you dad, love you. 🥲
@@HighVybeTribe I think this song was in Beverly Hills Ninja, Chris Farley was a ninja XD, he was swinging on a palm tree and this song was playing, shit was so hilarious. XDDDD
@@HighVybeTribe Beverly Hills Ninja is correct. It's also in TMNT 3. The Honor Guards who are taken to present day NYC are dancing in the club when Casey Jones takes them out.
The eighties had its moments, including this OHW from Baltimore! But the decade that'll NEVER be equalled let alone beaten is the magical sixties, the very hub of the Golden Era!😊
Took me 21 months of research. Couldn’t find this song if my life depended on it. After typing in so many different “Ooohh” and “Ahh” I finally gave up. I Started a family , I moved out my parents and one night I was watching Beverly Hills Ninja on Netflix with my son and pregnant wife when this song came on. I did what any normal man would of done. I cried. I sat there and cried. I immediately looked up Beverly Hills ninja soundtrack and this beautiful song was the only one that made sense. I am here now.
Yeah if u don't remember the lyrics but the easy part is not ooooh ah oooh aaahh, it's tarzan boy but i forgot the artist and just at writing moment I thought of tarzan boy don't know why and it popped up. Never think i ever saw the MV for this just heard it on radio when i was young back then in the 80's there was no internet and it was really hard to remember any song unless u bought the cd or recorded the songs from a god damn cassette player...
Yesterday this song came up on the radio, I turned the volume up and was singing it on the top of my lungs. Im only 21 but I love 80s music and cars, the sweet little Peugeot 206+ from 2009 of my mom always gives me a bit retro feeling, as he has only two small displays and non-electric backdoor windows. Sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong time.
Nothing hits your nostalgia like bricks when a certain song comes on during a movie you aren't sure you've seen. Thanks, Beverly Hills Ninja! And RIP Chris Farley. This one's going in the playlist for sure.
My dad use to blast this song, one of many, during my bathtime as a small boy. I sure do miss him. This song triggers something to make the memories come flooding back. Thank you for that, Baltimora.

These "simple" 80's songs and the artists that performed them have one thing in common imo, their innocence, cause they didn't know they were creating such an amazing legacy, leaving all this treasure to us all

I wish 1000 times over they could go on,,,
Thanks for your service
It was a totally different head back then (quoting an 80's expression there...), those of us who where there that time were fortunate to experience that magical moment of life... Aye, those were the best of times... The 80's rocked!
odiemodie1 Maybe, just maybe, it was your youth that rocked? and not an arbitrary date of time?

The trouble of growing up in the 80’s.... we didn’t know how great it was till it was gone

I wish I lived a day in the 80s in America
Our music generally sucked. The only reason I can even listen to this song is it was wired into my head a teenager. 1940s music is better than 80s music. 70s is the best of the last 5 decades, IMHO.
@@tarstarkusz 80s music is special...DJ's replay so many of the 80s Classics which fill the dance floors with happy people of all ages 😎

I remember I just googled "ohhhh ohhhh song lyrics" and this showed up. Not lying
These days you can just hum a song onto google there is a mike next to search bar, it searches ur song
