Hook was and still is one of my favorites . I’m a 30 year old man who never used to cry much... Your music has become a weekly indulgence where I can let it all go and shed a few tears, be it happiness, sadness, anger, fear or whatever. You’ve touched the hearts of a lot of people Nick... Thank you!
This is just... WOW... The part where the girl starts singing is UNREAL. You've captured the magic this movie possesses Pogo. Robin Williams smiles down whenever someone plays this song. R.I.P. Robin. We love and respect and miss you and all that you stood/stand for.
What I love about Pogo some 8 year after he first made this is how complex his bass lines and compositions are. They remind me of the Japanese Nintendo game composers, very impressive and still so relevant.
I have been listening to this track for years now, and the fact that I'm listening to it after Hook hit its 30th just makes it feel that much more magical. Thank you, Pogo--I love your work!
this resonates so powerfully now that we have lost Bob Hoskins and Robin Williams in the same year. Dante Basco was just in Austin with me and Jimmy Madio for the 25th anniversary screening of Hook. complete with fave scene subtitles and inflatable swords and bubbles for audience participation. Hope I get to meet you someday Pogo and thank you in person. Robin was and is all of those wonderful things we love about him and always will. Bob too.
I could barely watch Hook last night, and watching this brought tears to my eyes. Robin Williams played a huge role in my family's film collection and joyful memories. I bonded with my dad watching Good Morning Vietnam. My siblings and I loved playing Jumangi and making a mess in our home, only to blame a lion and some wild plants. Flubber made a scientist for all of a day, but it was the best day ever. Mrs. Doubtfire made our family laugh and made my parents divorce a little easier for my siblings, though my brother kept thinking our dad would dress as an older British woman. Robin Williams was too good for us. I hope that his spirit finds the peace he so richly deserves.
Peter pan and hook always hold a special place in my childhood, and this song perfectly captures that feeling I had when watching it when I was younger
This film taught me the most valuable lesson in the world, something that I will keep forever, for the rest of my life No matter if I grow up, no matter how many difficulties, being an adult is not an excuse to let myself be happy and that our inner child still lives.
Hook was one of my ultimate favourite films as a kid. It was taped on a vhs and I had to skip the commercials everytime they came on. I’ve loved this song ever since I first heard it 9 years ago. It has all the feelings I have for this movie in a format that doesn’t require a fast forward every 10 minutes Thank you pogo, I don’t know where I’d be without some of your songs. They return me to forgotten nostalgic memories and to places I wish to be.
I just watched Hook for the upteenth time with my kiddos. When Maggie sings, that is the most beautiful and touching part of all. I am so glad you included it in your mix! And thank you for sprinkling music magic with us when you were doing the children’s movie mixes. I will always enjoy them ❤️
Hook was one of my favorite movies as a kid. All the practical effects and sets still amaze me to this day. Yes a lot of it is dated, but for a movie made in 91? Yeah, this still blows me away.
Robin Williams has spread so much light and made this world a better place to live. You are my child hood icon. The movie hook liltarly changed my life, thank you for making it the most magical film Rest in Peace Robin Willaims~ #bangarang #stevenspeilburg
***** This was the first one of yours I watched, so there's a bit of nostalgia ... plus I've been editing the Peter Pan wiki, and what better to listen to while doing so?
Because you are one of the few remaining who can still be truly moved by music/Pogo is one artist who knows how to make music moving. Don't worry when I listen to this and watch the video I can't help but sit here with a small grin and moist eyes. It's so amazingly done, the tunes, the video, all of it. He takes something that you grew up loving and thought was perfect, only to make it better. The music standing alone is enough to incite a response, but having made it from samples of stuff we grew up on the nostalgia is immense and brings back every emotion you had watching the movie for the first time. The laughs, the anger, the honest fear that we now feel silly for having had; all of it in one package.
this song is so symbolic of robbin williams. towards the end i hear the words as always, i interpret them as "i had the people, i love people, ha!" and you see pirates and lost boys laughing, smiling, dancing.. the effect he had on us. and in the end, you see a fairy flying an infant peter pan out the window, to neverland.. where robin went, and who took him, an angel. R.I.P Robin
this was my first Pogo song i accidentally discovered and it makes me smile to remember how excited i was to find such upbeat music celebrating my childhood movies.
Robin Williams… Rest In Peace… You were considered my ALL-TIME favorite actors… Goodbye. :'( Hook will forever always be my #1 favorite movie from the one and only Robin Williams. He is my part of my childhood while growing up and his such fantastic movies he made :)
Today's date is 8/11/24. It has officially been 10 years since the passing of Robin Williams. I've come back to this song at least once a year every year since it was released and many more since Robin passed. He will forever hold a precious space in my heart, and this song a special place in my mind.
The four notes at 2:43 are also the theme from Home Alone (which is also John Williams). The first interval, so-mi, is the same interval that is the basis of the Flight to Neverland tune.
In my opinion, this is one of your greatest mixes. Each part of the song flows well together and not once was I off-put by a part of this tune. I found that even my least favorite parts of this song felt natural and weren't really forced in. This has to be one of my favorite songs to listen to.
That thumbnail was like us 90's kid's being held by robin as I used to watch so many of his film's. I alway's loved his work, he made you happy which is so important. Thank's robin for jumanji mrs doubtfire and popeye etc you made my childhood and Jim Carrey. 🙏
Hook is my #1 favourite (Child-Hood) Movie from my #1 favourite Actor... Robin Williams :D I love this Movie SOOO much that some parts make me teary-eyed :') So tonight I wanted to remember Robin Williams... So I watched Hook for the millionth time on Netflix because today, August 11th, marks the 1 Year Anniversary since he died :'( Then after I watched the Movie, I played the Song "Bangarang" by the most awesomest Peep ever... Pogo because this Song will forever always remind me of Robin Williams. R.I.P. Robin Williams. July 21st, 1951 to August 11th, 2014

Eight years later after I first discovered this song. And I still come here to watch and listen. Thanks, Pogo, both for keeping your old work up here, but also for following your passion and letting us all enjoy it as we come along for the ride.
This one is for you Robin Williams! Thanks for all the years of comical joy and laughter! I'm probably not gonna be able to listen to this song without it reminding us of Robin Williams. We must cherish the times when he was on Earth and remember how he would make us laugh despite any and all personal turmoils he had. Let us be happy in the knowledge that he is in a better place and that he no longer suffers from his turmoils. He made us laugh on Earth for a long time, now he makes the angels laugh in Heaven. My first Pogo video I ever saw, when the kick drum came in when Smee kicked the floor, I was hooked instantly. 1:08 was close to my reaction.Thank you Nick 👊🏻
This is my favorite piece of yours. Each sound feels as if they were destined to fit together perfectly. This melody is so relaxing to me, and every time I hear it, I am filled with so much joy. This piece is so whimsical that when the chorus starts at 0:45, I can't help but sway along with the music, just as in the video the characters do flips and twirl around in feelings of joy. You have truly done Robin a justice by capturing his element of whimsicality and quirkiness. Keep on making art, Pogo.
This piece came to mind after finding out that Robin Williams died. Just really airy and dreamlike- which is how I would prefer my thoughts be for a man that was a big part of my childhood. Thanks for this, Pogo. It was an amazing song when I first heard it, and now it means something else to me.
Watching this movie in the theater brought my divorced parents back together. Thank you Robin Williams and Bob Hoskins for the joy you gave to my childhood.
One of my favorite movies of all time! It made me cry as a child, and makes me cry now! You can The the absolute kindness in Robin Williams' eyes, and I'll always have his movies to show my children. I'll tell them how this man made my childhood magical in a way no one else could. RIP Robin Williams. I'm sure you're making God and all the children laugh in Heaven:)
My first Pogo song was "Alice", so many many years ago. Right now I'm listening to this childhood-classic remix as a prep for making my own King of the Hill turned Forgot About Dre creation. Thanks for the inspirations, mate!
Smee did indeed do something intelligent!
Brilliant! Haha ;)
Love this movie!
Guess Hook picked the right man for that job.

Nostalgia is pretty intoxicating
I don't cry much either...but I always cry when I watch Hook. One of my all time favorites
Hope you're still coming back
You're 35 now! You're closer to the grave than me:(
Rest in peace Bob Hoskins, And Robin Williams. I'll see you two in NeverLand.

Hook: Smee, do something intelligent!
Smee: *Does this remix*

E. Chadwick from 0:45 to 0:54 he never touches the freakin ground

That Captain Hook "You!" might be the best accusation in film history.
Dustin Hoffman is a top notch actor, I used to love watching Dick Tracy when I was younger and his "Mumbles" character was hilarious.

Every song has a complex baseline and unique instruments that are simply incredible!
5 years later and his music (old and new) is still as magical and encapsulating.
This song just brings you the most magical nostalgic feeling.
Most intelligent thing Smee has ever done :)
This Pogomix is amazing. It truly shows how amazing Robin Williams was. Every time I listen to this, I miss Robin Williams. God bless that man.
I have been listening to this track for years now, and the fact that I'm listening to it after Hook hit its 30th just makes it feel that much more magical. Thank you, Pogo--I love your work!

She looked amazing. Should see Angela Lansbury when she was young and looked it. Wow.
Claire Lucey Lol. No. She was in heavy makeup. She was only in her 50s in Hook.
She has aged fairly well I would say, I always get goosebumps when she stands at the top of the stairs and says "Peter" to Robbin Williams.
