Hi Pawel. The problem you’ve got is that Arai have got a reputation for making really high quality helmets and because of that, other manufacturers can often feel cheap in comparison. You have to judge each helmet in relation to what it costs. I think you’ll find that both the Airoh and the Nexx will feel similar in quality because they are both made to a similar budget. There is a possibility that the internal shape of the Nexx is more comfortable for you but I would recommend getting the Tour X5. Yes, they aren’t cheap but with you having had an Arai, you know the quality you’re going to get with it. Thank you for watching our video and thanks for leaving me a comment 👍

Hi RnineT adventures. It sounds like there may be a manufacturing fault with your helmet. The internal visor should slide smoothly, up and down and with minimal effort. The fact that the lens falls out also makes me think that there may be a fault. I would suggest taking it back to where ever you bought it from so that they can inspect it and if faulty, replace it. Good review, I’ve the BMW version. Thinking it’s the 1.5 model as some of the mk2 specs are on my helmet. Cardo install was easy; albeit the cable hole was a very tight fit for the phono cable. The lid is very light & comfy, just as good as my last Shoei (GT air) & the same fit for my shape head.
Hi Steve. I’ve had a close look at the BMW version and it is clearly manufactured by Airoh. From what I’ve seen there do seem to be some minor differences between the Commander 2 and the BMW helmet. Unfortunatly, I am a person who maybe will order this helmet without trying it (I know my size) So 2 questions. 1. How quiet is it while riding at high speed (from 1 to 10 where 1 is noisy and 10 is very quite) 2. Does SENA50 can be installed on this helmet ? (I have LS2 MX436 helmet and I wanna change it because It is impossible to install SENA on it) Thank you and sorry my english =)
Hi GertAbyss. I find that all the Duel Sports helmets are loud in comparison to road orientated full face helmets. The main cause of this is because of the visor shape and peaks. In comparison to other duel sport helmets I would say that it is really quiet. The visor mechanism is very flush to the helmet, it has a strong composite shell and plenty of EPS and soft lining, which all helps to keep the wind noise to a minimum. I've looked at the Sena 50s / 50r and it's hard to say if it would fit using the clip base but I'm sure it will fit easily with an adhesive base. We have had quite a few customers set up their Cardo Packtalks on the Airoh Commander helmets and they have had no trouble with the adhesive base. I hope this is enough information for you and that you like the helmet when you get it. Thank you for watching our video and thanks for leaving me a comment 👍
Hi Ian. It hasn't been design specifically to work with spectacles, like what AGV did with the new K3 helmets. I think it would come down to the type of spectacles and how the helmet fits you, as to whether it could be worn with them. The best thing to do is to try one on first and see if it is comfortable for you. Thank you for watching my video and thanks for leaving me a comment 👍
IMHO, I don't think it would be that good. I'd say it is designed more for oval shaped ones. I'm saying this as my head is oval shaped: I bought the Next Wed first, it was too round for me. Replaced with the Airoh Commander and it fits way better, perfectly actually, on my head. I'd say, give the Nexx a try.
Hi Jacob. It is more of an oval shaped fit, similar to what Arai call a European fit. I would say that it is possibly even narrower across the temples than what Arai's European fit is though. Thank you for watching my video and thanks for leaving me a comment 👍
Hi Al Harris. There is a slight gap between the cheek pad and the skull cap, roughly in the position where a spectacle arm would go. But there is nothing specifically done with the construction to make it more comfortable for spectacle users, unlike what AGV have done with their K3 helmet. I hope this helps? The slider for the flip down visor is the same as the commander two, as is the new top vent. The one difference that I can see, which is very peculiar, is the anchor point on the GS Pure is in the same position as it was on the original Commander. where as the Commander 2 has it located further forward. I hope this has helped, thank you for watching our video and thanks for leaving me a comment 👍
Hi Neilblowers. To be honest, if you look at the original reason for having peaks, it came from motocross and being able to dip your head to protect you goggles from being covered in mud by the rider in front. Having a peak on a duel sport helmet is pretty much pointless because to make it aero dynamic enough to work at speed, they are heavily vented and cut so short that they can barely be seen when your wearing them. In reality, the flip down internal visor is much more useful than the peak. People who buy duel sport helmets generally want the off road look of having a peak. Thank you for watching my video and thanks for leaving me a comment 👍
Hi Donut3110. They are doing a carbon version but because it is a new helmet, the none carbon/ graphic versions are produced first. I think the carbon one is due to be released around July/August. Thanks for watching our video and thanks for leaving me a comment 👍
Hi Abhi. I have had a look, but there doesn't seem to be any in the box. We have got some at our Manchester store if you are ever passing. I'll also mention it to Airoh that they need to include some stickers into the box. Thanks for watching our video and thanks for leaving me a comment 👍
Hi Cirkulace. The aerodynamics and the construction haven’t changed enough to make it any quieter than the previous model. If you ride an adventure bike and you are looking to make the helmet quieter, it is best to experiment with different bike screens and screen add on’s. They have a bigger effect by throwing the wind blast over the top of you. Thank you for watching my video and thanks for leaving me a comment 👍
You have not addressed the main issues of the Commander 1: 1. It is extremely narrow around the ears. You basically have to go one size up in comparison to other helmets. 2. the visor slammed shut so hard that you pretty much had to close it super carefully with your hand instead of just shutting it quickly like on other helmets. If slammed shut it would close so loudly that you would get Tinnitus. 3. Sun visor would regularly hit your nose. Overall not the best impression of quality. I guess at least the visor locking mechanism has changed, so that is a plus. Position of strap has changed, so another plus. But if the fit is the same, you still need to go one size up.
Hi TR850. The fit of a helmet isn't really something I can give an opinion on because the fit of a helmet is personal to each user. I can comment on the comfort that the soft lining gives you because that is more about the feel of the fabric and how soft the padding is, rather than it's fit. The visor does come down quite hard from the last notch to closed, the reason for that is because of the Dual Axis mechanism and how the springs pull the visor back onto the eye port seal. The internal sun visor is cable operated, so it should be smooth and easily set to the level that works best for you. I think they have done a few adjustments to an already great helmet. There are always going to be people who don't like it and that is fine, helmets are a very personal thing and getting one that is right for you is vital. That's one reason why there is so much variety to pick from. Thank you for watching our video and thanks for leaving us some of your thoughts on the Commander 2. All of our followers comments and points of view are welcome and together we make a better community of bikers. 👍
Hi User-xt. All adventure shaped helmets are pretty noisy because of the visor shape at the bottom front and the peak. To keep the noise to a minimum you need to have the visor fully closed and use it without a peak. Without taking wind noise into account, if you were stationary next to a bike with a loud exhaust, then the Airoh is as quiet as any other composite shell helmet. If you looking for a really quiet helmet then I’d suggest going for something like the Arai Quantic, with its road focused aerodynamics and thick eps / soft lining. Thank you for watching our video and thank you for leaving me a great comment 👍
Hi Jeremy. It hasn't got anything to suggest that it has been designed specifically with eye wear in mind, like AGV did with their K3 helmets. So I would say it would come down to how it fits you and what eye wear you have, whether it was comfortable enough to use together. If you do get one, we would love to hear your feedback on what it is like with glasses. Thank you for watching our video and thanks for leaving me a comment.
Hi Erayberktas. It works well over here and was faultless, even with all the rain we have. I'm sure you'll find it to be a good helmet. Thank you for watching our video and thanks for leaving me a comment. 👍
Hi skintsniper262. You would be surprised how many manufacturers are now using visor locking mechanisms. They play a big part in increasing the safety of a helmet if they are closed. Hi Abhi. I have had a look, but there doesn't seem to be any in the box. We have got some at our Manchester store if you are ever passing. I'll also mention it to Airoh that they need to include some stickers into the box. Thanks for watching our video and thanks for leaving me a comment 👍
Is the new Commander 2 quieter than the first generation?
@TR850 As I'm asian with round head, I really appreciate the fitting of Commander 2. It's much comfy and I don't have to go one size up.
is commander 2 noisy?
Hi, is this helmet ok with eyeglasses?
Thank you for watching our video and thanks for leaving me a comment.
if something work well in England weather it's definitely work in Turkey
Hi Erayberktas. It works well over here and was faultless, even with all the rain we have. I'm sure you'll find it to be a good helmet. Thank you for watching our video and thanks for leaving me a comment. 👍
I liked the helmet until you showed that it has a visor that locks shut. That a “no go” for me.
Hi skintsniper262. You would be surprised how many manufacturers are now using visor locking mechanisms. They play a big part in increasing the safety of a helmet if they are closed. Thank you for watching and thank you for sharing your thoughts in the comments. We always want to hear feedback on all of the products we sell. Thank you 👍
