Love how these videos makes fishing simple with simple baiting techniques and simple set ups , not like the other video on UA-cam always pointing people to buy the most expensive baits and set ups
2 carp vids in a row.. nice one chaps
I caught a 8 poung mirror carp on a size 20 hook and 4 pound line 😃
Great episode! :) Love old bury hill guys! Caught a 5.5 golden tench on bread flake there, on float, tight to the lillies, 50 yards from the boathouse at twilight, smashing! Mike, yr like my missus when she's woke early in the morning - trips over her tongue ("pass the keepnet!"), and gets the grumps! Ha ha! Only joking buddy, love the show chaps, only us barmy English could make something like this! Brilliant! Much love. M.E. x
lovely ghostie at the start, remember watching this when i knew hardly anything about carp and now coming back to it. It seems completely different. great vid :)
In the US our go to bait is sweet corn. Here in Rhode Island in the summer we are pestered by turtles and small catfish, so we switch to other baits, like nuts, etc. We have limited selections of companies that sell boilies or pellets so we have to improvise quite a bit! Some people do buy carp rods from europe or canada and some people use any old gear. Some people have adopted the hair rig and some people non carp rigs. Anyway, love your videos!
Top quality video lads love the tips keep them coming they are AWESOME
Its interesting to see that pineapple flavor boilies do good in the UK. Pineapple boilies are one of the best baits here in Canada!
Very well explained guys, your vids are getting better and better.
I am just a Yank from across the pond, but you guys absolutely rock and I love your work! I am from the no where state of West Virginia and I am sure you have never heard of it...expecting you to know about it is like expecting me to know about Exeter....what?
My favorite of favorite things I have learned from you is using boiled rice to bait and feed with and fish with maggots....I have caught so many fish that way, it is just ridiculous. Thank you and please do not sell out and start telling us to use this tackle, this location, this hotel, this guide....just be yourselves and I will be a life long fan!
Helix Etherean Not sure if I did Virginia (the State, not the lady) but I fished Delaware ,and down the Outer Banks.Catching Gray trout in the surf at dawn if I recall, and Red Drum off the Point at Hatteras. Happy days.(and better than Exeter !)
+TAFishing Hey! I'm a local to Exeter fishing, and although there's not the same fishing down here on the south, there have been some nice bass out of the estuary recently! Big fan of fly/freshwater and saltwater fishing so have seen every one of your videos at least a hundred times! 🙈 Look forward to your videos each week, and if you ever need a fishing partner in the south of Devon I would love to fish with you 👍 Tight lines Pullen boys!
Great video great fish and great tips cheers
brilliant video chaps very informative 👍
Some great fish there, nice lake too i've seen you fishing there in other videos. Thumbs up.
Good fishing guys! Great tips too! I’ve got a really good doughball recipe for you, of course you may have already tried it and maybe not.?? But I’ve caught loads of Carp ( as well as cats) off this dough, Carp of all sizes too! But you take wheaties ( wheat flakes) or bran flakes, canned sweet potatoes or yams, and wheat germ, you crush up the flakes then drain the juice off your sweet potatoes, mash up the potatoes and add to the crushed flakes, work all that up together until you get the right consistency dough that you want and then add the wheat germ at the end, the wheat germ acts as a attractant, the particals of the germ will float up off your dough bait when it’s in the water! But try this recipe for your British Carp and see if it works for you! Good Fishing!!!!
Awesome session! Quantity AND quality!!!
yet another excellent video 👍🐟
I had to subscribe big fan boys keep up the good work :)
Great fishing TA FISHING
some lovely carp great job
great video this helps me out allot thanks.
I love these videos
good video as always but when you said about putting the same amount of bait in the spomb each time so as not to effect the casting distance, couldnt you just put the line in the line clip on the reel so it wouldnt be able to go further then the distance you set it at any way
A carp that has a pale sheen to it, usually whitish but sometimes pale orange is a ghost carp, they can be mirrors or commons.
Either that or a silver carp
Nice fish guys
Yay, carp fishing!
im going fishing in 6 hours cant sleep first trip in 3 years !
How did you do?
Edwin Orf bit late mate 😂😂
Well..... how'd ya do haha. Been later for a lot of stuff in my life
Get that camp tea thing out and go all day. Nice show, nicer fish.
Love the new intro 😂
You should try and make more videos like this really enjoyed it
Looks a nice lake .
a bivi is a makeshift shelter to sleep the night in survival /army situations. traditional bivouacs in england are made of an A frame covered with ferns until watertight. nowadays its alot easier to use a sheet of tarp tied to a few tree's. although alot of the fun sleeping in a Bivouac is actually building it. and hunting rabits /birds to eat as well. theres actually a place in england somewhere you can do courses with 4 grades.
hope someone found this usefull :D
quality video guy.
keep up the good work.
really do miss carp fishing as all my tackle was robbed from home when I was on holiday.
cracking fish caught there guys. you should come up north and I'll show you where the 30s and 40s are.
tight lines.
where are all the 30s and 40s up north?
iam a northern lad and dont know many places where these size fish are living.
share your secret with me please😜
Some are on prince Albert Syndicate.
Some are a few secret places that only a hand full of people fish. There's many places just need to find them.
Great video of course, the army of carp fishermen out there will love it I'm sure. I've tried to imagine myself enjoying it but just can't something about it that puts me off, maybe all the fangled bits I don't know. Thanks guys.
David Harvey They don't need to be all high tech rigs. The basic hair rig/boilie combo still works well. All fishing has a following of "tech" stuff, some works for fish,a lot just works for the anglers. But the basic boilie/hair/bolt rig in its most basic form is still extremely effective.I'm not about to rush out and "bivvy up" with gear myself.I just adapt with whatever tackle I have(Sea reels used in this one by me) but I can see the actual terminal and bait rig works so I just lob that out.
TAFishing yes of course you're right. I still cannot find the slightest inkling to go try it. Always grateful for the hard work you guys put in for us always entertaining always informative and always fair in catering for us all. I really want to see the Greame Pullen low tech bite detector answer to those electronic thingamies though ;-).
David Harvey The ultimate early alarm was an old penny balanced on the lip of the reel spool, bale arm open, and a tin tray underneath.Fish takes line, penny gets pulled off, clatters in tin tray and angler strikes. Its absolutely true. Was all the rage in the 50's.Anyone about still remember it ??
Love your vids guys but I am with Graeme and prefer old style fishing with light rods and simple margin fishing. could you do a video of boilie, pva bag etc vs old school methods. Thanks keep it up!!!!
What a final fish great vid I'm a few years behind haha
Great video (y)
I found that out too, that mirror's seem to fight more than common! not an expert though could just be a coincidence!
You should clip up when using the spomb, its much more accurate and you dont have to worry about casting to far or to less, also try putting out a spread of boilies instead of pellet the bream will ignore it and the carp will move in
18:45 we'll what would you say to the new carp rods I'm buying? Would they be iron poles?
Does gudgeon work well as bait for pike
pause at 07:29 lol
Hahahah
i did ? what did i miss then
@@Baz7575 7:30
What would be the best carp bait for pva bag fishing
I see why you say how the commons tend to go sort of mad with feeding cos at one of my local fisheries, there is an even number of commons and mirrors but I tend to get 1 mirror once every 5 commons
teh Dan the rods and reels are sonic sks black edt and the reels are sonic black 6000 I have them myself unbelievable equipment
Just been on to burry hill site and it said strictly in night fishing did you have to book or have they changed the rules and not updated the website?
Have you guys ever used chunks of granola bars for bait instead of boilies?
what biat alarms are you using in this video and where can u get them
what make alarms do u use and are they any good?
A
Great vidio I just got into carp and normally catch 10-13 in local lakes on just a pop up but now i know how to snowman great help !
Graeme giving us the finger at 7.31
Hi guys, what reels are you using?
Great video guys, quick question, what is the actual rig called that keeps the boilees on? Is it just a snowman rig?
The standard rig to keep boilies on is a hair rig. The snowman is a variation that uses the pop up. hope that helps
What pound test line were you using? Did you use monofilament fluorocarbon or braid as your main line.
+Dylan Nacc 12lb mainline - monofillament
Hi from Texas 🤗
Hi there Texas...stay safe over there.
can you buy hats you wore at the start of the video
The Irish Fly Fisher Yes you can, totallyawesomefishing.spreadshirt.co.uk/
First fish may have been a ghost carp? just looking at the darker colours on the head. Another cracking video lads. Keep up the awesome word and maybe some trout will be appearing soon?
ben fox You must be reading our film schedule...I was out yesterday on a Hampshire Avon tributary with a 4-weight flyrod, had a blast with big trout. Both wild Browns and the occasional Rainbow.Editing it right now.Size 12 Goldhead Damsel,Tinhead G.R.Hare's Ear and a White chomper did the biz.
well i look forward to that video! Totally awesome!
+TAFishing the first carp was a cross between a ghost common and a normal common that is why it was the pale colour but the normal ghost commons are even more pale than that
I gotta ask. What camera are you using in the videos?
Cheers.
Zeus Aviary Sony.
What's rods did you use? Please reply
It’s a ghost carp mate good vid
Graeme, what wat the brand/model of the bivvy you showed in the video? Looking to buy one & trust sonething that you would use yourself. Also good to see you & mike doing a video together!
Mark Britton Mike bought it new for £50 at a trade Show . Seems to do the job well enough and a bearable price. If you mail him on our Totally Awesome site he may be able to tell you the make.
Had a look on your web page but couldn't see anything, just the line/clothing range in the shop section. The bivvy looked good & that price seems good value/quality.
Do you have the email/web page details for the bivvy bloke? Bought an ALDI shelter in one of their fishing events & it ok but abit drafty & unstable where as your one looked spacious & sturdy. Thanks, TAF
I went to a fishery today, it said no bolies, does that include pop ups are they the same??
George 12 that mean u can't use both there
what rods and reels are you guys using on this video
conker FTW I'm pretty sure there made by Sonik. Not sure on their model. Tho

can u fish goldsworth park lake in woking theres some big tench pike and carp and other stuff
that common that was 14lb 11oz it looked like it had a bit of ghost in it
the pop ups have a smell to them ? Like boilies
They can have...Sweet flavours etc. I have some that still smell strong 3 years up the road, but in a sealed box.
I live in the US and some how I know about all of these we call the bait delivery system SPBOMS
What sonik rods were you using ??
they might be sks blacks
how would you play a big carp if you only had light line
You would let it run and when it gets close start bringing it in but wait till its tired.
are the rods sonik sks blacks?
Brandon Martinez A mix of Ryobi(35 years old) ,one out of a skip that cost £1,and two of the rods you mention.
What kind of fishing pole and reel are you guys using?
+music outdoors Sonik Black FS reels and Black SKS rods
Thanks mate
What's the song at 1:08?

Bivouac :-a temporary camp without tents or cover, used especially by soldiers or mountaineers, early 18th century (denoting a night watch by the whole army): from French, probably from Swiss German Bîwacht ‘additional guard at night’, apparently denoting a citizens' patrol supporting the ordinary town watch, Courtesy of Wikipedia.
The word bivouac is French and ultimately derives from an 18th-century Swiss German usage of beiwacht (bei by, wacht watch or patrol). It referred to an additional watch that would be maintained by a military or civilian force to increase vigilance at an encampment. Following use by the troops of the British Empire the term became also known as bivvy for short. (Bradford, James (2004). International Encyclopedia of Military History. Routledge.)
what bite alarms are they?
Hi Paul, they are Fox Micron MXR+
it might sound crazy but on my 12ft 3lb carp rods i can happily put a full large spomb out 100 yards.
Yeah Me too you dont need a spomb rod
noo don't upgrade to modern fishing , go old school forever!!!!
Hi Mike and Graeme, The word `bivouac` comes from Swiss German and French.
Can to go fishing for drook trout
We got some boilies and they are very hard. Do you soak them to soften them up or do you throw them out there hard?
narr mate they are either old boilies n been left out n dried out completely n gon hard.. and you can re soak them with bait enhancers or other liquids to re hydrate them. or they cud just be low quality boilies.. crap ones usually are quite hard n generally ant verry good..
i suggest trying mainline boilies there shelf lifes are verry good and there freezer baits are even better.. very good quality baits
do you sell the hats
Yes, link in the description
Lads, lads, what's going on?. Using new kit, What's happened to your senses. Only joking. Very entertaining video yet again.
What rods and reals are you using ? TAFishing
DJWSandman Sonik Black FS 6000 Reels and Sonik SKS Black rods 2.75lb test curve
+TAFishing cheers
what scales are those please ?
banjojohn66 there Berkley electronic scales
Thanks , appreciate it
rod and reel
The thing he is using to add bait is a spomb
just wounderd where you think the best carp fishing is in England
little tip for yas netting the fish put the net trough the loop at the pole it will cause less drag in the water and when the fish is in it will drag the net to actually hold the fish comment if you think this is good advice people so I know people see it I see 2 many people using nets wrong ha that's the reason the net pole has the loop
jordan donohoe We often used a rubber band to hold the net to the frame years ago.It then pulled free when a fish weight was in it.Trouble is the nets are now large enough to trawl for Mackerel and the mesh is finer, which creates more drag. Our mesh was much wider forty years ago and you could scoop fish easier. (Old school forever !! )Thanks for the tip though.
Where is the drone
Zweitze Vd Heide In the hangar .(Used a couple of weeks ago on a sea fishing trip.Has to be no wind,so limited in usage )
Oh, but when you do use it looks AWESOME. And thanks for your response gr from the netherlands
TAF is my favourite channel on UA-cam. Educational, informative and entertaining; simply great viewing. Never tried carp fishing, seems far to technical! Bite alarms......? Horrible invention!!!
jim22222 why
will you make a barbel video please
Thomas Brewerton Just waiting for some rain to boost the rivers.
Ghost common
The first fish is a ghost carp
i agree ghosty if not a pure ghost then its defiantly a ghost common cross
poly vinyl acetate not poly vinyl alcohol
Do you think pop ups are better than boilies?
It really depends on how the fish are feeding. With boilies you can use them as loose feed and throw them out to get fish feeding on the same hookbait that you have. Where as you can't do that with pop ups, they are a hookbait only. But on weedy lakes pop ups help your bait stand out. all depends on what the fish are feeding on and how tough the fishing is
+TAFishing hi if I go fishing tomorrow can I send you the link for you to watch please and subscribe please
