This felt like such a natural conversation, great video and presentation! Cavs' work with Gizz doesnt go unnoticed. Thanks for spreading the good word!
Cavs is a legend for me now. Kind of liked him before but after seen them live and really saw how cavs carry the beat and never miss a hit. Cavs Count Carbs Constantly
I love him and the whole band. Thanks for this interview. I had no idea he had a solo album or that video. Time to devour both. I saw both their shows in nyc recently. Fantastic stuff. Love all their albums. Thanks again!
I love how Cavs always talking about drums, like a "ummm i hit stuff and it made sound, yeah cymbals haha nice also snare which is cool, haha i just play drums". So sweet
I'll never understand the appeal of the double foot pedals myself. You can never get them to feel as even as a proper double bass drum setup. It also doesn't sound as powerful.
@@adambloodfist3368 Yup. And as a drummer, it drives me nuts. I know normies can't tell (or don't care), but whenever I see that left bass drum off in no man's land, I scream inside a little bit.
Seems like every week someone text or emails another link to one of your podcast. They never disappoint. Blessed for the opportunity to work with Cavs. Love the live feed on UA-cam feed of their live shows on this tour…… now if they just came to KCMO! Customized bass heads are priceless.
This is awesome. I've been a fan of King Gizzard for the past 6 or 7 years now. Lov Cavs drumming. I also miss Eric Moore in the band. Having 2 drummers in the band was awesome to listen too and watch. Keep up the great work. Found out about this channel lurking on the Drummer World forums.
Dont just kick over the rig rundown to other channels, I find very few of them ask real questions like why a drummer chose to use a certain head, what sound they feel they get from the drum they chose, why they like the sounds of the cymbals they chose. Modern drummer mostly just do a kit list. I want hear why they picked the depth os snare they did etc, all the geeky stuff.
Love me some King Gizz! Cavs is a legend
King jizz
"Because the and but also"
Thats my kind of language haha.
Love King Gizzard!👑🐸🦎🔮🥁
Saw them live on their current tour and Cavs blew me away the playing is so tight on their albums and somehow live they're even more impressive
@@anameiguess2000 where did you see them? I was at both shows in nyc.
@@barbarjinx3802 Toronto for me
@@barbarjinx3802 I saw them in Toronto it was such a solid set
Saw em in Austin... absolutely epic live performance

Thanks Bart and Cav for a refreshing talk about drums and music. I really like the different approach to this❤

Nice to hear another dude who prefers the feel of two kicks.
Most drummers do.Pal.Wake up!!
@@WillS-pl8wg not really, so many dudes out there playing a double pedal behind two kicks.

Cavs is insane! This podcast is so great, thanks for making this stuff!

The show in Newport was great, if unfathomably humid and hot. Great interview and show!
Yes awesome show! Unbelievably hot 🥵

Great Answer, most Drummers cannot deny Chad Smith, but you go back and see what made Chad Smith and then you hit Bonham.
flat affect king!!!!!!!!! we love our insanely good drummer king
7:15 camera man accidentally hits the symbols
pretty symbolic
Yes I made him walk home because of that
gizz >
He says Chad smith, as hes standing in front of the almost upright china cymbal.i mever understood how cgad smith plays it like that
He plays it by hitting it with a stick. Unbelievable I know.
cavs and joey were never bad to begin with but after infesting the rats nest they've ascended
DJ Crenshaw 😎
Hurts my heart to see that bearing edge exposed :,(
Double kick is nice but will never be as good feeling as double bass . To me anyway
