Bro, you just saved my lighter and my weekend. I was super bummed out because my husband fucked up my lighter and its my favorite one. Turns out the striker just needed to be bent back. Thanks, dude.
Great video! After going through half a dozen jet lighters, your video helped me bring back all but one. Something else I discovered along the way: Sometimes the burners are just plain ole [dirty]. I clean them by applying the refill can directly to the top of the dirty burner and give it just a quick, "Tsst!", squirt. Let the thing sit a couple minutes before igniting again and viola! Worked great. The thing I was doing wrong (before now, that is) is overfilling so, Thank you for that!
You're the best. Watched a few other videos but this one I went with...and it worked! Saved me from angrily smashing a perfectly good lighter, unlike the previous one. Thank you for your service to the community.
I’ve watched two of your videos on troubleshooting and they were basically the same. My torch has spark, and butane; however, I can’t hear butane expelling to ignite. I purchased this lighter and used it probably a week. It ran out of butane and I’ve not been able to light it since. I know there is butane in the lighter, a when I press on the nipple, butane expels. I’ve even emptied the tank and refilled it. Still, no gas expelling. Thank you for the time you take in making these videos. Oh yeah! I have the swivel neck scorch torch. I saw the one I have in your other video. Again, thank you very much.
Hey there I think tube that suppose to connect fuel tank with upper part got misplaced and butan would exit it halfway through and thats reason you cant get flame where it should be and its look like your torch got on wierd fire.(fuel isnt come out of head and there is no fuel to use the spark) You should check that connector tube...cheers and good luck

Omg ! I been doing Everything Wtf wrong! 🙄🤦Lol . I been holding down the butane during refill for at least an Entire minute or two! And I been shaking the can! 🙄 ty for this info 😁
The lids of most butane cans have 5 different attachments that you can pop out and stick on the nozzle to fit various torches that aren’t the basic size of the cans nozzle. What you’re describing happens to me when the specific butane brands nozzle doesn’t fit my torch.
Took me forever to figure this one out. Different brands of butane have different size tips or they fit differently. I always keep 2 different brands of butane. If you are getting cold gas spurting out onto your hands, grab a different can. It's the 1 and only thing that works correctly. U can try the adapter tips but they rarely work!
finally someone who knows their shit. Great video. Very well spoken. Addressed the issue perfectly. Thats EXACTLY what I did. I overfilled it and blew out the igniter. So to confirm, if we blow that puss, i mean igniter out, the troubleshooting steps will fix a blown out igniter? seems crazy that a blown out igniter doesn't require a new part. My lighter still lights but only when i have the butane setting on the perfect setting. if the flame power is set too high or too low the flame will not ignite. I will go ahead and try your troubleshooting advice. if it doesnt work i will beat my girlfriend
Like 20 more times because genius never flipped the lighter upside down to properly bleed the tank lol There's a reason why this is important and it has to do with the density of the propellant vs the butane. Also if you're not doing this than you're always leaving some residual propellant in the tank which doesn't burn anywhere nearly as cleanly as butane which is also why ppl have probs with these lighters. Their tanks are full of propellant lol smh
@@SEJay-gj2cvI know. 🤦🏽♀️This guy was just one big mess. Who hired him? This is pure contribution to the stupidity of humanity. 😂 “Yes I am right, I saw it on UA-cam from a professional who sells torches”
What I needed to know is if it was safe to depressurize the lighter's tank, before refilling it. I will continue to depressurize it all the way. Thanks.
I have the same lighter in your demonstration. It’s my second one and actually ordered it online because I liked the first one so much. It goes from no flame to a tiny flame to a 6 inch flame and then completely out. I’ve drained it couple times not and no change. I have to tilt it sideways to get a flame which seems to always be a 2 to 4 inch flame when doing so. Any suggestions?
@TGR Supply Hey when I fill my new torch with fluid I noticed it spews out fluid from the valve would that happen to be because it didn't come with an o-ring? Or would the problem be something else?
my torch wont even spark and when i try to empty the butane nothing comes out. i fixed the flint like you said but it still doesn't even make a noise when i try to start it or empty it
I have a small torch, Weller brand, model ML100, I haven't been able to use it since I bought it. It came without gas. After a while I charged the gas but the flame came on and then went out immediately. I don't know what the fault could be! The spark works and the spark sticks right where the gas comes out, but I haven't been able to fix it :(
Do you help with torch issues AFTER already doing all these? I have a jet flame torch that only produces a soft flame and it's driving me crazy!! Help??
Why is butane blowing everywhere, but into my torch lighter?? 😮. I'm not 💯 percent sure, but does every butane lighter supposed to have a small rubber band looking thing around the little nozzle, where you fill it with butane? If the answer to that is yes, well, mine is missing and that would make a lot of sense as to why this is happening to me! 😅😢
That means your butane bottle has the wrong size nipple for your torch. Butane bottles can have a different size nipple from another bottle and torches can have different size valves. Some butane bottles come with little attachments for the nipple so it can fit any sized valve but if you don't have a bottle that came with the different sized nipples you either need to go buy one like that OR you need to figure out whether the nipple is too big or too small for the valve and then buy a butane bottle with a different sized nipple based on what you found out about the size difference on your current bottle and torch valve.
Been searching forever…my fairly new scorchi lights great…BUT even all the way to low it shoots out like a flamethrower!!!! It’s crazy….i love the lighter and it wasn’t cheap but it is DANGEROUS TO USE

with the liquid transferring so cold when filling. After a few seconds Holding it in your hand it warms it up. adam's bouncing around faster when warm then cold? Haha jk
You say to hold down canister for no more then 3 seconds.... every torch has a different fuel tank capacity and so to say a set amount of time to fill up a torch is kind of redonkulous. It will all vary on how big the tank on your torch is. If there is not a lot of background noise you will be able to hear to tank being filled. The noise of the fill getting higher pitch the more its filled, then it will come to a steady pitch when full.and even get some back spray. You should be able to learn that pitch and the amount of time it takes after a few fills for said torch. So if you really arent capable of figuring any of this out without this video or my text then i hope this helps
hold the lighter upside down, press the nozzle FIRMLY into the valve for just a second or two. If it's spraying it's because your lighter is already full or you're just not pressing it straight or hard enough to create a tight enough seal to prevent outgassing.
your logic is flawed if you factor in the size of fuel reservoir. Also its been proven shaking butane is worse as it causes more propellent less actual butane. Third one is the spark from the piezo electrical crystal needs a big enough gap to allow butane to fill said gap so the spark can jump across and ignite more efficiently.
A for effort on trying I guess but torches don't use "flint"! It's an electric shocker that torches use, regular lighters use "flint" and steel 🤦 i like how you're trying to be helpful to those who have no idea what's going on but really teach people correctly so they don't continue this passing on of faulty/stupid information.
Only thing I don’t agree with is shaking the butane 😂😂😂😂every body knows NOT to do that . Mixes air with it etc you just want fluid going in. And some bigger torches do take longer to fill . I’ve had two scorch torch butane torches that have just stopped lighting themselves pisses me off I’m bouta just get a tank of propane
This video was a whole lot of absolutely nothing. There is no correct numerical amount of seconds to fill a torch. Torches come in all shapes and sizes. My Yocan gun shaped torch takes like 6 seconds to fill. I’ve never had a torch that wouldn’t light from being “overfilled”. When your torches reservoir is full, it squirts out and lets you know it’s full. When there’s too much air mixed in, that’s when you get burpee flames that seem to literally have spurts of air coming out with your flame. The little bar that pops out that you can adjust to the “+ or -“ side controls how much butane is being released and how big your flame is. It’s not to adjust pressure. 95% of the time when a torch isn’t lighting, it’s because your flint needs to be adjusted closer to where the gas comes out or because the flint broke off and isn’t there.
^This! Exactly. Also if the lighter is even slightly colder than room temperature it will not always light correctly because if it's too cold the butane inside the lighter will be mostly liquid as opposed to gaseous and won't catch a flame as well. But good news is it doesn't take much to heat it enough, even just holding the lighter in your hands, or pocket, for a minute or two should be enough to get it working again. Cheers folks!
@@SEJay-gj2cvyes! I forgot about that, being from Hawaii we don’t really experience this issue much. 😂 But I did when visiting my mom where there is an actual “winter” season. Leaving my cigs and lighter outside with them, I found the gas in my regular lighters would solidify and I’d have to do exactly that, put them in my pocket for 10 seconds or so to warm them up and they’d light right up again. 😄
