I was getting a spark but it wouldn't light. Gas was flowing out too. I took it apart like you did here and my tube looked clean and clear. I cleaned it out with a Qtip anyway and blew some air down it with my compressor. Put it back together and damn it works now. Thank you!!
Ah man! As soon as you mentioned "You just need to clean it"🤔..it made total sense! I actually have the exact same one as you; So after all these years of always manually lighting it? Well its better late than never. So when I came across your video: I just gotta say- MY MAN--YOU MADE MY DAY!!!! Thanks very much and God Bless.👍😉🇨🇦
Great job. taught me how to repair mine. Now working. Must have been a critter in there w. a nest. Also I checked for spark and adjusted the gap. You saved me so much..Thank you.
Thank you so much for the video...., you just saved me from buying a new one. After cleaning, it works perfect and stronger flame too. Thank u....thank u!
great stuff. mine was identical problem, hadn't used it in years. Wasp nest up the tube, couldn't get at it. Didn't know how to service it. Your vid did it. Was about to spend $$$ replacing it. So thanks mate from Australia.
Thank You for this video . I am on my second unit and it quit working . It is about two years old and I keep it in my shed right next to my burning barrel . This one stopped working just like the first . I will clean both of them like you said and now feel confident that they will work. If the company was doing the right thing they would include a paper with them on periodic maintenance that is needed to keep them working properly , but hey that would cut into their profits so that won't happen.
When you screwed it back on to test it, I wondered; "what if this thing doesn't fire up?" Then it made me appreciate your confidence in what you were saying by not EDITING, which helped me to TRUST what you were saying. Oh, and if you hadn't mentioned the spring, I would have sucked it up next week. Peace with you
5:33 Almost $50 now in 2023. Didn't want to throw mine out, hence, finding your video. Will report back if it works. I'm working from home today and it's snowy but I still use it for my charcoal grill all year round. Just have to find the allen wrenches out in the garage when I get a chance to sneak away from the desk. ;-)
No luck. pulled it apart further and the Piezo electric ignitor only works every once in a while. When it does, it feels "good". but not enough to light my torch. I'll just keep a spare lighter nearby in the meantime but hope to get lucky finding a lighter with the same igniter to swap out.
$43!! Plus tax!! Just bought a new one for this reason! First I tried contacting them about their “lifetime” warranty. Turns out it’s NOT lifetime. Great video
Just as you said "don't lose that little key", I dropped the little set-screw ... That's EXACTLT what happened with mine ... there was a little spider's web/nest inside the tube of mine, near the tip. Thanks so much, I was going to throw it out ..
Mine wasn't lighting - no soot like yours. But with flashlight I could see some tiny strands of spider web. I ran a fine wire through , also checked out the orifice on top - it seemed clean. Anyway it now works so thanks for the video .
I have issues with ignition too, however, when I removed the tip, it lights. I have arc and fuel. Tip is clean and I also washed and cleaned out tip. Any idea? Thx
Mine is BRAND NEW. I only used it once’s and when I went to go use it the second time it wouldn’t light. Hopefully it’s just dirty? I’ll have to check it when I’m home
I seem to have not closed mine all the way last time I used it or something because instead of the normal deep ringing noise it sounds like a hollow metal pole 👍🏻
It doesn't take very long for these starters to get dirty and stop working. I have several of them and I think I'm just going to find a better alternative.
Damn this video save my 59$ . I’m about to get new one. I’m like umm must have a video that show how to clean or other way to able to light up. Thank you.
If you have trouble cleaning the tubes, simply remove the 2 top parts like in the video and put them in boiling water for 10 mins, comes out super clean and starts right up.
Of course, this didn't work for me but, it did get me on the right track to go one step further by removing the orfus you can see once removing the torch tube and cleaning the top and bottom which worked for me. I'd post a picture but don't see where I can.
Great video. I bought a cheap crappy "go system," burner here in the UK. It wouldn't light, even after it was removed, brand new from it's box! it's non serviceable. If you see these in your hardware or DIY store, run a mile! Cheap, nasty junk.
Just bought a Mag Torch, not working out of the plastic package, I may clean it and see if it lights better, out of the package it take 4 clicks to light, wasting propane. Cost me $44 plus tax just for the torch alone.
I was getting a spark but it wouldn't light. Gas was flowing out too. I took it apart like you did here and my tube looked clean and clear. I cleaned it out with a Qtip anyway and blew some air down it with my compressor. Put it back together and damn it works now. Thank you!!

Well done sir. Brief , to the point, and accurate. Many thanks.
Thanks, NP

Great news!

NICE! Glad it worked out
You just saved me $50. Thank you!
Cool, NP!
Just fixed my TS8000 with this video. You were right, I left it outside and spiders moved in. Thanks!
Nice!
When you screwed it back on to test it, I wondered; "what if this thing doesn't fire up?" Then it made me appreciate your confidence in what you were saying by not EDITING, which helped me to TRUST what you were saying.

Right on! I’ve turned down companies “product review” samples and no Amazon affiliate for me.
What do you do for work?
Have the same problem. Can’t wait to try it out. Can’t believe a simple clean with that tip fixed it

NP, glad it worked out for you!

I have issues with ignition too, however, when I removed the tip, it lights. I have arc and fuel. Tip is clean and I also washed and cleaned out tip. Any idea? Thx
Sometimes inside the tube the filament is bent a little or touching.
Who knew, worked a treat, thanks mate, thought I had to replace parts which I couldn't find anyway.
Nice!!!!
Excellent! Thanks for the info!!
NP!
Mine works now.......Thanks......saved me money..

Right on! NP
What is that oscillating high-frequency sound? Cicadas? Hissing alligators? A sprinkler system?
Yes it’s cicadas!
Thank you so much my brother.
NP!!
U da man - I just saved $47, thanks.
Right on!!!
Thank for sharing! Cleaning fixed my igniter. Btw, I had spiders also in there....

Right on! NP
Worked for me! Thanks for sharing.
RIGHT ON!

NP!!
About time you cleaned that thing….lol! The cicadas in the background are so loud!
Yea, it was lower on my list. I didn’t even notice the noise!
Thank you sir for sharing that tip cause i was about to throw away sixty five dollars .
NP!!
Great video thank you
NP!
Mine is BRAND NEW. I only used it once’s and when I went to go use it the second time it wouldn’t light. Hopefully it’s just dirty? I’ll have to check it when I’m home
Try my method, let me know!
You made my day! Thank you
NP!
I seem to have not closed mine all the way last time I used it or something because instead of the normal deep ringing noise it sounds like a hollow metal pole 👍🏻
Mine is brand new, and it won't light up. My other one is bent and it gets dirty every time and it has never failed.
Not sure if that’s good news or bad news!!!
I sprayed mine with carb cleaner and - tadah! worked perfectly.
Right on!
@@oxford821 Be careful with the carb cleaner. I used it on a cheaper version with more plastic and the carb cleaner melted the plastic.
@@FreeAmericaChannel Wow good look! Watch out for that people!
You can also blow inside the holes above the spring instead of unscrewing it.
Cool
is there a way to do this on the cheaper torch heads that have the manual gas valve?
It probably the same way. Just try to clean the nozzle
It doesn't take very long for these starters to get dirty and stop working. I have several of them and I think I'm just going to find a better alternative.
I have to clean mine every year.
I took it apart and saw the spider webs inside, cleaned it out and it fired right up. Thanks 👍
Right on!!!! I’m glad it worked out for you
Fixed mine! Thanks!
NP!
Very good. Saved it from the landfill.
Thanks
Damn this video save my 59$ . I’m about to get new one. I’m like umm must have a video that show how to clean or other way to able to light up. Thank you.
Right on!!!!
Pipe cleaner works well cause I always have em handy in my pipe tobacco pouch😉
Yea I gotta get some
If you have trouble cleaning the tubes, simply remove the 2 top parts like in the video and put them in boiling water for 10 mins, comes out super clean and starts right up.
Cool!
i got the same torch head, it is not working since day 1 i got it new. it has no propane come out from the torch head. how can i fix? thanks!
I would try another propane bottle first. If nothing comes out again, there has to be a blockage. Pipe cleaners would probably be a good start
I have one that I can push the button to turn the Gass on any idea
I owe you a beer 🍺
Haha, right on!
Thanks man, saved me some bucks
Right on!! NP
Thank you 💯
NP!!
Dad gum spiders. Who invites them into the torch anyways?
They find their way into everything!
thumbs up...... i'm gonna use brake parts cleaner too on mine
Thanks, good idea!
Of course, this didn't work for me but, it did get me on the right track to go one step further by removing the orfus you can see once removing the torch tube and cleaning the top and bottom which worked for me. I'd post a picture but don't see where I can.
Right on!!
fixed it, thanks!
Right on!!
Do you know where I can buy the screw on tip?
Check out their website, maybe they’ll have it
Thank you so much
NP!
Hahah it just worked for me i was just about to throw it out all i did was clean it with q tip few times and it worked 😂 thank u
Nice!!!!
Thanks very much sir. You save me $49 price for this torch at ace hardware.
NP!!
Thank you!
NP!
does it have a battery?
No!
Appreciate it 👌
NP!
Iv followed this but the flame still don't stay alight ??
Sometimes it’s the filament inside the tube. May be to close to the side?
I cleaned it, but also had to very slightly bend the electrode to be closer to the tubing to get a reliable spark. Do not bend it very much.
Right on!
Thanks!
Thank you! I appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness
Gracias agradeciendo 🎉🎉🎉🎉
NP!
Nice Tip !!
Thanks
What is that noise in the background?
I think your asking about the bug noise. They are called Cicadas.
Great video. I bought a cheap crappy "go system," burner here in the UK. It wouldn't light, even after it was removed, brand new from it's box!
it's non serviceable. If you see these in your hardware or DIY store, run a mile! Cheap, nasty junk.
Right!
Just bought a Mag Torch, not working out of the plastic package, I may clean it and see if it lights better, out of the package it take 4 clicks to light, wasting propane. Cost me $44 plus tax just for the torch alone.
That’s sucks, try it. Sometimes the little igniter in the tube is out of line also.
Beware that the Qtip will leave stuff in the tube . Check it before you proceed . ( I would not advise using Q tips.)
Yes, a pipe cleaner would be better.
Thank you
NP!!
Them tooth gap brushes might be good...
Yea
I just bought one of these and it is doing this. It is brand new. Could also be what is wrong with it? Or is there something else going on?
Look inside the tube and check if the igniter isn’t bent out of shape
cool...traight to the point...
Thanks!
Mines sometimes works sometimes doesn’t idk
Maybe the filament is out of place or loose?
Same thing I use mine for
Cool!
Now SIXTY DOLLARS!
Dang!
Mine don’t even have a nozzle 😐
Hit all the yard sales!!!
