I’m a 6 figure earning Pro DM and I exclusively use FoundryVTT. There is nothing else even in the same ballpark. The core system is great, but the modules are absolutely incredible.
The most positive thing in the Add-Ons (modules) is that in the future, most of them (if not all of them), they will be in some way absorbed into the Main Corre Program or into each Game System (at least if they are System specific).. Why? Because they are basically free Alpha-tests, made by individuals (usually volunteers) and tested/reviewed by GMs/PCs.. and we are talking in the thousands by now.. so keep that in mind.. it already happened with more than half in my System (PF2e) and i've almost deleted most that added functions/features/modules into the Core Program P.s. when the Simple Fog (paint fog) enters into the Core program, it will probably be a hybrid between the default_vision + painted_fog
That's awesome, and I hope it keeps being true. That's really all I want out of most digital games companies but they just wont spend the time and resources on it. I guess that's the difference in a labor of love vs only trying to make the most money you can.
Have to say, I think your opinion is rather biased. It honestly relates to the ruleset. I would rather use Fantasy Grounds for Call of Cthulhu over Foundry any day. It really is down to the GM and players to workout what works best for them.
Simple Fog module has that brush on Fog of War, but totally understand you are looking at just the core features.
Awesome, thanks for sharing Pauly! I pinned your message so others can find it easily.
Definitely one worth grabbing imo.
