i remember when i met Chad at NAMM, and i asked this exact same topic, about his snare and snare sound, this dude spent like 30min with someone who he does not know, talking about it and how he approaches it he even went so far to prove his point that we went across from where we were at to another booth where they had some snares, he asked me for a stick that i had, and sure enough, he started hitting them and there it was, the Chad Sexton snare sound, is not the snare, it's actually him and how he hits 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Great dude and extremely friendly

Absolutely love this guy and his playing. Brilliant drumming and that one thing that stands out...His Own Style. Very few drummers in the world can stand out and be recognized in a crowd of other drummers. How you play and as Chad mentioned "technique" is all so important. I recommend to all you young and aspiring players is to develop your own style and sound.

I've always loved how Chad tuned and played his snare which is why I've always had a similar snare size, with an Ambassador skin and cranked the snare a lot in my playing.

Hi Chad! We love your sound! Thanks ❤ My 12 year old daughter just started drums and just plays what’s in her head. She loved this
I have rather successfully forced 311 upon her and by god, it worked

Chad Sexton has been a huge influence on my style,.. First time I heard 311 I knew I had to get on the drums quickly .. same with Carter beauford etc. The cornerstone of Sexton's "style" is drumline - so for those who want to incorporate a bit of him into your own style -- get on that practice pad and do some rudiments! ;)

One of my favorite modern drummers! I get a hint of John Bonham in his style

Iconic snare sound but I love the way he hits the bass drum on snare hits in a creative way

It's just hitting the drum off center with rim shots. Another way to have body, and still crank it is to use a deeper snare. I am rediscovering, thought, that Remo Weatherking Ambassadors are a nice snare head.
