Starting the evo build off today at Top Rank's new Shizuoka facility!! I recently purchased the dandelion yellow evo v to be my full time japan car. The goal is to show what it's really like to have a car in japan and to get built in japan! Today, we started out with suspension! we installed the Ohlins track coilovers and COMPLETELY CHANGED the way that this car drives.

I said the same thing even tho the Evo is expensive but still more relatable to average person
I’ve given up on a lot of automotive UA-cam because it’s just gets more and more out of hand. I love how dut put it when he was talking about the lost art of tinkering, I’m very much a tinkerer so that’s what I love to see. Most people can’t afford rent let alone all these insane(but cool) car builds.
Maybe get the undercarriage dry ice blasted and rust seal coated? Especially if it's gonna be sitting a lot of the year in Japan.

My Evo 5 felt extra quick at first, then I started hitting boost cut and realized the actuator had seized up, common on these. Simple mods, but a smaller wheel with an extended boss and a lower seat rail was a huge improvement for me.
Very true. Getting rid of the huge steering wheel and a lower position seat will make it feel more like an actual sports car rather than just some quick sedan.

Dude, this series is Top content. At 1st I was like man that Evo is crap compared to your other builds but Im now digging it. Exhaust sounds just right actually and that Top Rank Shizuoka garage is killer. I've driver those mountain roads in Hakone and Shizuoka and thats what makes Japan the best for sports cars. Man, this trip is 🔥..so jealous. Props to your teamup with Masa and Top Rank.

The evo needs those Ohlin's coilovers. That is what they use for rally cars. I think RalliArt and cosworth uses those. My uncle had those on his eagle talon/mitsubishi eclipse rally car that he had coswort UK and team bushar build for him. He used it in scca pro rally, and then he shipped it to the Philippines when he moved to the Philippines. He is a big mitsubishi fanatic. I think all of his ex rally cars were mitsubishi cars.
Look at a Koyorad upgrade for the Radiator, I just did it on my 6 and it’s a night and day improvement

I have a “stock” Evo 8 MR that I bought when I was in Japan. When I had it on the Dyno the tuner also said it seemed spicy for a stock car making 280whp.

Loving the EVO content!! I have a 2015 Lancer. I wanted an Evo but hated that it only had 5 gears. Wish it was a 6 speed!! I love my Lancer and I wish they didn't discontinue it. Now I am regretting not getting Evo when I had the chance. Maybe one day I'll be able to get one.
Hakone is awesome! Was just there a few weeks ago and the touge was so much fun. Excited for the evo content. Definitely my favorite gen

Didn't Masa have the blue R34 gtr at somepoint? Just curious does he have it anymore? Also the GRMN Yaris is freaking baller, i believe it has the track package and other improvements over the "basic" GR Yaris? Wish we could have the GRMN in Europe but i believe it's Japan only. And ofcourse the Evo is awesome choice!!!

The foams on those headphones are cheap and easy to replace. Mine did the same thing. The Amazon memory foam ones are super comfortable
