Akane is what’s known as a method actress - and it’s why she’s always carrying around that notebook and taking notes of literally everything. They’re the type of actors/actresses that get so deep into a character that at times they literally live out the life of the character they are portraying IRL for greater authenticity. And, if you noticed, Akane did a full psychological breakdown of Ai, and it led to her completely nailing the character… and I’m looking forward to Psycultutist’s breakdown of Akane’s psychological breakdown of Ai when he reacts to this episode.
She is a practitioner of the Stanislavski system, not more modern Method Acting.There are similarities, she placing her into a role and it's circumstances, but she doesn't try to become the role. It's an older Russian school of acting.
Akane's voice actress is brilliant. When Akane called Aqua's name, her switch was flipped right there; I can hear her intonation is exactly like Ai's. Akane's voice actress is able to capture that, it's brilliant.
What's INSANE is when Akane transformed into Ai, even her INFLECTION turned into that of Ai's. And no, there was no actress swap here. Akane's VA is literally mimicking Ai's VA's performance. Just... *chef's kiss*

I got super emotional, like DAMN it hit like a truck to have Ai in someway back again, specially with how accurate it is, it felt like having her again. It hurt, damn.

She regularly takes notes, practices hard for every role, and is a bit socially awkward. A deep researching method actor, not unlike say Heath Ledger did in his role for the Joker. Yes, she is the detective Aqua needs to find the accomplice to Ai's killer.
Aqua said "You can't win in porker if you don't raise. So long as I have a single ace, I'll play the game." THIS LINE! This line refers Akane herself, and ace is her acting talent. Such a wonderful story telling.
And despite that level of faith, he still believes it'd be impossible for her to properly act as Ai, which goes to show even moreso the kind of pedestal he puts Ai on.
First of all, the scene where Akane is researching about Ai is only a panel of manga and they successfully brought it to life, with the tension, seriousness and those moving pupils made it more "creepy" in a sense. Second one is the "Ai-kane" scene. That is so amazingly directed. The ED, which became the background music of that scene, made it more awesome and exciting tbh. The way they actually made Akane to look like Ai is just THAT good. I got chills even after reading the manga for years.
I knew what was coming since i read the Manga. But the truck that hit me at the end was still so much heavier than i expected. I believe it hits so hard because not much time passed since we lost the beloved character called Ai. And in that moment, she stands right there bringing all those feelings back.
Akane is just a genius. Some people may be creeped out by her a bit, but most of us, myself included, don't understand geniuses and like always, people are afraid of the unknown. But i like her because of that. This makes her so interesting

I agree. Akane may be my favorite but I still love Kana (I love all the characters). Both are very amazing characters in their own ways. I feel bad when one of the characters get hate from fans because they like the other. Of course, I still respect their opinions but still I feel bad. Both of them are great characters.

They really did a good job especially Kurokawa's VA. The build up from when she was doing some intense research about Ai, and then that legendary climax in the end. Who else felt the same way as aqua when Akane suddenly changed? I mean I literally had trouble BREATHING.
Reminds me of the kid that played Joffrey in Game of Thrones . He doesn't do acting anymore because he was disliked because of his role . People where talking to him like he is that way IRL .

When I saw the episode I just knew the part with Akane not wanting to worry her parent was going to be one hell of a gut punch for you. When Akane was so spot on about literally everything about Ai and proceeded to play her exact character it was so terrifying it send shivers down my spine.
Akane studying Ai down to the last detail was terrifying, that pacing for the build up as she went deeper! Akane's VA is so good, I hope it comes across to non JP speakers too, but it's scary accurate down to the small details.

watching you react to this show has been awesome. It's a weird thing, I'm a pretty normal dude, with most of my friends not being into anime. So for the first time ever i've had this insane urge to connect with people about how fucking awesome this show is. Not being able to share this with people in real life drives me bonkers cuz it's just so good. But the first part of episode 1 is a hard sell for a non anime fan, I don't hold it against people. So being able to share these crazy hard hitting moments of the show with someone, even virtually like this, really scratches that itch. I never thought I'd get into reaction content (and to be clear, I don't think think there is anything wrong with it), but I totally get it now. It's just so nice to see someone else enjoying what you enjoy, especially with a show as intense as Oshi no Ko. Hello. I am writing on one of your Videos for the first time. I am more of a quiet enjoyer of you connect and been subbed for a long time. I just wanted to share how happy I am to see the reaction you had when Akane switched into her role of Ai. I was freaking out and questioned if I´m going crazy or if this show just does something with people. Thank god you also seemed overwhelmed from that scene.
When first reading the manga I literally got chills when I saw Ai-kane, it also somehow made me so emotional to see "Ai" again and I felt for Aqua. Just goes to show how good of a method actor Akane is.
I adored that scene where Akane was psychoanalyzing Ai. It really actually struck a chord with me cause I can very easily do the same. I usually lowkey know those sorts of things in the back of my head but don't realize unless I'm actively trying to figure things out, but a few people asked me to do it for them a day or so after meeting them for funsies and I apparently hit the head of the nail several times doing that lol
the writing is soo fkin good for this ep. Aqua successfully used the situation presented to not only switch akane's narrative by playing into social media opinion latching, but at the same time boost the show's online interest by making people talk about it and giving it attention. Aqua effectively just unlocked good ending while boosting everyone's popularity in one fell swoop.
I've seen a lot of comments saying that akane put lenses but if they paid a little more attention they'd see that her eyes looked normal when she was apologizing to the crew. Plus when she was doing her investigation she said that ai's eyes maybe are a result of her self-confidence so it all points to them not actually looking like that but more that it's an aura they exude

Akane seems to be a method actor, which is why the reality part of reality tv never suited her. After studying Ai's character she can really let her talents shine. Also more importantly I think is that this will open Aqua's eyes. This entire time he's believed that Ai was naturally magnetic, he says as much when he says that nobody can replicate Ai. The technique used by Akane is the impersonification (sorry, I am Italian and in italiano is called immedesimazione). The emoctional actor use this technique usually (there are 2 tipe of actor: cold and emotionals) . You create a character and by understanding it's emotions and comparing with similar emotions you had feel you can emulate a character almost perfectly. When I reed the manga in this scene I had goosebumps because as a actor I understand how mutch difficult is replicate a character this perfectly, ad she did it, WOW

I just want to mention something that you guys might not see. Aqua's eye star can change to white and black. I don't know why, maybe depends on situation or emotion. For example, when he talking to director of love now, his star at first was black but then become white at the middle of conversation. That's all I want to point out. I agree. Akane may be my favorite but I still love Kana (I love all the characters). Both are very amazing characters in their own ways. I feel bad when one of the characters get hate from fans because they like the other. Of course, I still respect their opinions but still I feel bad. Both of them are great characters.

watching you react to this show has been awesome. It's a weird thing, I'm a pretty normal dude, with most of my friends not being into anime. So for the first time ever i've had this insane urge to connect with people about how fucking awesome this show is. Not being able to share this with people in real life drives me bonkers cuz it's just so good. But the first part of episode 1 is a hard sell for a non anime fan, I don't hold it against people. So being able to share these crazy hard hitting moments of the show with someone, even virtually like this, really scratches that itch. I never thought I'd get into reaction content (and to be clear, I don't think think there is anything wrong with it), but I totally get it now. It's just so nice to see someone else enjoying what you enjoy, especially with a show as intense as Oshi no Ko. I adored that scene where Akane was psychoanalyzing Ai. It really actually struck a chord with me cause I can very easily do the same. I usually lowkey know those sorts of things in the back of my head but don't realize unless I'm actively trying to figure things out, but a few people asked me to do it for them a day or so after meeting them for funsies and I apparently hit the head of the nail several times doing that lol
That ending gave me some of the biggest chills ever wow

Akane seems to be a method actor, which is why the reality part of reality tv never suited her. After studying Ai's character she can really let her talents shine. Also more importantly I think is that this will open Aqua's eyes. This entire time he's believed that Ai was naturally magnetic, he says as much when he says that nobody can replicate Ai. Seeing Akane imitate Ai so well will show him that Ai was acting too, that her smile and energy were all calculated too.
That gave me the shivers. I loved that last few seconds of episode 7.

The technique used by Akane is the impersonification (sorry, I am Italian and in italiano is called immedesimazione). The emoctional actor use this technique usually (there are 2 tipe of actor: cold and emotionals) . You create a character and by understanding it's emotions and comparing with similar emotions you had feel you can emulate a character almost perfectly. When I reed the manga in this scene I had goosebumps because as a actor I understand how mutch difficult is replicate a character this perfectly, ad she did it, WOW

I just want to mention something that you guys might not see. Aqua's eye star can change to white and black. I don't know why, maybe depends on situation or emotion. For example, when he talking to director of love now, his star at first was black but then become white at the middle of conversation. That's all I want to point out. So, do you guys have any theory on it?
