I believe that we have the most colorful and diverse when it comes to our dance culture, we have prehispanic dance in Mindanao Muslim dance, the Ifugao dance, and Spanish colonial dance. My latest favorite is the Tiboli folk dance with lights on their hands. 😘🇵🇭

Nakakamiss mag folk dance! Simula elementary hanggang 1st yr college nag folk dance ako. Maraming lugar ang narating ko dahil sa pagsasayaw nung bata pako.. CCP, Folk Arts theatre, mga hotels, different schools.. Hindi ko na rin natuloy ung pag member ko dati sa Philippine Barangay pero hanggang ngayon andun parin ung mga kabatch ko.. iba ibang bansa na rin napuntahan nila just to perform.. Pinakakamiss kong sayaw Malong dance, Bumaya, Pagpag, Lo jota Moncadena, Singkil, Pangalay, Maglalatik, Sayaw sa Bangko at syempre Tinikling. Ilan lang yan sa mga naaalala ko. Pero usually 4 parts ang performance namin simula sa Tribal tapos Maria Clara, thrn Muslim dance and pinakahuli ung Rural dance. Sana ang mga schools patuloy parin sa paghimok sa mga kabataan na malaman ang mga katutubong sayaw natin..

Actually there so many events in ccp that showcases our cultural dances. One of these is Pasinaya which happens annually during the first quarter of the year. Unfortunately this year it was cancelled due to covid :(

At first kala ko, since mga Hip-hop dancers tuturuan ko, madali lang nila makukuha yung steps pero di pala. It took us more than 2 days ma- kabisado Tinikling pa lang yun. Though, madali lang pag pinanood mo ang mga folk and ethnic dances naten sa Pinas pero pag ikaw na ang sasayaw di pala. I remember when i was in elementary in makati we always had field day every year and most of the songs was folk songs..i even dance before using the arc with flowers 😁😁😁
OMG that stage is too dangerous especially for Pilipino Folk dances unlike other Asean folk dances that's more on precise hand gestures and body movement. It looks like a modeling ramp, uneven, narrow and small. Still the Pilipino dancers did a fantastic job in showcasing our folk dances with grace and ease. Bravo and congratulations.
The producers of these performances are making a mistake in displaying lights that becomes busier and brighter than the dancers so much do that he dancers get lost in the lights. They should be the MAIN attraction and not the lights!!! Otherwise, the dance performances are excellent!
It's NOT A MISTAKE. It's just the lack of knowledge of how a particular cultural dance of another country should be presented. Remember, this WAS in Malaysia. Most likely, with the number of participating countries' group performances the HOST/ORGANIZER might not had the luxury of having the technical rehearsals. It should have been the responsibility of the participating countries' technical crew to GUIDE the theatre's staff in the control room what to do.
@@YYC403NOYP the host/organizer likewise should have asked the respective participating groups' cooperation re: that matter. They were , after all, The HOSTS and in normal settings, IT IS THEIR MAIN RESPONSIBILITY to make sure of their equipments' availability and not the guests'
Noong estudyante ako sa elementary ay pag tapos ng school year at may program ay palagi may folk dances at yong mga kanta ay mga folk songs. ang presentations. Ngayon ay kung ano ano na lang. kaya nawawala ang ating mga kaugalian at respeto sa ating kultura at kinagisnan. Pwede ba gawin itong mandatory sa school programs.
There should be cultural dances events in CCP , kasama na sa mga tours pg may mga tourista. Kasi when i visited Thailand and Indonesia meron silang mga cultural shows everynight pra sa mga turista na bumibisita sa bansa nila kasama na sya sa package Tour

For me i don't like the stage, there is so much going on that i don't like and the size of the stage is very small
