TRUE. Majority of the celebrities shown are half filipino. And the fact that she said that we're all mixed is so wrong 😭 but I can't really blame herm it's a big misconception that most filipinos learn as factual
I am shocked by the harsh comments they gave about the celebrities. Even when they were saying "they're all pretty" during the conversation to soften the criticism they gave, it just feels insincere. I'm just shocked that they think that Heart's age is like 50-something age and that's very rude and it goes on with the nose thing, that's too much and I find it very rude! I'm not a fan of the American girl, I find her to be rude, impolite and annoying.
I think some people often exaggerate how mixed the Phillipines is and how influential the Spanish were. The average Filipino doesn’t have a drop of Spanish blood, there is just a preference for putting half European people on pedestal and that’s why there are so many mixed celebrities in the Philippines.
"Exaggerate", are you sure? How ignorant! People would often wonder, albeit silently, whether Filipinos are Pacific Islanders, East Asians, Malays or Hispanics. The curiosity is not unfounded because if you map it out, the Philippines is at the center of various countries, such as China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan, and it also sits right beside the wide expanse of the Pacific Ocean. So, what really is a Filipino? If we ask science, the answer would be all of the above. The mixed heritage of Filipinos shows up in their genes. Filipino scientist Michael Purugganan, the Dean for Science at New York University, looked into his own genetic code and saw a variety of mixed European and Asian genes inside his nucleus. He said all evidence point to the fact that Filipinos are “all mixes.” “I think every Filipino who is genetically tested will show up as a mix. We are products of what we evolutionary genomicists call genetic admixture, the result of several thousand years of mixing in our island archipelago at the edge of the Pacific. We were always getting genes from everyone who came to our shores. We are, in a genetic sense, a truly global people,” he wrote in a 2013 column. Even before the Philippines was called by its modern name, native inhabitants of these islands came from different races. The result was a diverse group of people with Malay, Chinese, Hindu, Arab, and Polynesian roots. Then, the Spanish came, and ruled for over 300 years, throwing in a mix of their genes and culture, before the Americans and the Japanese came. You might be wondering why this is important in the discussion of Filipino values, and the answer is that all the modern Filipino values, as we know them today, came from the Philippines’ long history of mixing various cultures. What the Filipinos are today is a product of a collective experience that stretches beyond time, and this is what makes them perfect for the outsourcing industry.

Pure native don't have the same spotlight like them. They're being overshadowed of how they looked and doesn't standout in the crowd. It's a big misconception among filipinos that we're all mixed. It's the make up. Filipinos for some reason favor heavy make up.
I think the reason they're guessing older is cause when they see someone young they assume there's some sort of plot twist so they guess way older than what they actually think cause like we've all seen these vids where people guess younger and the person ends up being way older
Hilarious. The ladies throwing low key shade at the celebs. I get it.

“We we’re colonized by Spain for 100 yrs…”

The girl wearing black on the upper far left, hits my nerves... Exaggerated when she guessed Heart's age.
But she is right, she does look old

I am shocked by the harsh comments they gave about the celebrities. Even when they were saying "they're all pretty" during the conversation to soften the criticism they gave, it just feels insincere.

He said all evidence point to the fact that Filipinos are “all mixes.”
“I think every Filipino who is genetically tested will show up as a mix.
The guessers look like they are on their late 30’s to early 40’s except for the the girl with padded white jacket she looks 25-28
The one with glasses looks 50's though and the girl wearing white beside her.

We still have that colonial mentality that the closer to european our features are, the prettier we are. That’s why there’s a lot of half Filipino celebrities. People would mistake me as hispanic but Im full Filipino 😂 I did the genetic and ancesry test so I know😂 I dont know what she's talking about when she said we're all mixed. 😂
I agree. It's because most celebrities are halfties or even mixed and have an assumption that they represent us all yet, we're not. It like they're just minorities. Pure native don't have the same spotlight like them. They're being overshadowed of how they looked and doesn't standout in the crowd. So definitely being mixed is what makes you standout 'cause you don't blend that much in the crowd.
It's a big misconception among filipinos that we're all mixed. I do have mixed ancestry, but I'm not mixed culturally (from other countries but my family comes from different parts of the Philippines) and my foreign ancestry is a small percentage. Although I'm not "pure filipino" (which I think is also an overused term) I'm full filipino
I agree. It's like dismissing what native Filipinos look like. It annoys me especially when I go to a Filipino store. They're amazed that I'm part Filipino and speak bisaya/Tagalog or how interesting that my Lola's family came via Mexico which leads to the pinoys at the store claiming Spanish ancestry too. I like talking to them but then when I ask their only proof is their last name. I don't understand if it's for validation because seriously being multicultural/racial is nothing special. Well at least for me 🤷🏻♀️
