I'm Polish, and all that food is actually exactly what we eat in Poland, except bread, which we prefer white.
Soup is called "Barszcz Czerwony" which is beetroot soup with white sour cream, meat is "Kotlety Mielone" which is pan fried, minced meat in egg, and breadcrumbs, served with "Surówka" which is sour cabbage, carrot and spices salad.
I love it.

Hello, my name is Pivokrab of Minsk (Belarus)
Many thanks from all Belarusians, for what a sincere and kind person you are! And for showing us what we are. We are really kind, honest and responsive people. We love communication, drink and how to have fun. But beyond that, we work hard and love our families. I want the whole West to see through you what we really are, and not this negative that politicians are liars pouring on us. Peace to all!
Good for you dude 😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

All politicians do is lie and divide.
Sounds great. Question, do you have pre-judgements about the West? See, that works both ways, don't forget. God bless you and your family.
I am an American who travelled to Russia in 2015 Russian people proved to me, to be amazingly kind and hospitable people.
I love you Russia.
I think Slavic people come across as quiet and stoic which many people percieve as being unfriendly but start up a conversation with one and you will be pleasantly surprised by their friendly nature.
indeed , slavic people may look sad or angry at first look but this is just because most slavic countries are poor, corupt or in crisis...
Especially if you're willing to drink with them, or have brought something to drink.
Slavs are great people. Funny & open-hearted. All this image you describe is portrayed in Hollywood movies. Because mostly in the '90s (and the early 2000s or, heck, even still today!) it was "chic" to place Slavs playing the villains. That is a stereotype that planned to people's brain mostly through movies. #TrueStory Greetings from Greece.
My most enjoyable trips have been in Slavic countries.
That's an absolutely accurate depiction of Slavs. There's a widespread Russian proverb that's used in most of the Russian-speaking Slavic countries: "A laugh with no reason is a sign of a moron". We only smile for people who we consider friends.
Also, the problem is not about people being poor, corrupt, angry, blue-skinned or having three legs. It's just most of the countries mentioned above have very harsh climate and an ambiguous weather with harsh upper and lower limits. Such climate is present throughout most of the year and it's not a pretty sight to see.
These two reasons may be the main part of Slavic image of an eternally angry face. Yet we have to have fun at this climate, that's why, indeed, when you get to know us better, we open up widely and engage in crazy activities.
In the 80-s, so-called "комплексный обед" (fixed-menu lunch) in Belarusian restaurants and cafes was abt. 1 soviet ruble during the weekdays. The meal was very delicious and cheap, provided that making the same meal at home would cost abt. 30% more. In fact, restaurants and cafes did not make any money on those lunches. They were subsidized by the government.
Good to know! Interesting
if it was anything like what Bald is eating, it looks much healthier than what we're paying $15 USD for at chains here. Enviable.

The soup definitely looks "bloody" delicious.
Its red beet
Borscht is red because of beetroots. If you want blood, however, you can have *czernina* (pronounced roughly cherneena). Name comes from czarny, meaning black, (also known as czarna polewka - black soup) is a Polish soup made of duck blood and clear poultry broth. In the older times it was given to the guy asking the parents of a girl for a permission to marry their daughter. If you got that soup - you got rejected. There are some other interpretations of this tradition, but that's the most common one.
Also - there's a sausage called Kaszanka, that's also made in part with pig's blood.
I think that soup originates from Vlad-the impaler-vostok

Those "bathroom tile" Wall's (glazed brick) were cheap, last forever and are easy to clean. Probably why they built the government buildings with it.
We used to do the same back in the day here in Mexico, in the downtown area of my city, there was a fried chicken locale called ''Pollo Buenos Aires'' (I don't know why it has that name) and I remember thinking ''Damn, it looks like a bathroom'' because of the tiles they used to cover the place.
90s until early 2000s McDonald's here in the Philippines had bathroom tiles for walls. The last one of those old designed branches closed just this December 2019, I think it was one of the first in the country too but the mall it was in was bought and renovated to be an bigger mall. I don't know if design among Mc D's are the same all over the world for a particular time but the McDonald's I've seen in Saudi and all over Asian countries we visited were different from ours during our travels during that time.

Exactly what I thought. No idea why he didn’t want to be on camera???? Given that he has a UA-cam channel also.
This video was uploaded before irish uploaded his first video in July of last year maybe he was camera shy back then compared to now, yeah I know its weird that I went out of my way to reply to a comment I couldn't ignore ugh...
Bald confirmed IRA collaborator?
I envy you... MOST of the time. Good on you for pointing out the amazing looking borscht!
That meal is enough for at least two people. Love your videos.
By the way, mash potato is natural, no artificial food there.
Where's the real meat at tho? That "steak" was trash.
@@nhardman Thatwas not beef steak, cutlet. Anyway all combined quite heavy, you would not wanted to eat anything else...
@@nhardman Lol, its completly natural) Look how cutlets are made and you will understand)
@@nhardman Not steak, meatballs.
In eastern countrys they use minced Meat and mix it with onions one egg and salt and peper and form meatballs with it mostly they breading it and trow it on a pan. You can find them in eastern europe or germany called "Frikadellen" or "Buletten".
Gundam frikandellen are dutch actually not German
That red borscht is SO delicious. A stripper friend of mine was from Belarus and she was the most generous friend I've ever had. Her mom made borscht all the time and I'd always eat so much of it. She was such an awesome person and told me lots about "Beautiful Russia" (Belarus)
@Shaxx lmao
You saw her tits right?? If she didnt show you her tits she wasnt your friend
That soup is made of beetroot, and Belarus (Białoruś in polish) means "White Russia".
Bela (biała) - white and Rus (ruś) - Russia.
love this!
I love your vids. Thankyou Boldy for taking me with you.
Ive never travelled to anywhere other than spain but i met so many slavic people in Nottingham when i was homeless for 2 years and they were absolutely amazing, we taught each other odd words, shared our last £1, had drinks by the fire every night and danced and sang, the amount of respect they have for women had me in awe, i have honestly never met such great people. Love your videos ❤
We hardly even understood each other but we tried and when we got to frustrated we just drank and turned the music up🤣🤣🤣🤣
Next time you're needing a bed Beth give me a shout.. :)

Had meals like that in little tiny villages in Chile. A plate of something like shredded beef, some rice and a few chopped tomatoes and carrots. Delicious and cheap.

In morocco in the town of Oujda you can get a really Nice shrimp avocado sallad for the price of between 4-5 euros, with a can of soda.

Interesting!! I'm Mexican, we have a similar food course, all around 50 pesos-2,35 EUR but not vodka just fresh fruit water. Definitely Belarus have some cheap an exotic vibe for a tourist.

At the same facility, NYOFCO, in the South Bronx, I was on shift when my guys had to turn in their weekly timesheets. I told them it woud mess with admins minds if they all turned in their timesheets in their native language. So, my shift consisted of a Nigerian, a Polish guy, a Pakistani, a Ghanian, a guy from Trinidad Tobago, and my Belarusian friend Igor. I noticed that Igor was hesitating. I asked him if there was a problem. He looked at me and "Chief, it really sucks when you cannot remember your own alphabet.?"
great color scheme on the wall colors.
So interesting and fun to watch.
