  • The British invasion had some dominating troops in its forces, from the powerful guitars of Led Zeppelin to the psychedelic rock of Pink Floyd, and of course we were all seeing red doors thanks to Rolling Stones. But this is about the standout gritty, against-the-odds enduring music of Fleetwood Mac, one of the most prolific bands of all time.
Over a hundred million records sold, venues alongside actual world leaders, awards for contributing to the very nature of music itself - all this success is even more astounding when you know the inner turmoil and shakeups that Fleetwood Mac endured over the years. I’m your host Nostalgic Nick, and if you enjoy examining this ever-changing band with us, be sure to give this video a thumbs up, and subscribe so you’ll catch our next jam sesh. But Without further ado, let’s find some dreams to sell.

It leaves you like a cocaine high, within minutes, then you have the withdrawal that lasts for days. The music was for cocaine drenched cheaters, by cocaine drenched cheaters. It's still some of the best music ever made and no one comes close to Christine Mc Vie and Lindsey singing songs where you can't tell where one vocal ends and the other begins.

Wow, there was so much history of this group that wasn't covered here. No mention of the affair Nick's and Mick Fleetwood had and how that affected Buckingham. Also no mention of some of the other affairs Nick's had with other musicians. She was definitely unhappy in the band and with Buckingham.

They wouldn’t have had NEAR the success they had without her. Her songs charted better and more often than either Lindsey’s or Christine’s.
Plus as a front woman she was mesmerizing. So there’s that….

@@irishgrl Actually, Go Your Own Way eclipses anything Nicks ever released. And don’t forget it was Buckingham’s accompaniment and sound engineering that supported Nicks' success. Stevie Nicks was only accepted into Fleetwood Mac at Buckingham’s insistence. “Shacking up is all you want to do” turned out to be true. That all being said she had some good songs and some great songs. Storms and Angel are two of my favorites (accompaniment and sound engineering by Buckingham of course). Tusk was a great album!

You can listen to an entire album & every song is completely different. I do think Lindsey made Stevie’s songs great. He’s under rated & so was Christine.

OK. Really enjoyed it but you sort of left out the Bob Welch years. He joined shortly after Jeremy Spencer left and he and Danny Kirwan made some fairly memorable LP's together; most notably to this listener "Bare Trees" which was Danny's swan song. Then along comes Bob Weston who may have had an affair with Christine McVie who was now John McVie's wife. One incredibly "spooky" song came out of this era and collaboration: "Hypnotized". Both he and Bob Welch left before, what was left of the band who had become "Americanized" found the core of what would bring the band their greatest riches.

Totally 100% agree with Luis underneath, stop saying tragically when no one has been killed, it's so annoying . Fleetwood Mac are all rich people living high octave mega-livings due to their popularity as a band, there is nothing tragic about that!!!!! Stop click-baiting. You have put me right of your video's now.

Seems to be a recurring theme with bands of this era, the rampant use of recreational drugs. There have been too many accounts of bands breaking up or losing members just because of out of control addictions.

I can't pick a favorite song by them, but I will say like I have so many times on other channels that Hotel California by The Eagles is the greatest song of all time! The album is great as well, but that song transcends everything! You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave!

From 1975 I have loved Fleetwood and still do. The Rumors Album is the best as well as the song. It is always sad when greatness has to deal with human emotions but wonderful when people can look past the problems and do something better.
