MEEEE TOO!!!! I remember standing at my mothers stereo listening to “Rhiannon” when It came out, I was only 5 years old! And danced my little 5 year old jig!! And then “Dreams” a couple years later, and I was a fan for LIFE! Now at 54, Fleetwood Mac is STILL my all time favorite band! And Stevie is my all time favorite solo artist!!! I sure hope that FM wises up and will do one last album and tour, WITH Lindsey Buckingham. I really want them to make up,,,, and put their differences between them all in the past..... like Lindsey says, give FM a proper send off. They have tons of music from Christine that they can use, and show videos of her while her songs are played! That way it will be like Christine will still be there,,, and maybe help them all put their grief to bed.

Fell in love with Fleetwood Mac when Nicks and Buckingham joined, now at 62 they are still my go to band. I saw them at 14 years old in San Diego. Bless my Dads heart, he was the only parent willing to come pick us up at midnight even though he had work early the next morning. And my Mom for getting the tickets so we could go. They are musical geniuses, look at what they did high as kites! Amazing.

These substances made it possible to remember everything, when they are on stage and the substances, also, made them fit, to stay 2 hours on their feet and sing. Just, imagine, every day you have to be in the mood, having a good time, feeling good, just in the mood to sing...?!?!? It is impossible for anybody to be everyday... hip.. You have to drinks coffee, buzz, brandy, drugs... just to get on your feet

Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac played an outsized presence in my adolescence. I remember when my BFF Monica and I pretended that we saw Stevie Nicks at a local concert at the Japanese Sunken Gardens in San Antonio when we were 13. Six months before Monica died from cancer at 60, I proposed we try to catch a Fleetwood Mac concert. She died before that could happen but every time I think of Fleetwood Mac, I think of my BFF. Thanks, Stevie, for the memories. ❤

    • @andrewpereira9271
      @andrewpereira9271 Рік тому +16

@@notbraindead7298 It depends how you define the band . . . i.e. by what era? The original band, before Christine joined full-time, was started by one of the greatest, most talented guitar players of all time, Peter Green. Also a great singer and songwriter. Fleetwood will often talk about Green being in the Pantheon of God-like musicians.
That version and this version are pretty much two completely different bands. Although, with John McVie and Mick Fleetwood spanning both eras, the rhythm section has always been fantastic and too often unnoticed or underrated. Anyway, I won't disagree with you about Christine McVie . . . I think she always gave the band great depth, soul and ballast.

Decades ago, I went to a concert hall to see Chuck Berry perform. One of the opening bands was a group called “Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac”. This was the original Fleetwood Mac, with its founding member Peter Green. According to legend, Peter decided to call the group Fleetwood Mac, because he knew he wouldn’t stay with the band very long. Back then they were a “blues rock band”. Flash forward a few years and I was working with the new Fleetwood Mac’s record company. I met Mick Fleetwood, but never mentioned to him I saw him perform with the original band. I also met Stevie Nicks at a party at her house to promote her solo album. The new Fleetwood Mac is a good pop band, but the original Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac was awesome.

I have a strange connection with Stevie Nicks. I grew up in a small beautiful town in a valley in Southwestern Manitoba called Minnedosa. I loved Fleetwood Mac. (Especially Stevie Nicks) I had a crush on her. One day in early August of 1980, a friend dared me to hitch-hike to Hollywood, so, I did and made it there I survived a brutal attack in Southern California, (Ended up in a hospital - Spent my 18th birthday there, head nurse bought me a pizza) A Mexican social-worker I had to see after I was released, asked me if I still wanted to go to Hollywood, I said 'YES!' and the next day I was given some friend chicken and put on a Greyhound to LA.
Long story short, I arrived, and the first thing I did was to purchase a post-card & mailed it to & mailed it to the friend who had made the dare. I was lucky to find a nice couple who I stayed with, The husband worked at a 'famous' outdoor theatre in North Hollywood called 'The Hollywood Bowl' I ended up being an usher there,
(I have a photo of myself on the stage holding a microphone looking very much like Peter Frampton!)
I was there, I think it was late August, early Sept when Fleetwood Mac was playing and I was placed near the stage and told to escort Stevie Nicks off the stage. "Don't ask for an autograph - And be polite", so, of course, I was. I carefully held her dainty hand as she stepped off the stage.
"Hello there, Stevie, Great concert, let me help you get off here!" She sort of giggled at my wording "Well thank you, sir!, Where are you from?" she asked. I answered her, "A small town in Manitoba, Canada called Minnedosa." Stevie mentioned "Minnesota?" "No, we get that allll the time, Minnedosa, I restated, it's in Canada." ""Oh yes, Canada, it's so beautiful there, really beautiful"...she added. "Yes, it sure is, and here's your trailor..." ""Oh, thank you, your a very handsome young man!" as we parted, I think I nearly fainted, True Story....
There is a more recent second part that happend about two years ago, but I need sleep, so, later....

Pure brilliance from this band from the very early days to today. Their first album i walked into a record store, in Plymouth UK and it caught my attention immediately as it was being played there. I have followed them in my life always hearing their changes and their successes with various memories for me in my life association to different times for me. Its been a trip all the way. I Really look forward to hearing them on this next venture. I wish i could afford to go see but that impossible now but opportunity for tv may be possible. Lets hope.
.❤❤❤ i wish them all success as im sure it will be brilliant. ❤❤❤

First this is an old video. Christine McVie has passed away and Mick Fleetwood has said, they would never tour again. Second I was a huge Fleetwood Mac fan back in the day and still have my albums. I read everything I could get my hands on about them then. Each write has a rich storytelling ability which should never be discredited, which I think Stevie tries to do to Lyndsay who is very talented. She needs to remember that he was so committed to their relationship he wouldn’t join Fleetwood Mac without her. From the interviews I’ve seen I think Stevie never got over the break up and that he married someone else. So sad. I live in Southern California and in the 80’s I saw them at the Inglewood Forum. A dream come true! Only Stevie was clearly doing drugs as she would leave the stage in between songs sometimes to change clothes but other times not. I didn’t think they were as good as they could be because Lyndsay was not on tour with them. Sadly, Stevie has way to much control of the band. I hope Chrisitne can rest in peace.

@@wendylewis4508 I love Christine but they toured without her for 15 years after she retired in 1998. The compounding problems are that John McVie physically can't tour any more and doesn't want to - Christine said this back in 2019 and Stevie had Lindsey fired in 2018. Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood are not enough to tour as FM even if they both think they are. Stevie currently has her solo tour and is opening act for Billy Joel - and tours at a much slower pace now - once every 4 or 5 days with months off in between. The most that might happen is a reunion for the Maui Fire Disaster since Mick is saying he's setting up a musical fundraiser event.

I just wanted to thank you all so very much that you been so much expiration to millions & millions & more than that you planted a seeds to so many souls around the world , that seeds grow as your music , voices, lyrics helped us to growing & overcoming many sorrows in humans life that we all have , but not all could overcome. My name Nadia I come to USA in 1977 , age 24; but married with a child, I like music & I listened to any music that make me feel happy or happier, regardless of the language & lyrics, so early that ear we have radio and listening to whatever ,whoever was singing was just fine for me , asTina Turner singing in her song “Dancing for money and any of your music will do”
because the only language we knew was Russian. So one day I herd voice & music that completely overwhelms me , little did I know who was it or anything at all about . But each and every time Fleetwood Mac’s playing I literally was touching the heavens with my emotions, and I still having same feelings and same human love , admiration, respectability, for your talents that would Never fade away from me , from very first time I have heard Fleetwood Mac’s till the time I would leave this world.
From my deepest heart feeling I am thankful to each and every one of you who still here & for those who is not for yours existing on this planet!!!
    Warmly with the moonlight gratitude❤❤❤

Being reminded of Christine as a crucial member of the band might result in people thinking that the band wouldn't be worth seeing without her, and not buy tickets.
